청주는 시내곳곳에 많은 문화유산을 간직하고 있는 유서 깊은 역사도시이다. 특히 1985년 발굴되어 사적 제315호로 지정.보호되고 있는 흥덕사지는 1377년에 금속활자 인쇄를 한 곳으로 유명하다. 이 때에 간행된 "백운화상초록불조직지심체요절"은 그 가치를 인정받아 2001년 유네스코 세계기록유산에 등재되었다.

현존 세계 최고의 금속활자본 직지심체요절이 유네스코의 '세계기록유산'으로 등재되면서 세계 각국의 '세계기록유산'은 어떤 것들이 있는지 관심이다. 2003년 8월 말 현재 33개국 68점이 세계기록유산에 올라 있는데 우리나라는 '직지'를 비롯 조선왕조실록, 승정원일기, 훈민정음 해례본이 등재되어 있다. 이에 세계 각국의 기록유산에 대해 청주 고인쇄박물관 이승철 학예연구사의 기고로 연재한다.

In this review, the basic concepts of geodetic coordinate system and map projection are explained to practitioners in exploration geophysicists to enhance the understanding of geographic and projected coordinate system. The fundamental elements such as earth ellipsoid, geoid, geocentric and geodetic latitudes, rhumb line, and great circle are dealt with in detail. The geocentric and geodetic coordinate systems are also summarized neatly, together with coordinate conversion formulae. In addition, the concept and technique for datum transforms between local and world datum are presented, with special emphasis on Korean Geodetic System.

Donguisusaebowon, Kogchigo are wrritten by Dong-Mu. Dokhaengpyun of the Kogchigo has philosophy of Dong-Mu about Gi-In. In order to understand constitutional medicine of Dong-Mu, it is necessary to study about Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Ja(four types of man) in Dokhaengpyun. The results are summarized as follows : 1. In Dokhaengpyu, it is defined that In-Eui-Ye-JI - the nature of human - as In-Ja, Eui-Ja, Ye-Ja, Ji-Ja. This attribute is composed of Chung-Sin-Ip-Yong. We can know that this concept, that is Chung-Sin-Yeum-Hae'Ja, is relative to the Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Ja. 2. We can think and infer the relation of Sabujisim of Myeng-Ja and Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Ja from Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Bu that is attribute of In-Eui-Ye-ji'Ja. Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Ja can approach the behavior of Chung-Sin-Yeum-Hae'Ja, if they heard the attitude of YouHaHye and BaelYi which they have attribute of In-Eui-Ye-Ji'Ja. 3. They explain Tthat Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra-Jisim is quoted from SaBuJiSim of Dahak. Thinking that Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra-Jisim of Dokaengpyun and SaBujiSim of YuRiak, we know that there is no rule. So, it is difficult that we can infer the Simyok and make some pattern. 4. The relationship of Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Ja and In-Eui-Ye-Ji are different from the relationship of Dokhaegpyun, Sadanron, In-Eui-Ye-Ji of YuRiak and Bi-Bak-Tam-Ra'Ja. If we regard the In-Eui-Ye-Ji Sadan as the nature of human, many attritude can be possible and it may be different that apply a Sadan to the proper time and environment. Therefore, we have to be accepted change, as applying method than fixing idea.

We cooperated with four domestic educational astronomical observatories to construct a baseline and perform simultaneous observations to determine the geocentric parallax, distance, and motion of 1036 Ganymed, an Amor asteroid near the Earth. Observations were made on the day when simultaneous observations were possible from September to November 2011. Measured distances of 1036 Ganymed were 0.394 AU on Sept. 26, 0.365 AU on Oct. 11, and 0.340 AU on Oct. 25, respectively, which were within the error range as compared with the measured distances proposed by the US Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The 1036 Ganymed showed a tilting motion during the observation period, and the tangential angular velocities were measured at $0.037-0.052^{{\prime {\prime}}\;sec^{-1}$. Through this study, it was shown that the simultaneous observations among educational astronomical observations can obtain distance measurements with an error range of about 5% for asteroids near 0.4 AU. And it expected to be used as a research & education program emphasizing collaborative observation activities based on a network between observatories.

반만년의 역사를 자랑하는 우리민족이 세계에 내세울 만한 유산은 단연 인쇄문화를 꼽을 수 있지않을까 싶다. 1991년 우리나라가 UN에 가입할 당시 '월인천강지곡 인쇄동판' 을 기증한 것도 우리의 인쇄문화가 세계 어디에 내어놓아도 뒤지지 않는 인쇄 종주국이라는 확신이 있었기에 가능했던 일이다. 남들이 엄두도 못 내던 시절에 일구어낸 인쇄종주국의 칭호는 1972년 프랑스 파리 국제도서전이 열리기 전까지는 우리가 아닌 '쿠텐베르크'의 나라 독일의 것이었다. 1972년. 스스로 최고를 자임하던 인쇄종주국 독일의 위상을 변화시킨 사건이 발생했으니'유럽 동양학회 100주년 기념 책 전시회에 당시만 해도 잘 알려지지도 않은 나라 우리나라에서 인쇄된 '백운화상초록불조직지심체요절 이 출품된 것이었다.

현존 세계 최고의 금속활자본 직지심체요절이 지난해 9월 유네스코의 세계기록문화유산으로 등재됨으로써 5천년 문화민족으로서의 자긍심을 높이고 있다. 이에 따라 우리나라는 기록문화유산 4건을 비롯 해인사대장경판 등 세계문화유산 7건, 무형유산 1건 등 12건의 세계문화유산을 보유하게 됐다. 세계유산 중 가장 많은 부분을 차지하고 있는 것이 ‘인쇄’ 또는 이와 관련된 것들이다. 문화재청의 자료협조를 받아 세계유산에 대해 자세히 알아본다.

우리나라는 인쇄종주국이다. 1972년 독일에 거주하던 박병선박사가 찾아낸 현존 세계 최고의 금속활자본 "직지심체요절"이 독일의 구텐베르크 42행 성서보다 70여년 앞서 인쇄된 것이 입증됐기 때문이다. 박박사의 노력이 없었다면 인쇄종주국을 입증하는데 많은 시간이 걸렸을 것이다. 청주고인쇄박물관은 인쇄역사를 체계화하는 차원에서 최근 박박사 저술의 '한국의 인쇄'를 발행했다. 이 책에는 고대의 인쇄부터 현대의 인쇄까지 우리의 인쇄역사를 자세히 담고 있다. 다음은 '한국의 인쇄'에 게재된 내용 중 붓, 먹, 종이, 제본 분야를 소개한다.

금속활자 인쇄술은 지난 1천 년 동안 인류 문명사에 가장 큰 영향을 준 혁명적인 사건으로 평가 받고 있다. 현존 세계 최고의 금속활자본은 1377년 고려에서 인쇄한 '직지심체요절'이다. 이후 구텐베르크가 1450년 경 인쇄술을 발명했는데 이는 세계 문명사에 큰 영향을 끼쳤다. 세계인쇄사는 금속활자 인쇄의 원조가 고려인가, 독일인가를 놓고 논란이 일기도 했다. 이와 관련, 최근 가상이 첨가된 소설이기는 하나 '구텐베르크 인쇄술은 조선에서 시작되었다'는 책이 출간돼 화제를 모으고 있다. '구텐베르크의 조선'의 저자 오세영 작가를 만나보았다.
