This study examines the main characteristics and differences on people's page in selected four national dailies, such as Chosun Ilbo, Joongang Ilbo, Seoul Shinmum and Hankyoreh Shinmun. Both Chosun Ilbo and Joongang Ilbo are categorized as the conservatives; while Seoul Shinmum and Hankyoreh Shinmun as the progressive. This study has been done by applying methods of content analysis to reveal the differences in terms of people's occupations, types of reports, their philosophies, and standards of selecting people by the dailies for the people's pages. The results shows that the conservative newspapers are very similar to the progressive newspapers in terms of occupations and the types of reports, covering the people on people's pages. More specifically, both the conservative dailies and the progressive dailies report the people for whose jobs are related to both social and cultural works. However, the conservative newspapers have much more coverages than the progressive papers in terms of the publicity reporting on the people. The conservatives are also much more reports on the people who are eager to economic success than the progressive dailies; while the progressives papers have much coverages on those who are interesting in helping others than the conservatives papers. Finally, this study reveals that the conservative dailies mainly cover those who are in publicity activities and social elite groups, while the progressive newspapers are the social celebrities and persons of fame in society.

Lakoff's (2002) 'nation-as-family' metaphor suggests that conservatism and liberalism in the United States are based respectively on two different sets of morality, i.e., "strict father" morality and "nurturant parents" morality. He argues that values associated with respective metaphors and political principles derived from them tend to determine certain political attitudes and policy endorsement. Using the priming technique, this study attempted to examine whether "strict father" and "nurturant parents" morality are indeed what underlie very different positions conservatives and liberals take towards people in need. The results supported the Lakoff's idea and demonstrated that, compared to priming "nurturant parents" morality, priming "strict father" morality actually led people to derogate character of those in need and to attribute more responsibility onto them for their economic predicament. This research leads us to reconsider what constitutes politically conservative and liberal attitudes and emphasizes the malleability of political attitudes.

Uncovering ideological trends and varieties embedded in contemporary progressive librarianship, the depth and breath of the librarians' thoughts should be more expandable than before. That is the purpose of the study. To accomplish the purpose, this study analyzed key ideologies of American progressive librarian Zoia M. Horn(1918-2014) as reviewing carefully her biography with the inductive approach for qualitative data analysis. As a result, author suggests that the core values of Z.M. Horn's library freedom ideologies have identified as equality, intellectual freedom, and pacifism. In addition, the ingredients of these core ideologies also were identified.

본 연구에서는 리카도가 자신의 "정치경제학(政治經濟學)과 조세(租稅)의 원리(原理)"(이하에서는"원리(原理)"라고 하겠음) 3판에 새로이 도입한 "기계(機械)"의 내용을 중심으로 기술진보(技術進步)가 고용(雇傭)에 미치는 영향(影響)에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다. 리카도는 당시 대부분의 주류 경제학자들과 마찬가지로 과학의 발전과 기술진보로 인한 새로운 기계(機械)의 도입은 근로자, 자본가 및 지주를 포함하는 모든 계급(階級)에게 유리한 결과를 가져오리라 생각하였다. 그러다가 그는 "원리(原理)" 3판을 작성하면서 이러한 자신의 견해가 잘못된 것임을 시인하고, 새로운 기계(機械)의 도입이 근로자(勤勞者)에게는 불리한 결과를 가져올 수 있음을 분석적인 방법으로 보여주었다. 그러나 이러한 리카도의 시도는 당시 및 후대의 경제학자들에 의해서도 지적되었듯이 부분적으로 논리적인 오류(誤謬)를 범하였다. 리카도의 논리적 오류를 수정하면서도 그의 문제의지(問題意識)을 부각시키기 위해 본 연구에서는 힉스에 의해 도입된 신(新)오스트리안(Neo-Austrian) 자본개념(資本槪念)과 이에 입각한 기술진보(技術進步)의 형태분류를 리카도의 분석틀에 적용시켰다. 그 결과 일정한 형태의 기술진보하에서는 수익성이 높은 기계(機械)가 도입될지라도 과도기적으로 고용(雇傭) 및 총생산물(總生産物)에 불리한 효과를 나타낼 수 있음을 보여주게 되었다. 그리고 과도기적으로 기계(機械)의 도입에 따른 기술적(技術的) 실업(失業)이 발생할 경우 그 기간에 영향(影響)을 주는 요인(要因)에 대해서도 살펴보고자 했다.

한국사회 이념갈등을 다룬 대부분의 연구들은 이념갈등의 본질은 대북문제에 있으며, 이를 제외한 다른 정치사회적 이슈들에 대해서는 진보와 보수 간의 유의미한 차이가 없다고 밝히고 있다. 그러나 우리사회 현실을 볼 때 진보와 보수세력은 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화 등의 대부분의 이슈에 이해 첨예한 대립 관계를 형성하고 있다. 본 연구는 이에 대한 해답을 찾고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 이념측정의 방법과 분석틀에 있어 새로운 방법론을 제시한다. 우선 본 연구에서는 자기평가적 주관적 이념성향 대신 인간의 본성과 도덕성에 대한 태도, 사회개혁과 사회권위에 대한 입장 등으로 구성된 이념성향을 측정하였다. 또한 정책에 대한 입장이 개인의 이념성향을 결정하는 것이 아니라, 이념성향이 먼저 결정되며, 거기에 따라 정책에 대한 개인의 인식이나 입장이 나타나는 것이 논리적으로 타당하다고 본다.

IT 발전의 빠른 진보성으로 인해 탄생된 스마트 디바이스는 급격한 대중화가 이루어지고 있다. 많은 사람들이 편리한 기능과 휴대성을 갖춘 스마트 디바이스에 의존하게 되면서 개인 정보 보호를 위한 화면 잠금 기능 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 이에 사용자들은 다양한 화면 잠금 기능을 선택하여 설정 할 수 있다. 다양한 화면 잠금 기능 중에 패턴 락은 직관적인 인터페이스로 인한 편리함과 보안성으로 인해 많은 사용자가 사용하고 있다. 하지만, 패턴 락은 한정된 화면 잠금 패턴 기능을 가지고 있으며 화면 잠금을 해제하는 경우에 쉽게 타인에게 패턴이 노출된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 8-방향성을 기반으로 동작하고 패턴 락의 한정된 패턴 수와 타인에 대한 패턴 노출을 개선하여 보안성을 높인 SDL(Smart Device Lock)-8way를 제안한다.
