Analysis of the Linear Transformation of Prestressing Tendon Using Equivalent toad Method (등가하중법 관점에서 분석한 프리스트레싱 텐던의 직선이동)

  • Linear transformation theory has been effectively used in the design and analysis of prestressed concrete structures. The underlying assumptions of the theory, which were often overlooked, are investigated in the respect of equivalent load method. As a result, it is found that the same equivalent loading system is produced for all the cases of the linear transformation by the assumptions of the conventional equivalent load method. On the other hand, equivalent loading systems in a strict and accurate sense do not satisfy the classical theories of the linear transformation. Also, it is shown that a little different equivalent loading system from the conventional one is obtained for each linear transformation according to the proposed equivalent load method that is derived from the self-equilibrium property of the tendon-induced forces. Therefore, it can be concluded that the linear transformation theory is valid only when referring to the conventional approximate equivalent load method. The discussions are further extended to the eccentrically located circumferential tendon in the wall of containment structures, where the problem of eccentricity is analyzed also from the view point of the linear transformation.

Approximate Shear Strength Formula Implied in the Generalized Hoek-Brown Failure Criterion (일반화된 Hoek-Brown 파괴조건식에 내포된 전단강도 근사식)

  • Recently, the generalized Hoek-Brown (GHB) failure criterion has been actively employed in various rock engineering calculations, but the analytical form of the corresponding Mohr failure envelope is not available, making it difficult to extend the application of the GHB criterion. In order to overcome this disadvantage, this study proposes a new method to express the tangential friction angle as an explicit function of normal stress by invoking the polynomial best-fitting to the relationship between normal stress and tangent friction angle implied in the GHB failure function. If this normal stress - tangential friction angle relationship is best-fitted with linear or quadratic polynomial function, it is possible to find the analytical root for tangential friction angle. Subsequently, incorporating the root into the relationship between shear stress and tangential friction angle accomplishes the derivation of the approximate Mohr envelope for the GHB criterion. It is demonstrated that the derived approximate Mohr failure envelopes are very accurate in the entire range of GSI value.

  • Approximation' is one of central conceptions in calculus. A basic conception for explaining 'approximation' is 'tangent', and 'tangent' is a 'line' with special condition. In this study, we will study pedagogically these mathematical knowledge on the ground of a viewpoint on the teaching of secondary geometry, and in connection with these we will suggest the teaching program and the chief end for the probable teaching. For this, we will examine point, line, circle, straight line, tangent line, approximation, and drive meaningfully mathematical knowledge for algebraic operation through the process translating from the above into analytic geometry. And we will construct the stream line of mathematical knowledge for approximation from a view of modern mathematics. This study help mathematics teachers to promote the pedagogical content knowledge, and to provide the basis for development of teaching model guiding the mathematical knowledge. Moreover, this study help students to recognize that mathematics is a systematic discipline and school mathematics are activities constructed under a fixed purpose.

Distribution of the Slopes of Autocovariances of Speech Signals in Frequency Bands (음성 신호의 주파수 대역별 자기 공분산 기울기 분포)

  • The frequency bands were discovered which maximize the slopes of autocovariances of speech signals in frequency domain to increase the possibility of segregation between speech signals and background noise signal. A speech signal is divided into blocks which include multiples of sampled data, then those blocks are transformed to frequency domain using Fast Fourier Transform(FFT). To find linear equation by Linear Regression, the coefficients of autocovariance within blocks of some frequency band are used. The slope of the linear equation which is called the slope of autocovariance is varied from band to band according to the characteristics of the speech signal. Using speech signals of a man which consist of 200 files, the coefficients of the slopes of autocovariances are analyzed and compared from band to band.

A Study in Seismic Signal Analysis for the First Arrival Picking (초동발췌를 위한 탄성파 신호분석연구)

  • With consideration of the first arrival picking methodology and inherent errors in picking process, I propose, from the computerization point of view, a practical algorithm for picking and error computation. The proposed picking procedure consists of 2-step; 1) picking the first coherent peak or trough events, 2) derive a line which approximates the record in the interval prior to the pick, and set the intercept time of the line as the first break. The length of fitting interval used in experiment, is few samples less than 1/4 width of the arriving wavelet. A quantitative measure of the error involved in first arrival picking is defined as the time length that needed to determine if an event is the first arrival or not. The time length is expressed as a function of frequency bandwidth of the signal and the S/N ratio. For 3 sets of cross-well seismic data, first breaks are picked twice, by manually, and by the proposed method. And at the same time, the error bound for each trace is computed. Experiment results show that good performance of the proposed picking method, and the usefulness of the quantitative error measure in pick-quality evaluation.

