Dynamic Response of Building Structures Induced by Subway Operation (지하철 진동에 의한 건축구조물의 진동특성)

  • Noise and vibration induced by subway operation are one of the major factor that annoy residents living near the subway tracks. In general, lateral vibration is the major concern when we are considering vibration of a building. However, the vertical vibration is the major concern in considering the vibration induced by the subway operation. Analysis model for the vertical vibration of the structure should consider the effect of beam vibration. Thus, the same model used for the lateral vibration analysis can not be used for an analysis of vertical vibration of the structure. Appropriate analysis model which can consider the inertia force of the beam is necessary when analyzing a structure for the vertical vibration. Modeling technique for the vertical vibration analysis of structures has been studied on this paper. It is recommended to use one or more elements for columns and to use two or more elements for beams when analyzing structures for vertical vibration induced by subway operation.

  • 효율적인 진동환경관리를 위해 GIS Software를 사용하여 개발된 진동환경관리시스템(Vibration Management System : VMS)을 점진동원과 선진동원에서의 진동관리에 적용하였다. 점진동원에 의한 진동관리를 위해서는 발파진동을 예로 들었으며, 선진동원의 경우는 지하철 운행시의 교통진동에 의한 인근지역에서의 진동환경을 분석하였다.

  • Passengers in automobile or train are exposed to a worse noise environment when they are in the tunnel than in the open field. This is due to a relatively higher space density of sound energy by multiple reflection phenomenon of noise generated by operation of transportation vehicles from tunnel wall compared to open field. In this study, noise characteristics of subway train running through a tunnel were investigated at straight/curved track and tunnel type(semi circular/box). Also the noise measured simultaneously at inner and outer sides of train running through a tunnel, so that the coherence of the various noise sources of subway train to inner noise was evaluated.

  • Subway is used as a useful transportation method to solve the metropolitan traffic problem for its advantages of being not only accurate, safe and massive, but also of not producing any exhaustion gas in compare with the other ground transportation systems. However, noise inside the car due to concrete based rail track and tunnel structure has become a social problem. So, an analysis on the noise characteristics according to their routes and locations was made on the basis of the actually measured results from the trial run. To reduce the interior noise of subway train, the side part of rolling stock should have a noise blocking system fur low band frequency noise, the floor of it should have that for medium range frequency noise and the side part as well as lower part of it should have good noise reduction and absorption function.

  • In this paper the characteristics of vibration induced by subway trains running on track is discussed. The quantitative prediction of the vibration level and the countermeasure for reduction of necessary, is of importance for the better environment. It was made the constructed Bundang line as first step with the modified Young-Dan type to basis on the Japanese Young-Dan type. In this paper it was measured and analyzed to two region ($ \circled1$Susuh-Bokjung. $ \circled2$Chorim-Suhyun region) of this. at present, operational Bundang line when averaging velocity of train is 60 (km/h). As the response characteristics of frequency Induced by subway operation, it was confirmed that frequency band of neighborhood of 30~80 Hz in generally dominant. Also to assess the quantitative nitration as response level to be measured for each point of two region in subway operation, the vibrational response level was measured at the state to be not subway operation. And the level was approximately $\fraction one-fifth~\fraction one-ten$ level comparing to subway operation.

Development and Shaking Table Tests of a Base Isolator for Controling Subway Train-Induced Vibration of a Steel Building (지하철 진동에 대한 철골건물 기초진동 절연장치의 개발 및 진동대 실험)

  • In this study a conventional rubber mount and a new form of base isolator made of steel spring coated with natural and articial rubber were manufactured and tested on a shaking table to investigate the capacity of reducing the vertical vibration of a building induced by subway train. The model structure used in the test is a 1/4 scaled steel structure, and a white noise input and train vibration records were used to check the effectiveness of the isolators. According to the results all three types of isolators turned out to perform effectively in reducing the acceleration and the natural rubber-coated one is ranked best among the isolators. However the vertical displacement of the model is increased due to the instolation of the bearings, and the safty against the lateral load induced by earthquake ground motion should be provided to be able to apply the system to the real buildings.
