  • In this paper, we have constructed high-resolution topographical map of macro-tidal Malipo beach through integration of terrestrial LiDAR measurement and MBES survey data at inter-tidal zone. To acquire the enough information of inter-tidal zone, we have done terrestrial LiDAR measurement mounted on the roof of vehicle with DGPS through go-stop-scan method at the ebb tide and MBES depth surveying with tide gauge and eye staff measurement for tide correction and MSL calculation at the high tide all together. To integrate two kinds of data, we have unified the vertical coordination standard to Incheon MSL. The mean error of overlapped inter-tidal zone is about 2~6 cm. To verify the accuracy of terrestrial LiDAR, RTK-DGPS measurement have done simultaneously and the difference of Z value RMSE is about 4~7 cm. The resolution of Malipo topographical map is 50 cm and it has constructed to DEM (Digital Elevation Model) based on GIS. Now it has used as an input topography information for the storm-surge inundation prediction models. Also it will be possible to use monitoring of beach process through the long-term periodic measurement and GIS-based 3D spatial analysis calculating the erosion and deposition considering with the artificial beach transition and coastal environmental parameters.

  • A GEN TEST of the auxiliary power unit of a T-50 series aircraft is performed as part of the operational test of its emergency power system on the ground before flight. At this time, the auxiliary power unit should be automatically turned off via the response signal of the ECU when power is not normally supplied to the emergency power system. If the correct operation of the emergency power system cannot be confirmed on the ground, it is not possible to proceed with the flight. This kind of defect is a major factor causing the operation rate of the aircraft to be decreased. The defect code identified by the ECU was confirmed as a defect in the inverter. However, the same defect was found after replacing the inverter. This report presents an improved method of identifying the cause of the defect by analyzing the response characteristics of the ECU and emergency power system and allows the ECU to be recognized as the cause of the defect if the inverter does not generate a voltage within a certain time. Also, the application of the improved method confirmed that it can satisfy the output request time of the emergency power system and effectively prevent the auto-shutdown of the auxiliary power unit.

  • This purpose of this paper was to review the development trend of the VTOL MAVs with a ducted propellant that can fly like the VTOL at intermediate and high speeds, hovering, landing, and lifting off vertically over urban areas, warships, bridges, and mountainous terrains. The MAV differs in flight characteristics from helicopters and fixed wings in many respects. In addition to enhancing thrust, the duct protects personnel from accidental contact with the spinning rotor. The purpose of the U.S. Army FCS and DARPA's OAV program is spurring development of a the VTOL ducted MAV. Today's MAVs are equipped with video/infrared cameras to hover-and-stare at enemies hidden behind forests and hills for approximately one hour surveillance and reconnaissance. Class-I is a VTOL ducted MAV developed in size and weight that individual soldiers can store in their backpacks. Class-II is the development of an organic VTOL ducted fan MAV with twice the operating time and a wider range of flight than Class-I. MAVs will need to develop to perch-and-stare technology for lengthy operation on the current hover-and-stare. The near future OAV's concept is to expand its mission capability and efficiency with a joint operation that automatically lifts-off, lands, refuels, and recharges on the vehicle's landing pad while the manned-unmanned ground vehicle is in operation. A ducted MAV needs the development of highly accurate relative position technology using low cost and small GPS for automatic lift-off and landing on the landing pad. There is also a need to develop a common command and control architecture that enables the cooperative operation of organisms between a VTOL ducted MAV and a manned-unmanned ground vehicle.

  • Playground is frequently used for physical and sports activity by students as well as by common people, which is constructed with various cover materials on the ground. This research surveyed the surface temperature in Kyungpook National University Sangju campus playground which is covered with various cover materials [bare field, zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica) turf field, urethane track, concrete field, epoxy field and artificial turf field] in Sangju, Gyeongsangbukdo, Korea. Temperature was measured 4 times per day at 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, and 18:00 from May to October 2014 in surface and 1 m height above the ground. Surface temperature was different, depending on cover materials and survey time. Bare field and zoysiagrass turf field was lower surface temperature than other sites. Higher surface temperature site was different depending on survey time. Urethane track and artificial turf field was hotter than other sites at 12 and 15 hours, however concrete and epoxy field was hot at 18 hours. One meter above ground temperature was the highest in artificial turf field except at 18 hours. So natural turf, zoysiagrass playground will increase the athletic performance by reduce the surface and above ground temperature.

