An Experimental Study on the Determination of the Flow Rate for a Feasible $N_2$ Generator to Extinguish the Fire (소화성능이 있는 질소발생기의 방사량 결정에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • An experimental study has been carried out to determine the flow rate for a feasible N2 generator to extinguish the fire, and this study analogized the correlations to determine the flow rate for $N_2$ generator considered an Oxygen concentration, protected enclosure, discharging pressure and discharging time. We manufactured simple protected enclosure for analyzing fire-extinguishing performance of the $N_2$ generator. As a $N_2$ gas is exhausted on protected enclosure, a various of Oxygen concentration is measured to analyze fire-extinguishing performance experimentally. The correlations determined as an uncertainty analysis for the Oxygen concentration deviations of the theoretical and experimental value. The analogized correlations is Q = (21 $\times$ V)/($O_2+{\zeta}{\cdot}P$)-V. In case of $300m^3$ protected enclosure, 0.8 MPa discharging pressure and $40m^3$/min $N_2$ flow rate, the Oxygen concentration is decreased below 15% within 3 minutes.

A Study on the Possibility of Application as a Natural Extinguishing System for $N_2$ Generator (산업용 질소발생기에 대한 청정소화설비로의 적용가능성에 관한 연구)

  • An experimental study has been carried out to investigate the possibilities of an industrial $N_2$ generator that it replace Halon series as a natural extinguishing system. And this study comparison design standard of gas series extinguishing system with natural extinguishing system. We manufactured simple protected enclosure for analyzing fire-extinguishing performance of the $N_2$ generator. As a $N_2$ gas is exhausted on protected enclosure, a various of Oxygen concentration is measured to analyze fireextinguishing performance experimentally. The results, in case of $100m^3$ protected enclosure and $5m^3$/min $N_2$ flow rate, the Oxygen concentration is decreased below 15% within 3 minutes. And so, the $N_2$ generator make full use of an suffocating extinguishing system.

질소첨가 316L 스테인레스 강에서 고온 저주기피로시 발생하는 경화거동

  • 질소의 함량을 0.04%~0.15% 까지 변화시킨 316L 스테인레스 강으로 공기 중에서 저주기 피로시험을 수행하였다. 전체변형범위 1%, 변형속도 2$\times$$10^3$/sec, 삼각파로 상온 ~$600^{\circ}C$ 온도범위에서 시험을 수행하였다. 상온에서는 사이클이 진행됨에 따라서 연화가 계속해서 발생하지만 온도가 증가하면 초기에 경화가 발생한다. 피로시험 초기에 경화되는 정도와 saturation 응력은 온도가 증가하면 증가한다. 이러한 경화현상은 동적변형시효에 의해서 발생되는 것으로 판명되었다. 질소를 첨가하면 강도는 증가하지만 경화는 감소되었다. 질소에 의한 경화의 감소는 질소가 동적변형시효를 억제하기 때문이다.

  • 서양잔디중 난지형 잔디에 속하는 세인트 어거스틴그래스에서 암모늄태 질소와 질산태 질소질 비료의 시비가 브라운팻치 병 발생에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 본 실험이 수행되었다. 포장에서 재배되고 있는 세인트 어거스틴그래스를 작경 10cm의 플러그를 굴취하여 플라스틱 포트에 이식한 후 뿌리의 활착을 위하여 온실내에서 한달간 재배하였고, 50kg N/ha의 성분비율에 맞추어서 균의 접종 1일전에 시비를 하였다. 잔디포장에서 분리한 Rhizoctonia solani균을 agar위에서 배양시킨 후 균이 배양되어 있는 agar block 을 떼어서 태운 perennial ryegrass에 접종시켰다. 감염된 perennial ryegrass를 다시금 세인트 어거스틴그래스위에다 치상시켜서 잔디로의 접종을 꾀하였다. 그 결과 암모늄태 질소비료나 질산태 질소비료 그리고 무시비상태의 잔디에서의 병발생간에는 유의차가 인정되지 않았으나 질산화 억제제를 처리하여 암모늄상태의 질소 성분이 질산태로 전환되는 것을 억제시킨 구에서는 타처리구에 비하여 6~9배의 발생율을 보였다. 따라서 잔디의 시비와 병발생을 연관시켜 볼 때 암모늄태 질소비료 와 질산태 질소비료 공히 큰 차이는 없으나, 다만 질산태로 변한 후의 질소양분의 토양용탈로 인한 소모를 억제시키기 위하여 사용되는 질산화 억제제는 상당량의 암모늄태 질소성분을 상당 기간동안 유지시키기 때문에 브라운팻치 병발생에 영향을 주므로 그 사용시기에 있어서 신중을 기하여야 하겠다.

