A 9-year-old intact female Shih-Tzu was presented with abdominal pain and abdominal distension. Since the animal's birth, the owner had never observed proestrous bleeding in the patient. Ultrasonography revealed segmental enlargement of the genital system. An ovariohysterovaginectomy was performed to remove the genital mass. The vagina was grossly dilated as a result of being filled with a solid black-green substance. A vaginogram was performed. Based on the surgical findings and vaginogram results, an imperforate hymen was diagnosed. One month from the first surgery, a stump pyocolpos developed between the sutured site and the obstructed portion. The persistent hymen was removed by endoscopy. However, peritonitis and sepsis developed after the procedure, and the dog died. Therefore, During operation of persistent hymen, a cruciate incision over the hymen strongly recommended to avoid additional post operative complications.

A 12-year-old, female mixed breed dog presented with a vaginal mass protruding outside the vulva. The patient was non-gravid, with normal defecation and urination. Serum chemistry revealed azotemia and increased alkaline phosphatase. Hematology findings were normal. Blood electrolytes showed mild hypernatremia. Ultrasonography demonstrated severely enlarged uterine horns, a uterine body with anechoic to hypoechoic fluids, and a focal hypoechoic area within the mass of the right uterine tube. On computed tomography, metastasis was not confirmed. Other computed tomography findings suggested a right ovarian cyst, an enlarged, fluid-filled uterus, and an enlarged vagina with a mass. Ovariohysterectomy, episiotomy, and vaginectomy were performed. The case was diagnosed as uterine tube adenocarcinoma, vaginal fibroma, and pyometra. This case is the first reported concurrent occurrence in dogs.

개에서 정상 발정주기 때와 자궁 축농증에 이환 되었을 경우 이에 대한 전침 자극의 효과를 알아보기 위하여 본 실험을 실시하였다. 정상 자궁 운동은 발정기 때에 최대이었으며 발정정지기 때에 운동성이 감소되거나 결여되었다. 발정정지기 때에 전침자윽을 하거나 Prostagrandin $F_2{\alpha}$를 투여하였을 경우에는 자궁의 운동성이 크게 증가하였다. 자궁경관이 열린 자궁축농증에 이환된 두 마리에서 전침자극을 3~4일간 실시하였다. 자궁의 직경은 감소되었고 질 분비물은 증가한 후 이후 감소하였다. 환축은 회복되는 경향을 보였으나 축주의 요구에 의하여 난소자궁절제술을 시행하였다. 본 실험의 결과를 통하여 전침자극은 자궁 축농증에 이환된 환축에서 축주가 번식용으로 계속 기르기를 원한다거나 또는 난소자궁절제술을 환축에 적용하는데 있어서 수술적인 위험이 높을 때에 적용 가능한 새로운 치료적 대안이 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

An 8-years-old intact female shih tzu was referred to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital Chungnam National University for treatment of suspected pyometra. This dog had clinical symptoms of vaginal bleeding, vulvar discharge, polyphagia, polyuria/polydipsia and vomiting. In hematologic examinations, complete blood count (CBC) revealed mild leucopenia and a serum biochemistry profile revealed increased ALP, decreased GLU values. Diagnosis was made by radiographic examination, ultrasonographic examination, abdominocentesis. Peritonitis secondary to pyometra was tentative diagnosed. Surgical treatment was proceeding for ovariohysterectomy and peritoneal saline irrigation. It was confirmed that severe necrotized enteritis and pus leakage to ovarian bursa with pyometra. In this report, secondary severe disease also must be considered in diagnosis of pyometra because septic peritonitis could be occurred by pus leakage from uterus with pyometra.

Leukemoid reaction has been rarely encountered in dogs. This report describes a case of leukemoid reaction showing extremely elevated leukocyte count. A 10-year-old female Maltese dog was presented with purulent and bloody vaginal discharge. The CBC revealed severe leukemoid reaction ($976\times10^9$ cells/l, reference range 6 to $17\times10^9$ cells/ l) and mild non-regenerative anemia. On the blood smear, elevated leukocytes consist of numerous neutrophils and monocytes only. Radiographic and ultrasonographic examinations revealed generalized enlargement of the uterus, which was filled with a complex fluid. After ovariohysterectomy, Escherichia coli was isolated from the uterine fluid. To author's knowledge, it is the new record of extreme leukemoid reaction caused by local bacterial infection in dogs.

An 11 year-old intact female Yorkshire Terrier weighing 3.5 kg was presented with the complain of having a perineal mass, fecal incontinence and tenesmus. Physical examination revealed reducible bilateral ventral perineal mass, enlarged mammary gland and vaginal discharge. Bilateral ventral perineal hernia (BVPH) and pyometra were diagnosed based on the clinical and radiographic findings. Ovariohysterectomy was performed after general anaesthesia to treat pyometra. The BVPH was repaired by herniorrhaphy with semitendinosus muscle transposition along with colopexy and cystopexy. The postoperative radiographs and CT revealed a good correction of the BVPH. The patient showed good activity after 10 days and no complications were observed during a one year follow up period. BVPH can be successfully surgically managed by herniorrhaphy with semitendinosus muscle transposition along with cystopexy and colopexy in the dog.

An 11-year-old, female, Maltese dog was presented with abdominal distension and intermittent slight lameness on left hindlimb. Palpable abdominal pain and purulent vaginal discharge were observed on physical examination. Severe leukopenia with toxic change, and azotemia, hyperphosphatemia, and hyponatremia were identified on blood profile. On radiographs and abdominal sonograms, remarkable soft tissue mass containing echogenic material deviating intestines craniodorsally compatible with pyometra. On stifle radiographs, 4-5 fragmented sesamoid bone (fabella) was identified on both stifle joint with medial patella luxation. Immediate ovariohysterectomy was performed and the patient was recovered well with normal blood work. No specific treatment was attempted to the left hindlimb showing minimal and intermittent lameness. No remarkable abnormal gait was reported for 3-month follow-up period. The fragmented lateral fabella is considered congenital multipartite of lateral fabella not related to the lameness.
