This study shows that the Argovian Cantonal School in Aarau, Switzerland, which Albert Einstein attended from 1895 to 1896, had been closely related to the ideological education controversy in German Gymnasium throughout the 19th century. Due to this controversy, Einstein hardly received a formal science education in Bavaria. Despite the lack of formal education in Germany, he had a habit of self-studying from an early age and continued with this practice all through his life. He had a hard time at the authoritarian school in Munich, but at the democratic school in Aarau, where freedom and autonomy were secured, he was able to achieve emotional stability. For a long time, the city Aarau prevailed as a location of tolerance and multi-culturalism, without religious, regional, and national discrimination. This was possible due to the influence of external and unrestricted social mobility, as well as the Enlightenment from France. As a result, this small public school was able to acquire a mass of qualified human resources from outside of Switzerland. As a consequence of the controversy regarding the educational ideology, the Cantonal School adopted practical thoughts and the Enlightenment that fit the spirit of the times. The school consisted of two independent educational organizations: the Gymnasium, where the 'neuhumanistsch' education for the elite training was conducted, and the 'Gewerbeschule', where a more realistic education system was set up to suit the citizen life. In particular, after 1835, the Gymnasium changed gradually from the pure humanistic education to the 'utraquistisch' ways by introducing practical subjects such as natural history. Thereafter, the Cantonal School became an institution that was able to achieve a genuine humanity, academic, and civic life education. Einstein, who attended the 'technische Abteilung' of the 'Gewerbeschule,' considered this school as a role model of an institution that realized true democracy, and that left an unforgettable impression on him.
This study aims to confirm the conditional direct effect of career development pressure on the effect of career continuous learning on career success through a sense of professional mission among Chinese young teachers in a university. Data were collected through a survey targeting 354 Chinese young teachers purposively sampled at a university in Guangdong, China. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS PC+ Win ver. 25.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro ver. 4.2. The applied statistical methods were frequency analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and conditional direct effect analysis. The conclusion of the study is as follows. First, a sense of professional mission had a significant positive correlation with career success but was found to have no significant correlation with career development pressure. Career development pressure showed a significant negative correlation with career success. Second, the conditional direct effect of career development pressure was confirmed in the effect of career continuous learning on career success through a sense of professional mission. Based on these results, this study proposed a plan to simultaneously utilize not only career continuous learning but also a sense of professional mission and career development pressure for young teachers' career success.

This study provides the insight into the aged employment provision issue for the aged-low growth era. For the purpose, we analyze the national trend of the age demographic and occupational employment in first. And then we investigate the spatial characteristics of employment of the aged in the Seoul Metropolitan area which has the highest elderly population by utilizing location quotient, factor analysis, and K-means cluster analysis. As the result, we found that the spatial distribution patterns of the residence and workplace of the elderly were nearly coincided with each other. Furthermore, five clusters of the aged distribution have been determined according to the industrial-occupational-demographic attributes. The result revealed clear spatial segrmentation: Most of elderly population of the research area have been engaged in the low-level service jobs, while elderly population employed to the educated-knowledged based high-level jobs has been distributed at a few cores. The results could be applied to the practical use for regional employment planning for the aged.
Purpose: This study examined the effects of a hospice palliative education program for adults on their perception of hospice, attitude towards death, and meaning of life. Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design. Among 43 participants, 22 were assigned to the non-equivalent experimental group and 21 to the control group. The hospice palliative education program comprised 10 three-hour sessions, each given once a week. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test and ${\chi}^2-test$ using SPSS version 20.0. Results: Significant differences between the experimental and control groups were observed in their perception of hospice (t=6.63, P<0.001), attitude towards death (t=2.36, P=0.023), and meaning of life (t=5.06, P<0.001). Conclusion: The results indicate that this education program could positively affect the perception of hospice, attitude toward death, and meaning of life in adults. More studies are warranted to explore the effects of this education program for various age groups so that it may help more people get positive understanding of hospice palliative care. The results suggest this program could help improve the negative perception of hospice, negative attitude towards death and meaning of life that are generally held by the public.

The purpose of this paper is to verify the mediating effect of peer relations and self-esteem in the relationship between the effects of deficiency of children using local children's centers on school life adaptation. The survey subjects were selected from 424 students in the first year of middle school who were used the local children's center, and analyzed using data from the 4th of the local children's center. Summarizing the analysis results, peer relationships were found to have a complete mediating effect in the relationship between deficiency and school life adaptation. Second, it was verified that self-esteem has a partial mediating effect in the relationship between deficiency and school life adaptation. Children using local children's centers experience deficiencies in various areas of society, but as can be seen from the results of this study, it was suggested that they can help adapt to school life by promoting self-esteem and peer relationships. Therefore, we would like to propose the development of programs and practical implications for promoting children's adaptation to school life, and the expansion of the field of children's research using local children's centers.

Child abuse and neglect are recently increasing in Korea, and although the government has actively improved the child protection system, the number of abused children and the rate of cases judged as abuse have continuously risen. Given that 75% of child abusers are parents, child abuse and neglect are expected to recur. To prevent such a recurrence, various intervention programs for abused children and their parents are required. The purpose of this study were to design a recovery support service process and investigate the effectiveness of pilot program for families of origin, including neglected(protected) children, to improve the system by which these programs are operated, and formulate policy alternatives that reinforce "family preservation" principles. The pilot program was implemented from June to November 2020 in 4-local healthy family support center. The number of program participants and the frequency of participation in each other differed, because of the difference in number of confirmed coronavirus cases in each region and the requirement for social distancing. Through the program, a community-based service process was developed for neglected(protected) children and their parents, and cooperative networks between related facilities and institutions were established. The study formulated the following recommendations: First, a cooperation system among government departments mandated to provide different services to neglected(protected) children is needed. Second, wider and various channels through which abused children can avail of protective services should be developed within communities. Third, more stable environments for program operation should be cultivated, and cooperative partnerships should be sought for knowledge sharing among relevant government departments. Another necessary measure is for a center to develop its own business model, in which the duplication of services provided by involved organizations is avoided. Finally, clear guidelines, administrative standards, and specific plans for program operation should be arranged. Also regional characteristics are maintained, but services should be standardized.