Comparison of Non-desructive Method to Detect Nitrogen Deficient Cucumber (질소결핍 오이의 비파괴 진단법 비교)

  • Some stress for a plant could be detected to a certain degree by plant physiological measuring technique of the state of the art. The capability of early detection of my measuring system depends on kind of plant and kind and level of stress. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the capability of several fast and intact type plant stress detection systems to detect nitrogen deficiency of cucumber in the field. A series of experiment was carried out with four kinds of intact type measuring devices - a chlorophyll content meter, a chlorophyll fluorescence measurement system, an infrared thermometer and an optical spectrometer. The experiments resulted that the chlorophyll content meter could detect the stress of N deficiency at a confidence level higher than 95% on 3rd day for the earliest case and the detection of high precision was possible from 7th day after the stress was applied. The chlorophyll fluorescence measurement system detected the stress at a confidence level higher than 95% on 3rd day for the earliest case but the detection was not as much precise as the chlorophyll content meter. Leaf temperature measurement noted very poor results to detect the stress. Using the spectrometer, sensitive wavelength regions to detect the stress were searched and found out as 562∼564 nm, 700∼724 nm and 1,886∼1,894 nm. With the spectrometer using any of wavelength within the sensitive wavelength region, detection of the stress at a confidence level higher than 95% was possible from 3rd or 4th day after the stress was applied.

파일럿 시스템 규모의 환경기체조성용 가스 혼합기 개발

  • 신선농산물의 환경기체조절 저장 연구 및 호흡속도 측정연구에 필요한 설비중의 하나가 기체 발생기, 기체 실린더 및 이를 제어할 수 있는 가스분석기 이다. 현재는 질소, 산소, 이산화탄소 실린더를 이용하여 기체를 공급하고 기체분석기에서 저장고내의 농도를 측정하여 소정의 기체조성으로 유지하는 방법을 많이 사용하고 있으나 고가의 기체분석기를 구비하고 있어야 하는 점과 각 기체 실린더의 유지비용이 발생하며 자동으로 제어하기 위해서는 고가의 설비가 필요한 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 가격이 저렴하면서 혼합기체를 안정적으로 공급할 수 있어 파일럿 시스템의 환경기체조절 저장연구에 사용될 수 있는 장치를 개발하였다. 환경기체조성을 위한 가스 혼합장치의 조작은 시판되는 $N_2$, $O_2$, $CO_2$압축 실린더 또는 질소 발생기 및 공기압축기와 연계하여 사용할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 개발된 혼합기의 작동원리는 압력 조절기를 통해서 일정압력 유지시킨 후 정밀 압력 조절기 (IR 2010, SMC Co., Japan)에서 정압을 유지하고 metering valve(SS-SS2, Swagelok Co., U.S.A)를 이용하여 각 기체의 유량을 소정의 비율로 제어할 수 있도록 하였다. 각각의 기체는 metering valve에서 조절된 유량의 비로 기체 혼합셀에서 섞이게되고 일정 농도의 혼합기체를 얻을 수 있게 된다. 가스혼합기의 성능실험을 위하여 압력을 조절하여 혼합가스의 유량을 조절하는 실험과 이에 따른 농도 재현성을 측정하였다. 정밀 압력 조절기의 설정압력을 0.04~0.16MPa까지 0.02MPa단위로 압력을 변화 시켜본 결과 발생되는 혼합기체의 유량은 35~175$m\ell$/min의 범위까지 유량을 자유롭게 조절 할 수 있었으며 발생기체의 농도는 압력에 따라 0.1~0.3%의 편차를 나타내었고 동일압력에서 시간 경과에 따른 재현성 측정 결과는 0.1% 수준으로 나타나 본 장치를 환경기체조절 저장챔버 또는 신선 농산물의 호흡속도 측정에 사용 할 수 있을 것으로 판단되었다.

