Combustion Characteristics of Premixed Burner for Domestic Condensing Gas Boiler Using Metal Fiber and Throttle Body (Metal Fiber와 Throttle Body를 적용한 가정용 응축보일러용 예혼합 버너의 연소특성)

  • Premixed combustion has many advantages, including low CO and NOx emissions and a small combustor volume. These characteristics allow a compact design and wide application to condensing boilers with high thermal efficiencies. This study focused on the combustion characteristics in a premixed combustion burner using metal fiber and a throttle body. The results showed that a blue flame was found to be very stable at a heating load of 6,250-25,000 kcal/h when implementing the proper metal fiber, baffle plate, and throttle body. The NOx emission was less than 11 ppm under an equivalence ratio of 0.724-0.795, and the CO emission was less than 50 ppm under the same equivalence ratio. The thermal efficiency, which is a very important index when condensing a gas boiler, was observed to be above 96.3% under an equivalence ratio of 0.750.

  • Lean premix combustion is a best method in low $NO_x$ gas turbine combustor and we must know the characteristics of NO emission in high temperature and pressure condition in premix flame. Numerical analysis was performed to investigate the NO emission characteristics by adopting a counterflow as a model problem using detailed chemical kinetics. Methane $(CH_4)$ was used as a test fuel which is the main fuel of natural gas. The tested parameters were stretch rate, equivalence ratio, initial temperature, and pressure in premix flame. Results showed that NO emission was high in low stretch rate, near stoichiometric equivalence ratio, high initial temperature, and high pressure. Also, the pressure effect was sensitive in high temperature condition.

  • 디젤기관의 경우는 종래부터 직분식이 주류를 이루었고, 근래에는 분사압력의 고압화가 진행중이다. 분사압력의 고압화에 의해 연소효율의 향상 및 배출가스중의 입자상물질(PM:Particulate Matter)의 저감을 유도하고 있으나, 연소가스의 고온화로 인해 질소산화물(NOx:Nitrogen Oxides)은 증가한다. 따라서, 분사기간의 지연(Retard)이나 파일럿분사(Pilot injection)등의 혼합기제어에 의해 질소산화물의 저감을 꾀하고 있다. 이와 같이 디젤기관에 있어서도 혼합기 형성의 최적화에 의한 연소제어를 시도하는 수법이 중시되고 있고, 이를 위해서는 디젤분무 구조에 기초한 혼합기의 형성기구에 대한 규명이 매우 중요하다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 보다 고도의 혼합기형성 제어를 위한 기초연구로서 고온 고압장에서의 증발디젤자유분무구조를 해석하였으며, 계측영역은 연료와 주위기체와의 혼합이 활발히 진행되는 분무의 하류영역으로 설정하고, 입자화상속도측정법(particle Image Velocimetry:PIV)을 이용한 분무의 유동해석을 기초로 증발 디젤분무의 구조 해석을 행하였다. 실험조건으로서 분사압력을 72MPa, 112MPa로 각각 변화시켰다.

  • In this paper. the effects of a WI(Water Injection) in the intake pipe for a 4-cylinder Dl(Direct Injection) diesel engine are investigated experimentally, The WI system was controlled by the duty cycle from the intake manifold's temperature and MAF(Manifold Air Flow) First. effect of EGR on NOx reduction was investigated. Then WI system was applied to reduce NOx As the results. we can make the NOx map and visualize the NOx results by variation of engine speed and engine load It was known that effect of WI system on NOx reduction without the EGR was better than the with EGR base engine except of low load and speed condition.

  • Air pollutants from a small marine diesel engine are increasing and the IMO(International Marine Organization) regulation asked for its reduction. In this study, NOx reduction technologies such as improvement of various cooling systems are applied to the small marine diesel engine. The various cooling systems are a intercooler, a heat exchanger for engine coolant, and an exhaust manifold by water cooling. These systems are tested on an engine dynamometer and a exhaust gas analyzer by a marine diesel engine test regulation. Test results are shows that the small marine engine are satisfied the IMO NOx regulations; Tire II.

  • The main objective of this research is to develop a system which will provide a more efficient fuel saying measure for the current marine products industry situation caused by the increased cost of oil. For that function, the developed system has been verified using the medium of blending oil known as the MF 30 class. As a result, MF 30 was confirmed meeting the International Standard for NOx emissions and content of Sulfur. Oil composition and soot level analysis showed that it is acceptable to use MF 30 class in condition of proper engine running operation and pre-refinery treatment.

  • 질소산화물은 천연가스, 석유, 석탄과 같은 화석연료 연소 시에 배출되는 대표적 오염물질로 산성비를 유발시키며, 오존, PAN, aldehyde와 같은 광화학 산화물을 형성하여 광화학 스모그를 유발한다. 따라서 NOx 제어의 필요성은 더욱 강조되고 있다. NOx 처리 공정 중 대표적인 SNCR(Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction)공정은 N-계열 시약(환원제)을 노내의 온도가 90$0^{\circ}C$에서 110$0^{\circ}C$인 구역으로 주입하여 NOx가 복잡한 단위반응들을 거쳐서 N2와 $H_2O$로 분해되는 저감기술의 하나로서 초기 설치비가 저렴하고 단기간에 쉽게 설치 가능한 기술이지만, 대부분 외국기술의 도입에 의존하고 있는 실정이므로 국내개발을 필요로 한다.   • 최근 자동차 수요증가 및 산업용 보일러 둥 급증하는 추세이며 이로 인한 대도시 대기오염 문제는 위험수위에 도달해 있다. 이러한 산업용 보일러, 화력발전소등 고정배출원과 자동차에서 발생하는 배기가스에는 인체에 유해한 일산화탄소(CO), 질소산화물(NOx), 황산화물(SOx)등이 다량 함유되어 있다. 유독성 가스중 질소산화물(NOx) 저감방법에는 특히 선택적 촉매환원법(Selective Catalytic Reduction, SCR)이 가장 널리 적용되고 있다.   • Concern for new and renewable energy is growing globally. Biogas is one of the alternative fuels and consists of methane and carbon dioxide. It is difficult to achieve efficient engine operation due to a lower heating value of biogas compared to that of natural gas. In order to improve generating efficiency, finding an optimum point of ignition timing and excess air ratio is important. From this fact, generating efficiency and pollutant emissions of 2300cc gas engine generator operated by biogas as functions of ignition timings and excess air ratios were investigated in this study. As a test result, the generating efficiency of the gas engine generator using biogas was 27.34 % in the condition of the BTDC of $16^{\circ}$ and the excess air ratio of 1.4.

  • Numerous researches have been conducted to investigate an optimal EGR rate which minimizes emission levels of NOx without increasing PM or loosing an engine power. In this research, the interrelation among engine parameters were intensively investigated and evaluated quantitatively, and proposed some directions in design of a heavy diesel engine by applying EGR and Oxygen-enriched system.
