Direct-Sequence Spread-Spectrum Systems for Interference Signal Control (직접 대역 확산 시스템을 위한 간섭 신호 제어)

  • In this paper, we propose a frequency-domain interference cancellation algorithm for direct-sequence spread spectrum systems. In the previously proposed frequency-domain interference cancellation algorithms that protocol defines the rules concerning the collection of means of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP: Transmission Control Protocol) is the most widely used in the transport layer. Two-way traffic through the network path to the same end-to-end transfer of data in the opposite direction between pairs of nodes are infused with two or more TCP connection using the network traffic patterns from the exchanger and routers share results of approval. Per-flow input/output structure of matter using the LTS online reaction when evaluated as this is the most important factor. TCP-MT when the connection duration is one of the largest performance gains.

Admission Control for Voice and Stream-Type Data Services in DS-CDMA Cellular System (직접 대역확산 부호분할 시스템에서 음성 및 흐름형 데이터 서비스를 위한 호 수락제어 기법)

  • Two flexible admission control schemes for integrated voice and stream-type data services are proposed in DS-CDMA systems. Most Previous studies on admission control have focused on integration of short, bursty Packet-type data services and conventional voice services. However, stream-type data services with a relatively long service holding time are expected to be a considerable portion of data traffic in future generation cellular systems. Scheme I is a basic scheme that accommodates both voice and data services with full bandwidth. However, voice services are given priority over data services using the duration difference between the holding times for these services. Scheme ll uses a different method to efficiently give priority to voice services over stream-type data services. An additional interference margin for voice services is provided by suppressing interference from stream-type data services according to voice access requests and a varying interference status. Performance of the two schemes is evaluated by developing Markovian models. Numerical results show that the voice capacity is highly sensitive to the service holding time of data services while the performance measures of data services are not highly sensitive. Scheme H is a significant improvement over Scheme I for accommodating voice and stream-type data services

The study for analysis of acidity and moisture in paper record by mobile small NIR spectrometer (이동 가능한 소형 근적외선 분광 분석기를 사용한 종이 기록물 내 산성도 및 함수율 분석에 대한 연구)

  • As for quality evaluation of paper records, it is very important to measure acidity and moisture in paper. In the case important paper records, it should be measured directly in field. But ISO standard analytical method would be limited to measure directly in field for quality evaluation of paper records until now. Therefore it could be to use mobile small NIR spectrometer for being analyzed by direct and non-invasive method in field. The wavelength range of small spectrometer has from 900 to 1700 nm, and the surface of paper could be measured by diffused reflected optical fiber probe. Thus, the acidity and moisture could be analyzed on the paper record with from 1970 to 2003. As the result, it could be confirmed to have each more than 0.9 as the correlation of acidity and moisture. Thus, it will be possible to develope the evaluation system of paper record with mobile small NIR spectrometer and optical fiber by the result.

On Adaptive Narrowband Interference Cancellers for Direct-Sequence Spread-Spectrum Communication Systems (주파수대역 직접 확산 통신시스템에서 협대역 간섭 신호 제거를 위한 적응 간섭제거기에 관한 연구)

  • In wireless spread-spectrum communication systems utilizing PN (pseudo noise) sequences, a variety of noise sources from the channel affect the data reception performance. Among them, in this paper we are concerned with the narrowband interference that may arise from the use of the spectral bands overlapped by the existing narrowband users or the intentional jammers as in military communication. The effect of this interference can be reduced to some extent at the receiver with the PN demodulation by processing gain. It is known, however, that when the interferers are strong, the reduction cannot be sufficient and thereby requiring the extra use of narrowband interference cancellers (NIC's) at the receivers. A class of adaptive NIC's are studied here based on different two cost functions. One is the chip mean-squared error (MSE) computed prior to the PN demodulation and used in the conventional cancellers. Since thses conventional cancellers should be operated at the chip rate, the computational requirements are enormous. The other is the symbol MSE computed after the PN demodulation in which case the weights of the NIC's can be updated at a lot lower symbol rate. To compare the performance of these NIC's, we derive a common measure of performance, i.e., the symbol MSE after the PN demodulation. The analytical results are verified by computer simulation. As a result, it is shown that the cancellation capability of the symbol-rate NIC's are similar or better than the conventional one while the computational complexity can be reduced a lot.

