  • The Paper describes a dc/nc power comparator for measurement of power. Based on a thermal principle, the instrument performs ac-dc transfer and absolute power and energy measurements in the range of currents from 0 to 5 A, voltages from 60 to 240 V, power factors from 0 to 1 and frequencies from 50 to 1000 Hz. The ac-dc transfer accuracy is better than 20 ppm at unity power factor and better than 50 ppm at 0.5 power factor.

통신 함체 냉각용 알루미늄과 플라스틱 열교환 소자의 성능 비교 (Aluminum and Plastic Heat Exchange Element : A Performance Comparison for Cooling of Telecommunication Cabinet)

  • Heat generation rate in a telecommunication cabinet increases due to the continued usage of mobile devices. Insufficient removal of heat intensifies the cabinet temperature, resulting in the malfunction of electronic devices. In this study, we assessed both aluminum and plastic heat exchangers used for cooling of the telecommunication cabinet, and compared the results against theoretical predictions. The aluminum heat exchanger was composed of counter flow parallel channels of 4.5 mm pitch, and the plastic heat exchangers were composed of cross flow triangular channels of 2.0 mm pitch. Samples were made by installing two plastic heat exchangers in both series and parallel. Results showed that the heat transfer rate was highest for the series cross flow heat exchanger, and was least for the aluminum heat exchanger. The temperature efficiency of the series cross flow heat exchanger was 59% greater than that of the aluminum heat exchanger, and was 4.3% greater than that of the parallel cross flow heat exchanger. In contrast, the pressure drop of the parallel cross flow heat exchanger was significantly lower than other samples. The heat exchange efficiency was also the largest for the parallel cross flow heat exchanger. The theoretical analysis predicted the temperature efficiency to be within 3.3%, and the pressure drop within 6.1%.

소형 직교류 열교환기의 열적 특성에 관한 연구 (Thermal Characteristics of Cross-flow Small Scale Heat Exchanger)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 예혼합방식의 버너 앞에 소형 열교환기를 설치한 후 당량비를 변화시킬 때 NOx와 CO의 배출특성을 검토하고 열교환기 유용도와 엔트로피 생성수를 실험결과를 바탕으로 계산한 것이다. 실험결과 당량비가 증가할수록 화염온도가 높아지면서 열전달율은 상승한다. 배기가스 오염물질량과 유용도를 고려할 경우 본 실험범위에서의 적정 운전당량비는 0.75이다. 유용도를 증가시키고 엔트로피 생성량을 줄이기 위해서는 연소가스의 열전달량을 증가시켜야 하며 따라서 열교환기 면적을 증가시키는 것이 필요하다고 판단된다.

  • Heat transfer and pressure drop for ${\phi}10.07$ dry surface fin-tube heat exchanger with wave and wave-slit fins were measured for different fin spacings and number of tube rows. Longitudinal and transverse tube spacings of the heat exchangers are 21.65mm and 25mm respectively, and wave depth of wave fin is 1.5mm. The experiments were performed for 4 different fin spacings, 1.3, 1.5, 1.7 and 2.0mm, and the number of tube rows were 1,2 and 3 rows. The present results were compared with the previous results for the wave depth of 2mm. Also hydrophilic coated and bare fins were tested. Correlations for Colburn j-factor and friction factor were developed.

  • Increased fossil fuel consumption causes global warming, environmental pollution, and abnormal climate change. Wind-generated power installation is proposed to solve this problem. Recently, the wind power plant construction case encourages the installation of the energy storage system (ESS) to improve the intermittency of wind power. The maximized ESS operation profits connected to wind power are not generated in the simplest operation pattern of charging at night and discharging at day. The battery charging efficiency improvement should be considered to get more profits. Thus, there is a possibility of increasing ESS operation profits by analyzing the battery AC and DC charging/discharging efficiency and the yearly average sealed maintenance free (SMP) in hours. In this paper, the battery impedance characteristic, AC and DC charging/discharging efficiency, and the yearly average SMP are analyzed. The operation scenario to improve the ESS battery charging efficiency connected to wind power is proposed and verified via simulation.

  • Air side heat transfer and pressure drop for fin-tube heat exchanger with wave and wave-slit fins were measured for various fin spacings and number of tube rows. Outer diameter of the tube including fin collar is 10.07mm, and experiments were done with dry surface condition. Longitudinal and transverse tube spacings of the heat exchangers are 21.65mm and 25mm respectively, and wave depth of the wave fin is 2mm. Experiments were conducted for 1, 2 and 3 rows and 3 different fin spacings, 1.3, 1.5 and 1.7mm. An attempt was made to demonstrate advantage of the enhanced fins over the plane fin by introducing the concept of fan power, Effect of the number of tube rows on heat transfer was discussed in connection with general mechanisms of heat transfer enhancement for fin-tube heat exchanger. Also the effect of hydrophilic coating was investigated. Lastly, correlations for Colburn j-factor and friction factor were developed.