  • Because the previous simulation tool for attitude control of satellite was designed for the modeling of rigid body and PD controller, the attitude error can be made more than the limitation value for keeping for communication link, and then the communication link can be lost at moving of satellite. So, for rapid attitude restoration and design of stable and modernized controller, the modelling of rigid body and flexible body structure for moving GEO and LEO satellites were performed. Also the minimum time controller is designed for the rapid restoration of attitude error at communication broken and to minimize the disconnection period from ground communication system during the satellite stationkeeping. The linear regulator is designed using the space state vector that is better than accuracy and stability of PD controller. Firstly the simulation was performed for comparison of the rigid and stability of PD controller. Firstly the simulation was performed for comparison of the rigid and flexible models using PD controller and the case of the pitch angle changing by ground command, and the case of the periodic north-south stationkeeping are performed for the analysis of response characteristics of each controller when the attitude is changed. As a result, the flexible body model represents more sililar results of real situation than the rigid body model. The minimum time controller can restore 7 times rapidly than PD controller for its lost attitude. The linear regulator has several merits for capability of adaptation against the external disturbance, stability and response time. In future, we can check the estimated results using this satellite model and controller for real operation. Futhermore the development of new controller and training can be supported.

  • Unlike a terrestrial wireless sensor network which uses radio waves, UWASN(Underwater Acoustic Sensor Network) relies on acoustic waves. There are lots of ongoing researches for long latency and limited bandwidth of underwater sensor network by using acoustic wave. Packets transferred by node often colide in underwater sensor network due to long latency. To solve this kind of problem, in general, Back-off scheme which is used in wireless network is used. However, fixed Slot-time according to node allocation generates useless time delay, and this lowers network performance. In this thesis, active setting technique of Slot-time is proposed, and applied for already studied MAC protocol. At the conclusion, it was proved that the MAC protocol using the proposed scheme has better performance than existing MAC protocol as a result comparison.

  • Compared to terrestrial RF communications, underwater acoustic communications have several limitations such as limited bandwidth, high level of fading effects, and a large underwater propagation delay. In this paper, in order to tackle those limitations of underwater communications and to make it possible to form a large underwater monitoring systems, we propose a hierarchical underwater network architecture, which consists of underwater sensors, clusterheads, underwater/surface sink nodes, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). In the proposed architecture, for the maximization of packet delivery ratio and the minimization of underwater sensor's energy consumption, a hybrid routing protocol is used. More specifically, cluster members use Tree based routing to transmit sensing data to clusterheads. AUVs on optimal trajectory movements collect the aggregated data from clusterhead and finally forward the data to the sink node. Also, in order to minimize the maximum travel distance of AUVs, an Integer Linear Programming based algorithm is employed. Performance analysis through simulations shows that the proposed architecture can achieve a higher data delivery ratio and lower energy consumption than existing routing schemes such as gradient based routing and geographical forwarding. • Recently, as the tactical environment has changedto one of network-centric warfare, where all components are connected through a network, much emphasis has been placed on the use of an artificial satellite for achieving high communication speeds. To provide a high-quality artificial satellite link, stabilization is very important in a platform. Previous stabilization control techniques used PI control, which is commonly used for vessels. However, for ground terminals that require a higher communication speed, the antenna should move faster to track an artificial satellite within a short period of time. Moreover, the terminals must be equipped with proper sensors and algorithms so that they can detect and compensate for external disturbances while tracking the artificial satellite. In this study, through the analysis of the dynamic model of an antenna system, a stabilization algorithm for ground terminals was proposed;this algorithm shows high isolation performance in the low-frequency range and includes $PI^2$ control.

  • In general, in order to obtain position information from satellite images, satellite sensor model which represents the geometric relationship between sensor and targeted area should be established in the first place. However, it is not simple for modelling pushbroom satellite sensor due to the image capturing process. In recent development of new generation imaging sensors, a generic sensor model, which is applicable to all types of sensors such as frame, pushbroom, whiskbroom, and SAR is in great need to the remote sensing and photogrammetry community. In this paper, the RFM as sensor model was implemented with KOMPSAT EOC and SPOT satellite images and analyzed in cases where the number and distribution of ground control points were varied. The test results of RFM were presented and compared with those of Direct Linear Transformation(DLT).