Effect of Inabenfide and Nitrogen Top-Dressing on Ethylene Evolution and Lodging in Rice (질소추비와 생장조정제 Inabenfide 처리가 벼 도복 및 에틸렌 발생에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was carried out in the green house at Tokyo University of Agriculture in 1992 to investigate the relationship between lodging resistances and specific morphological characters and to examine the effects of nitrogen top-dressing and growth retardant on changes of the endogenous ethylene content in rice plant. Inabenfide did not affect significantly yield, yield component, chlorophyll content, and $CO_2 assimilation but, decreasing plant height when growth regulators were applied at booting stage, decreasing internode elongation, and increasing culm thickness and diameter of the third and fourth internode. While, nitrogen top-dressing usually showed to effect increasing vegetative growth such as plant height, tiller number, and morphological characteristics but, were not significantly affected the chlorophyll content and $CO_2 assimilation. Ethylene evolution was dramatically changed with nitrogen top-dressing and growth retardant. Application of Inabenfide at 15 days before heading inhibited ethylene evolution in the all nitrogen levels. Higher nitrogen top-dressing showed higher ethylene evolution than that of low nitrogen level. High positive correlation was detected between nitrogen application and ethylene evolution.

Reducing Technique for Nitrogen and Phosphorus in Piggery Slurry by the Thermophilic Aerobic Oxidation(TAO) System (급속액상부숙기술(TAO system)을 이용한 가축분뇨 슬러리의 질소.인 저감기술)

  • TAO system and solid-liquid separation (28mesh filter and 200mesh filter) were applied in processing piggery slurry to see the reduction of N and P and to draw the efficiency in reducing manure application area. The results are as follows; 1. The amount of N and P in slurry of $4.6m^3/day$ was 22.5kg/day ($4,893mg/{\ell}$) and 7.32kg/day ($1,592mg/{\ell}$). 2. Reduction rate of N and P by TAO reactor was 9.9 kg/day (46.0%) and 3.47kg/day(34.0%). 3. Reduction rate of N and P by Solid-liquid separation was 10.5kg/day (46.6%) and 5.12kg/day (69.8%). 4. One the basis of the amount of nitrogen composting, the square size of liquid manure sprinkled area was reduced from 74.6ha/y to 39.0ha/y in rice paddy, and from 63.2ha/y to 33.0ha/y by the treatment.

  • Cold flow injection test was conducted to investigate the characteristics of cryogenic liquid nitrogen jet at sub to supercritical condition. Single jet injector element was installed in high pressure chamber to investigate the effect of ambient pressure around the jet, injector geometry and flow conditions. Experimental results showed obvious differences between jet characteristics under subcritical and supercritical condition. Effect of injector inlet shape also was investigated.

  • Air is essential for human beings to survive, but urban air is polluted with soot and harmful gases, due to the increase in industrial development and the population. Thus, air pollution in large cities is of increasing interest in the research community. One of the plausible solutions to this problem is supplying sufficient oxygen to indoor spaces. The main principle of the oxygen generator is to separate oxygen from air using synthetic zeolite. Various synthetic zeolites have been applied to public indoor spaces with the focus being placed on the oxygen exchange quality. Among the characteristics of zeolites which can be applied to oxygen generators is their ability to adsorb nitrogen from the air and, in this way, generate only oxygen. Thus, we investigated the degree of nitrogen adsorption by five kinds of natural zeolite and LTA zeolite 3A, 4A, and 5A (two different sizes). Using the PSA method, the higher the degree of nitrogen adsorption, the higher the oxygen saturation concentration, it was found that the nitrogen adsorption degree of the 5A zeolite was the highest. 6% on average. It was also found that the size of the zeolite had a significant effect on the degree of nitrogen adsorption.