A Novel Scheme for Code Tracking Bias Mitigation in Band-Limited Global Navigation Satellite Systems (위성 기반 측위 시스템에서의 부호 추적편이 완화 기법)

  • The global navigation satellite system (GNSS), which is the core technique for the location based service, adopts the direct sequence/spread spectrum (DS/SS) as its modulation method. The success of a DS/SS system depends on the synchronization between the received and locally generated pseudo noise (PN) signals. As a step in the synchronization process, the tacking scheme performs fine adjustment to bring the phase difference between the two PN signals to zero. The most widely used tracking scheme is the delay locked loop with early minus late discriminator (EL-DLL). In the ideal case, the EL-DLL is the best estimator among various DLL. However, in the band-limited multipath environment, the EL-DLL has tracking bias. In this paper, the timing offset range of correlation function is divided into advanced offset range (AOR) and delayed offset range (DOR) centering around the correct synchronization time point. The tracking bias results from the following two reasons: symmetry distortion between correlation values in AOR and DOR, and mismatch between the time point corresponding to the maximum correlation value and the synchronization time point. The former and latter are named as the type I and type II tracking bias, respectively. In this paper, when the receiver has finite bandwidth in the presence of multipath signals, it is shown that the type II tracking bias becomes a more dominant error factor than the type I tracking bias, and the correlation values in AOR are not almost changed. Exploiting these characteristics, we propose a novel tracking bias mitigation scheme and demonstrate that the tracking accuracy of the proposed scheme is higher than that of the conventional scheme, both in the presence and absence of noise.

Efficient Power and Rate Adaptation Strategy for Improved Spectral Efficiency in Multi-Carrier DS-CDMA Communications (다중 반송파 부호분할 다중접속 통신에서의 주파수 효율 향상을 위한 효율적인 전력 및 전송률 적응화 기법)

  • We propose an efficient frequency-time domain resource allocation scheme in multi-carrier (MC) direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS/CDMA) communications. We consider, as a power allocation strategy in the frequency domain, transmitting each user's DS waveforms over the user's sub-band with the largest channel gain. We then consider rate adaptation in the time domain, where the data rate is adapted such that a desired transmission quality is maintained. We analyze the achievable average data rate of the proposed scheme with fixed average transmission power, and compare the performance to single carrier DS/CDMA systems with power and rate adaptations.

  • Joint Tactical Information Distribution System (JTIDS) uses cyclic code shift keying (CCSK) for baseband symbol modulation, in which 5-bit information is mapped to one of thirty two 32-chip sequences. It is a kind of direct sequence based spread spectrum communication. In this paper, the performance of non-coherent detection of CCSK using non-orthogonal 32-chip sequence is evaluated. And a 32-chip sequence with better performance is also proposed and compared with the conventional one.

  • This paper investigates the performance analysis of the packet DS/SS receiver with a PJED(phase-jump error detector) using the block signal processing(BSP) methods. The conventional packet DS/SS block receiver has a high probability of mistaking the phase-jump detection, which causes the frequency estimation error. The conventional receiver uses a Matched-Pulse Timing Extractor which has a complicated structure. The proposed packet DS/SS block receiver with the PJED which uses libearity of the phase has little probability of mistaking the phase-jump detection. The proposed Matched Pulse Timing Extractor gas the more simple structure but obtains the same performance on the exact matched-pluse timing as the conventional one does. The simulation results show that the proposed receiver gives about 2dB improvement in the BER compared with the conventional receiver.

  • The chirp spread spectrum (CSS) technique that spreads the data signal over a wider frequency band via chirp signal for transmission has attracted much attention in the field of wireless communications due to capability to resist multipath fading signals. However, there has been little mathematical analysis for the performance of CSS-based communication systems in the multipath fading environments. In this paper, we study the influence of the multipath channel on the direct modulation (DM) scheme with M-ary phase shift keying (MPSK). When a chirp signal is transmitted on the Rayleigh fading channel and affected by additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN), we derive the theoretical performance. From numerical results, it is confirmed that the analytic symbol error rate (SER) agrees closely with the empirical SER.

  • This paper presents seamless hand off implementation suggesting algorithm and Measuring /testing at the tunnel environment in order to derive the ideal value of wireless data transmission in RF-CBTC train control system modeled by Shinbundang Operation System. In addition, it proposes the ideal value(-57dB) for reducing the re-transmission or frequency interference rate and demonstrates frequency optimization which enables highly reliable data communication in Train control system using wireless communications. Based on these result, Shinbundang phase 2 plan to apply to this system.
