Deformation Capacity of Existing Moment Connections retrofitted with Horizontal Stiffeners (수평스티프너로 보강된 모멘트 접합부의 변형능력)

  • 최근에 수행된 철골모멘트 접합부의 실험 및 해석결과에 의하면, 기둥으로 각형강관을 가진 접합부가 H형강을 기둥으로 사용하는 접합부에 실험체에 비해서 조기에 스캘럽 단부에서 취성파단이 발생하는 열등한 변형능력을 나타냈다. 이는 각형강관 기둥의 면외변형에 따른 보 웨브의 모멘트 전달효율의 저하, 스캘럽이 가지는 노치효과 및 합성보의 구속효과가 주요원인으로 밝혀졌다. 실험결과는 또한 개선된 수평스티프너로 하부 플랜지를 보강한 실험체는 우수한 변형능력을 가짐을 보였다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 영향을 고려하여, 다양한 수평스티프너로 보강된 접합부에 관한 유한요소해석을 실시하였다. 해석결과를 바탕으로 파일럿 테스트를 실시한 결과, 수평스티프너로 보강된 RBS 접합부 (SR)와 연장된 수평스티프너를 가진 접합부(LH)는 우수한 변형능력을 보였다.

  • 구조물로부터 측정된 가속도 시간이력을 이용하여 구조손상을 찾아내고 평가하는 기법을 제시하였다. 구조계의 손상을 찾아내는 알고리즘의 주요한 수단으로써 parametric system identification 방법을 사용하였고 매개변수화된 구조물의 최적 매개변수를 추정하기 위해 구속된 비선형 최적화기법을 사용하였다. 손상된 부재를 분리하기 위한 방법으로서 적합적 매개변수 모음법을 적용하였고 손상의 정도를 통계적으로 평가하기 위하여 측정된 가속도 시간이력에 time window 기법을 적용하였다. 가속도 이력 측정에 있어서의 불충분성과 측정오차를 고려하여 알고리즘을 개발하였고, 조화진동하중으로 구조물을 가진하여 구조 손상을 진단하는 수치모의 실험을 실시하였다.

  • This research investigates the hysteretic behavior of composite beams with web opening near the beam end. The objective of this research is to intend a ductile failure around the web opening subjected to cyclic loading prior to the potential brittle failure at the beam-to-colum connection. Experimental tests of two specimens having different location of opening were conducted resulting in better performance of strength and ductility at the specimen of middle opening compared with that of upper opening. Also, comparisons of experimental and theoretical results were carried out.

  • Dynamic loads may arise from rotating parte of pump if they are insufficiently balanced. The magnitude of pump induced vibrations varies according to the weight, eccentricity, and unbalanced mass of pump. This is a study to estimate the pump induced vibration in time and frequency domain by transfer function. The transfer function has real and imaginary information of signals, and response function has also real and imaginary information. So the vibration force can be obtained from the response and transfer function by complex calculation. The amplitudes and components of 50Hp pump vibration force are suggested.

  • 조화진동하는 점진원에 의한 반무한 탄성체의 응답해석을 수행해 탄성체의 임의의 깊이에서의 응답을 나타내는 계산식을 유도했다 이결과는 최근 연구개발이 진행되고 있는 조화진원에 의한 정밀 지하구조탐사에 중요한 이론적 바탕이 된다. 먼저 실용상 중요한 수평가진에 의한 응답을 계산했다 표면에 큰 응답이 표면파의 형태로 발생하지만 수평진원의 에너지 방사형태는 지향성을 가지고 있어 진원아래의 원뿔형의 영역이 크게 여기된다는 사실을 밝혔다.

  • The seismic response characteristics of a port structure were investigated by the earthquake analyses of the structure subjected to high-, low-frequency component, and Uljin earthquakes. In the Fluid-Structure-Soil Interaction(FSSI) analysis, the fluid is modeled by the 4-node quadrilateral element which is a modification of a structural plane element, and the port structure and foundation is modelled by the plane strain element. Since the present method directly models the fluid-structure-soil interaction system using finite element method, it can be easily applied to the dynamic analysis of a 2-D fluid-port-soil system with complex geometry. The results of the seismic coefficient. added mass, and FSSI methods are compared. The results showed that the earthquake with high frequency components more affects the seismic response of the structure than that of low frequency components.

  • This paper summarizes a study on the application of the friction pendulum system in bridge seismic isolation. Shaking table tests have been carried out on a model structure isolated with F.P.S and the obtained structural responses are compared to those of non-isolated. It can be concluded the F.P.S increases the earthquake resistance capacity of the isolated structure. It is also found that the stiffness of bearing, being controlled by the radius of curvature of the spherical sliding interface, is unaffected by the amplitude of the input excitation. Furthermore, the coefficient of sliding friction is velocity dependent so that in weak excitation the sliding velocity is low and, accordingly, the mobilized friction force is less than the one mobilized in strong excitation. Also, the frictional properties of the bearings remain markedly stable after extensive testing, and the permanent displacements are small and not cumulative in successive earthquakes.

A Modification Technique of Finite Element Model for Dynamic Analysis under Multiple Support Excitations (다지지점 가진에 대한 동적해석을 위한 유한요소모형의 수정기법)

  • This paper presents a simple modification technique of finite element model for dynamic analysis of linear/nonlinear structural system subjected to multiple support excitation. For the sake of verification of the proposed method, dynamic responses obtained by the present technique for a couple of linear and nonlinear structural systems were compared with those by a general-purpose structural analysis software which can deal with the multi-support analysis. The method presented in this paper is expected to be used for multiple support excitation analysis by means of a computer code without the capability of modeling the non-synchronous support motion.

  • The dynamic interactions between the reactor vessel and the control element drive mechanisms (CEDMs) of a pressurized water reactor are studied with the simplified mathematical model. The CEDMs are modeled as multiple substructures having different masses and the reactor vessel as a single degree of freedom system. The explicit equation for the frequency responses of the multiple substructure system are presented for the case of harmonic base excitations. The optimum dynamic characteristics of the CEDMs are presented to reduce the dynamic responses of the reactor vessel. The mathematical model and its response equations are verified by finite element analysis for the detailed model of the reactor vessel and the CEDMs for the harmonic base excitations. It is finally shown that the optimal dynamic characteristics of the CEDM presented can be applicable for the aseismic design.

  • Seismic design forces for bridge components may be determined by modifying elastic member forces of design earthquakes using appropriate response modification factors according to the national design code of bridges Modeling technique of pile foundation system is one of the important parameters which greatly affects the results in the process of the elastic seismic analysis of a bridge system with pile foundation. In this paper, a approximate and simplified modeling technique of a pile foundation system for the practical purposes is presented. The modeling technique is based on the stiffnesses of pile foundation during earthquake. The horizontal stiffnesses are determined from the resistance-deflection curves derived from the results of dynamic field tests using cyclic loads and the vertical stiffness includes the effects of the end bearing capacities and side friction of piles as well as the pile compliances under the expected vertical load level. The applicability of the proposed technique has been validated through the some example bridge analyses.