주방환기용 직교류 알루미늄 열교환기의 성능해석 및 시험 (Performance Analysis and Testing of a Cross-Flow Aluminum Heat Exchanger for Kitchen Ventilation)

  • Thermal performance model was developed for a cross-flow aluminum heat exchanger with relatively short passage. Appropriate heat transfer coefficient and friction factor equations for laminar channel flow were obtained considering developing regions. The heat exchanger was analyzed using the unmixed cross-flow ${\epsilon}$-NTU relationship considering leak-age between streams. Thermal contact between corrugations and plates was also considered. Tests were separately conducted for two samples - one made of non-treated aluminum sheets, and the other made of varnish-treated ones. The samples were made by stacking corrugations and plates one after another. The model adequately predicted the thermal performance and pressure drop of the non-treated heat exchanger. The thermal performance of the varnish-treated one was $7{\sim}12%$ overpredicted, and the pressure drop of the varnished-treated heat exchanger was $5{\sim}15%$ underpredicted. The air leakage ratio of the non-treated heat exchanger was $23{\sim}26%$. The ratio decreased to less than $10%$ with the varnish treatment.

이차원 다중젯트의 유동 및 열전달 특성의 수치적 해석(I) -돌출열원이 없는 경우의 유동특성- (A Numerical Analysis of Flow and Beat Transfer Characteristics of a Two-Dimensional Multi-Impingement Jet(I))

  • A numerical study for a two dimensional multi-jet with crossflow of the spent fluid has been carried out. Three different distributions of mass-flow rate at 5 jet exits were assumed to see their effects upon the flow characteristics, especially in the jet-flow region. For each distribution, various Reynolds numbers ranging from laminar to turbulent flows were considered. Calculations drew the following items as conclusion. 1) The development of the free jets issued from downstream jets was hindered by the crossflow formed due to jets. Consequently, the free jet was developed into the channel flow without any evident symptom of impingement jet flow characteristics 2) The crossflow induced the pressure gradient along the cross section of jet exits and the value of the pressure gradient increased as going downstream. The crossflow generated also the turbulent kinetic energy as it collied with the downstream jets. 3) The skin friction coefficient along the impingement plate was affected more by the distribution of mass flow rate at jet exits rather than by the Reynolds number. The skin friction coefficient was inversely proportional to the square root of the Reynolds number, regardless of flow regime when a fully developed flow was formed in the jet flow region. 4) The distribution of the skin friction coefficient along the impingement plate was found to be controlled by adjusting the distribution of mass flow rate at jet exits.

  • 본 연구에서는 널리 사용되는 핀-관 직교류 열교환기의 정상 상태를 예측 하기 위하여 냉매의 상변화에 따른 유체의 물성치, 열전달계수 및 마찰계수의 변화와 관벽에서의 축방향 열전도를 고려한 모형을 세우고 이를 분석하여 열교환기의 종합적 인 특성을 규명하고자 한다.

홍수터 식생에 의한 하천의 수리특성 연구 (A Study on Hydraulic Characteristics of River with Floodplain Vegetation)

  • 기존의 하천관리는 이 치수에 중점을 두었다면 최근에는 환경의 중요성을 인식하고 하천복원사업을 통해 주변환경을 개선하여 자연과 공존하는 방향으로 바뀌고 있다. 하천에 분포하는 다양한 종류의 식생은 지형변화, 유속 및 수위 변화 등 직 간접적으로 하천에 영향을 미치고 있다. 따라서 효과적인 하천관리를 위해서는 하천흐름에 대한 식생의 영향을 이해하고 분석하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 다차원 수리 수질 통합분석이 가능한 EFDC모형을 이용하여 홍수터 식생에 의한 하천의 수리특성 변화를 모의하였다. 금강수계 공주보~백제보 구간에 대한 수치지도 및 수심측량 정보를 바탕으로 작성된 3차원 정밀지형도와 30~50 m 간격의 직교곡선격자망을 이용하여 지형을 구축하고, 홍수터 식생에 의한 흐름저항을 반영하기 위한 현장조사를 통해 작성된 식생분포지도를 토대로 교목류(Tree), 관목류(Shrub), 초본류(Herb), 수체(Water) 4가지로 구분하여 분포밀도, 흉고직경, 교목의 높이를 모형에 적용하였다. 2일 간의 보 운영조건에 따라 상류의 공주보 방류량과 하류의 백제보 수위를 경계조건으로 분석을 실시하고, 동일기간 61개 관측지점 중에서 상 중 하류 4개의 임의지점에 대하여 유속측정결과와 모의결과의 비교를 통해 모형을 검증하였다. 홍수터가 완전히 잠겨 식생의 영향을 크게 받는 고유량 조건에 대하여 식생의 적용 여부에 따른 수리특성 변화를 살펴본 결과 홍수터의 경우 일부구간에서 유속이 감소하였으나 인근 주수로의 유속은 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 하천수위의 변화는 미미한 것으로 나타났다.