  • 집속음장의 고조파성분을 이용한 초음파영상의 특성을 해석하기 위해 집속된 가우스 음원에 직선 edge를 초점면 및 초점면의 전, 후방에 삽입하여 edge의 후방에서 생성되는 음장을 조사하였다. 계산에서는 그린함수의 간단화를 위해 Fresnel근사를 이용하였고, 실험에서는 성형전극을 형성시킨 1.9MHz 요면진동자에 의한 가우스분포의 음장을 갖는 초음파빔에 수직하게 edge를 삽입시켰다. 음장의 이론해석 및 실험결과, 초점면의 제2고조파의 빔형상을 제외하고는 계산치와 실험치가 잘 일치하고 있으며, 제2고조파의 공간 분해능이 기본파에 비해 높음을 알았다.

  • 승용차나 소형승합차에는 현가장치의 스프링으로 코일스프링을 많이 사용하고 있으며 최근 들어 승차감의 상을 위해 변위의 증가와 함께 스프링 정수가 증가하는 경화 특성 스프링(hardening type spring)을 많이 채택하고 있는데, 이 특성을 나타낼 수 있는 방법 중 하나가 등반경-테이퍼 소재의 코일스프링이다. 이 논문에서는 주어진 차량조건으로부터 이상적인 스프링 특성곡선을 계산하고 이 곡선을 분할하여 직선의 연결로 근사시켜 분할한 수만큼의 직선적 특성의 스프링으로 직렬 연결되어 있다고 가정하여 이 곡선에 근접된 특성을 가지는 등반경-테이퍼 소재 코일 스프링의 설계방법을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 집속음장이 고조파성분을 이용한 초음파영상의 특성을 해석하는 초기단계로서 음축에 수직하게 놓인 강체판의 직선 edge가 집속 가우스빔을 회절시킨다고 가정하고, edge의 전후에서 발생하는 제 2고조파를 고려해서 회절음장을 해석하였다. 계산에서는 그린함수의 간단화를 위해 , Fresnel 근사를 이용하였고 실험에서는 성형전극을 형성시킨 요면 압전진동자에 의한 1.9MHz 집속가우스음원에 의해 만들어지는 초음파 빔에 수직하게 edge을 삽입시켰다. 회절 edge 후방에서 음장을 관측한 결과, 제 2고조파의 빔형상을 제외하고는 계산치와 실험치가 잘 일치하고 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 영상처리 기법 중 하나인 이진 영상에 대한 골격화를 이용한 새로운 형상 기술자를 제안한다. 내용기반 영상 검색에서 형상을 이용하는 것은 가장 우세하고 인간이 가장 쉽게 인지할수 있는 방법 중의 하나이다. 형상을 이용한 검색을 위해 서는 인간이 인지하는 형상에 대한 정보를 간략화시킬 수 있는 기술자가 필요하다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 골격을 이용한 형상 기술자는 물체의 중요한 정보 중 하나인 골격을 영상 검색에 이용함으로써 기존의 물체가 갖고 있는 복잡한 형상 정보들을 여러개의 직선의 조합으로 간략하게 표현하고 이를 검색에 사용하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 단순한 골격화 외의 다른 형태학적 영상 처리를 이용하여 효과적인 직선 추출을 위한 여건을 마련한다. 그리고 근사화된 직선들이 추출되면 스케일에 대해 정규화 하여 골격을 이루는 직선들의 양 끝점을 형상 기술자로 얻을 수 있다. 각 특징벡터에 대한 정합은 각각의 회전에 대해 유클리디안 거리를 이용한다. 실험 결과, 제안된 방법이 자세한 부분보다는 대략적인 형상 검색과 동일한 카테고리의 데이타 집합에서 부분적인 변화에 대해 우수한 성능을 나타낸다는 것을 알 수 있다.

The implementation of the content-based image retrieval system using lines and bezier curves (직선과 bezier 곡선을 이용한 내용기반 화상 검색시스템의 구현)

  • This paper describes the content-based image retrieval system that is implemented to retrieve images using constituent rate of lines and Bezier curves. We proposed the line and Bezier curve extraction algorithm which extracts lines and curve that are fitted on the contour information of images. For this extration, it was necessary to remove internal area of the proprocessed object within images and to approximate its contour to polygon, and proposed retrevial algorithm which gets the simularity using the consitituent rate of lines and curves and perform the simularity matching.
