  • 철도차량에 취부되는 추진장치는 차량의 성능을 결정하는 매우 중요한 요소이다. 이러한 추진장치에 대한 다양한 성능을 평가하고 진단하기 위해 상시계측시스템을 구축하여 활용하고 있다. 이러한 계측장비들은 추진장치에 대한 계측 및 분석을 통한 시험을 평가하고 완성차 시험이나 본선시운전 시험시에 발생할 수 있는 고장원인을 찾아내고 해결하는데 많은 도움을 주고 있다 본 논문에서는 한국형 고속전철차량에 설치되어있는 상시계측시스템을 통해 추진장치에 대한 고장진단을 실시한 내용에 대하여 기술하였다.

A Comparison of Concrete Median Barriers in terms of Safety Performance using Computer Simulation (컴퓨터 모의층돌시험을 통한 콘크리트 중앙분리대 방호울타리 형식별 성능비교 연구)

  • The concrete median barriers are the most popular safety appurtenance that can be installed on narrow medians and are effective in keeping uncontrolled vehicles from crossing into opposing lanes of traffic. It is necessary to install and maintain median barriers because it is very difficult to reserve enough room required for medians in KOREA. Also, concrete median barriers are accepted as the actual alternatives for median barriers, mostly because they require almost no maintenance even after serious collisions. Typical concrete median barriers are 810mm high and have 596mm high glare screens on top of them. However we have experienced a number of "climb" and "roll-over" accidents of heavy vehicles and most of all, there have been some serious accidents caused by the part of broken glare screens. So the improvement study of concrete median barriers started. Prior to this study, a new type of concrete median barrier was suggested which is 1,270mm high and has no glare screens on top of it. So it was required to compare the properties of various types of concrete median barriers including the new type to find the optimal type of concrete median barrier. In this study, we have evaluated the characteristics of four types of concrete median barriers (New Jersey type, F type, constant slope type, and wall type). We have performed many computer simulations for the evaluation of the crashworthiness of them, and through the simulations we have tried to find a proper type of concrete median barrier. Through the computer simulations, we evaluated the structural stability and safety of the four types of concrete median barriers. We confirmed the structural stability and safety of them But in regard to the probability of "roll-over" of heavy vehicles, the higher concrete median barriers showed better performances than the lower. As the result of this study a new type of concrete median barrier was recommended.

  • This is a comparative study of three inertia navigation units and focuses on the verification of reliability about GPS/INS for the SmartUAV(DGNS). Those GPS/INS have been tested using a manned aircraft and an automobile. The comparative aspect of units include details about the GPS positions and the inertia sensor performance. With the flight scenario, the DGNS guarantees the reliability of the navigation operation and performs the flight test for the development of the SmartUAV.

  • 최근에는 발생되고 있는 염화물계 제설제의 도로 손상, 차량 부식 및 미끄럼으로 인한 교통사고 문제를 해결하기 위해 친환경 제설제의 사용이 권장되고 있다. 그러나, 현재 수행되고 있는 친환경 제설제의 성능 시험 방법은 실내에서 얼음을 이용하여 실시되고 있으나, 실제 현장 성능과의 상관 관계가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 현재 수행되고 있는 제설제 성능평가 방법을 소개하고 국내 실정에 부합하는 제설제의 성능 검증을 위한 현장 시험 방법을 제안하고자 한다.

  • LED light sources have been known to have a long life and good energy efficiency compared to traditional light sources. Recently, headlamps using LED light sources have ensured the forward visibility and safe operation of high-speed rolling stock. However, assessing the lifespan of LED headlamps based on real test data is not easy because it depends on the multiple stress factors such as a fixed driving current, junction temperature, vibration and so on. Generally, LED headlamps have failed before their advertised life span mainly due to temperature. Thus, the performance assessment of a temperature control unit should be done before a life cycle test of LED headlamps. This study attempted to develop a prototype temperature control module for a lifecycle test system using a commercial LED headlight and verified the system through experiments.

  • Vehicular communications is system which can be applied for transmission of various safety messages or Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS) applications by combining vehicle/road technology with Information and Communication Technology(ICT). In recent years, a variety of ITS services are available such as driving information, road conditions, V2X messages as well as navigation and traffic jams notification. In general, vehicular communications can be used for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication by adopting IEEE802.11p/1609 standard which is commonly known as wireless access in vehicular environments. In this paper, WAVE communication standard based on the IEEE802.11p is explained and signal characteristics in WAVE communication is introduced. Also, The H/W and S/W characteristics in Road Side Station and On Board Equipment for the Vehicle to Everything communication are analyzed. Received Signal Strength which is power of receiving signal of communication equipment is measured in test road to estimate the real WAVE communication's performance. It is shown that the implemented WAVE communication technology is satisfactory to provide ITS services.

  • 전기차량용 차량제어기는 차량 전체의 구동 전략과 브레이크 시의 회생제동, 고전압 배터리의 SOC management 등을 제어하는 역할을 한다. 엑셀 페달 및 브레이크 페달의 신호를 입력 받아 운전자의 주행의지를 받아 들이고, 차량의 각종 제어기들과 CAN 통신을 통하여 필요한 정보들을 송수신한다. 이러한 입/출력 동작을 통하여 차량 전체의 구동전략을 세우고 각종 제어기들에게 주행에 필요한 정보를 전달한다. MCU(Main Control Unit)로는 32bit micro-controller 이 적용되었으며, 열충격과 고온동작 내구 등의 환경시험 및 전자기파 적합성 시험등을 통해 외부환경 변화에도 요구 성능을 만족함을 확인하였다. 이러한 성공적인 개발을 통해 2011년 초 시범양산되는 현대기아자동차의 BLUE ON 에 양산적용될 예정이라는 데에 의의가 있다.

  • 차량의 안전성능 향상을 위해서는 사고에 대한 예방안전장치, 사고후의 사고 확산 방지, 사고시의 안전대책 등 여러가지 조건들이 고려되어야 한다. 그외의 부가적인 것으로는 도로여건, 운전자를 포함한 운전자 주위의 환경요건이 있다. 본 고에서는 차량안전에 관한 일반적인 관련 사항을 소개하고, 추가적으로 충돌시험의 몇가지 simulation 방법에 대하여 기술하고자 한다.

A Fire Test Measuring the Heat Release Rate of Railway Car Interior Materials Satisfying the Korean Safety Guideline (안전기준을 만족하는 철도차량 내장재의 화재 열방출율 측정시험)

  • A large-scale fire test was conducted for interior materials from a vehicle installed within a fire test room (ISO 9705). The interior materials are satisfying the Korean guideline for the safety of rail vehicles, where the guideline has taken effect since December 2004 in Korea. The output of ignition source (gas burner) was increased in several controlled steps. The objectives of this test are to assess the fire performance in terms of ignition and flame spread on interior lining materials and to provide data on an enclosure fires involving train interior materials that grow to flashover. These data will be used to develop and calibrate models for fire growth on the interiors of the railway vehicle.

  • Although the number of registered cars in South Korea is about 22million but, there is no national standard for automobile reference fuel in South Korea. Reference fuel is the fuel used for certificating vehicle performance, emissions and fuel economy. Now, domestic market fuels are used as reference fuel. However, the quality of domestic market fuel is constantly changing by seasonal and fuel manufacturers. It may effect vehicle performance, emissions and fuel efficiency test result. On this study, market diesel fuel quality was monitored and reference fuel standard(draft) was set by reflecting market fuel monitoring result. Reference fuel standard(draft) was applied to CRDI engine.
