  • Sasa quelpaertensis Nakai leaf has been used as a folk medicine for the treatment of gastric ulcer, dipsosis, and hematemesis based on its anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and diuretic characteristics. We have previously reported the procedure for deriving a phytochemical-rich extract (PRE) from S. quelpaertensis and how PRE and its ethyl acetate fraction (EPRE) exhibits an anticancer effect by inducing apoptosis in various gastric cancer cells. To explore the molecular targets involved in this apoptosis, we investigated the mRNA and microRNA profiles of EPRE-treated SNU-16 human gastric cancer cells. In total, 2,875 differentially expressed genes were identified by RNA sequencing, and gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analyses indicated that the EPRE-modulated genes are associated with apoptosis, mitogen-activated protein kinase, inflammatory response, tumor necrosis factor signaling, and cancer pathways. Subsequently, protein-protein interaction network analysis confirmed interactions among genes associated with cell death and apoptosis, and 27 differentially expressed microRNAs were identified by further sequencing. Here, GO and KEGG pathway analysis revealed that EPRE modified the expression of microRNAs associated with the cell cycle and cell death, as well as signaling of tropomyosin-receptor-kinase receptor, transforming growth factor-b, nuclear factor kB, and cancer pathways. Taken together, these results provide insight into the mechanisms underlying the anticancer effect of EPRE.

  • In this study, file size for measurement and the service system's billing data were submitted to a comparative analysis by performing a verification test on the billing system of three major mobile communication services providers, based on the wireless Internet service packet. As shown in the result of the verification test, there were some differences in the billing data due to transmission overhead, according to the network quality that is affected by the wireless environment of mobile operators. Consequently, the packet analysis system was proposed as a means of applying consistent packet billing to all service providers being compared. If the packet analysis system is added to supplement the current billing system various user requirements can be met. Billing by Packet among mobile operators and differentiated billing based on the content value are available, since the packet data can be extracted through protocol analysis by service, and it can be classified by content tape through traffic data analysis. Furthermore, customer's needs can be satisfied who request more information on the detailed usage, and more flexible and diverse billing policies can be supported like application of charging conditions to the non-charging packet handling. All these services are expected to contribute to the popularization of the wireless Internet service, since user complaints about the service charge could be reduced.

  • In IPv6 environment, the Internet Telephony, VoD(Video on Demand) and high capacity file exchange service will be more increased than IPv4. Therefore, the strict guarantee of QoS based on End-to-End and differentiated quality control schemes are simultaneously required. This paper proposes the flow control schemes on IPv6 network that the traffic is identified by flow and the QoS of multi-service is improved by QoS information in IPv6 hop-by-hop option header. The object of flow control includes not only non-default QoS traffic, which uses the flow label, but also best-effort or encrypted traffic. Therefore, the guarantee of real-time service is strengthened and the flow, which abuses unnecessarily the network resources, is effectively controlled. Also, this paper proposes the mapping scheme between the flow and MPLS by reflecting the minimum change of the existed network resource and the status of backbone network of ISP(Internet Service Provider). In the simulation result, It is shown that the proposed scheme is effective in the side of QoS on real-time services and utilization of backbone resources.
