Prediction of Long-term Behavior of Tunnel in the Presence of Geological Anomalies (지질이상대가 존재하는 구간에서의 터널의 장기거동 예측)

  • Tunnelling through the geological anomalies has widely known to have many difficulties such as bottom heave, crack of lining, squeezing and so on. To stabilize the tunnel during the construction or after construction, various reinforcing methods have been introduced and applied such as micropiling at the bottom of tunnel to prevent the bottom heave. In this study, long-term behavior of tunnel in the presence of geological anomalies was predicted using numerical analyses. To this end, material properties for swelling rock model capable of representing the rock swelling behavior was obtained using matching process with measured data to validate the adopted model. After the model validation, simulations were performed to predict the long-term behavior of tunnel in the geological anomalies.

  • 연약지반으로 분류되는 조간대 퇴적층의 연구는 제한적인 시추자료에 의존하고 있다. 비파괴 지반조사 방법은 시추자료에서 획득할 수 없는 지층의 측방변화와 지질 이상대를 확인할 수 있는 대안이 될 수 있다. 지구물리탐사 방법은 현장 토질조사와 같이 직접적인 지반조사 방법과 병행할 경우 지반을 이해하는데 있어 한층 나은 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 부산신항 배후부지 조성지역에서 매질의 상이한 특성에 기초한 비파괴 지반조사 방법으로 이용되는 지구물리탐사를 실시하였다. 각 탐사의 결과는 서로 유사한 지층경계를 나타내며, 시추와 매립공사의 결과와도 일치한다. 또한 계측을 위해 매설된 침하판이나 매설관로의 탐지, 압밀차이에 의한 부등 침하의 측방변화 등과 같이 시추조사에서 인지하기 어려운 부분에 대한 정보를 제공하고 있다.

A Case Study on the Design of Tunnel Excavation in Geological Anomalies (터널굴착시 지질이상대 통과방안 설계사례 연구)

  • As a result of the detailed site investigation performed for the design of a 4.3 km long tunnel, geological anomalies of four fault zones and a rock boundary were discovered on the tunnel route. Most of all, it was confirmed that pyrite, which may corrode steel material, is contained inside the geological anomalies, and pressured ground water flows out of the fault fractured zone. To overcome these geological conditions, antisulfur concrete for the concrete lining and anticorrosive swelling rock bolts are designed in the pyrite-containing sections. For the sections where a great amount of groundwater outflows, water blocking methods including grouting are applied according to the result of numerical analyses on the seepage. In addition, since the past earthquakes occurred around Korea have take place mainly near fault zones, seismic analyses were performed based on the Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI) concept and the strength of concrete tunnel lining is designed to be 27 MPa from 24 MPa in order to reinforce the tunnel structure.

  • 본 논문에서는 강풍대이면서 중/약진대에 위치하는 초고층건물에 내습할 수 있는 잠재적 지진에 대하여 다양한 지반조건에 따른 응답스펙트럼해석과 내진성능평가를 수행하였다. 국내와 같이 강풍대에 위치하면서 중약진대에 속하는 지진환경하에서 세장비 5.2이상의 초고층 철골대각가새골조는 10%/50년 재현주기 지진동에 대해서는 탄성저항가능성을 나타내었고 세장비 6.9이상의 초고층 철골대각가새골조는 2%/50년 재현주기 지진동에 대해서도 탄성적으로 저항할 수 있음을 보여주었다.

  • To predict ground conditions ahead of the tunnel face, seismic refraction survey has been widely used. But due to the development in seismic equipment and techniques, tomography using borehole and others are actively applied in recent years. This study has a purpose to prevent stability problems during excavation and construction of tunnels by predicting unfavorable ground conditions such as fault, fractured zone and rock quality variation zone ahead of the tunnel face using TSP survey equipment. In this study, the validity of predicting ground conditions ahead of tunnel face by TSP survey has been evaluated through the case study in the road construction site.

  • 강원도는 한반도의 중동부에 위치한 산악 지형으로 구성되어 있다. 해발고도 100m이하의 저지대는 강원도 총면적의 5.6%에 불과하고 100-500m까지의 저산지대가 43.1%, 500-1000m까지의 중산지대가 43.6%, 1000m이상의 고산지대가 7.7%로서 전반적으로 매우 험준한 산세를 이룬다. 동해안을 따라서 NNW-SSW방향으로 발달된 태백산맥과 그의 서쪽에서 서남쪽으로 발달된 차령산맥과 소백산맥은 중국방향(NE-SW)의 지질구조선을 형성하고 있다.(중략)

국내외 지진발생 현황과 국내원전의 안전성 평가

  • 국내 원전은 내진성 확보를 위해 부지의 선정단계에서는 원전의 예상입지를 중심으로 320km 내의 지진특성과 과거지진기록을 면밀히 분석$\cdot$반영하고, 부지중심으로 반경 8km 내에 대해서는 정밀지질조사를 실시하여 단층대나 연약지반 등 지진발생 가능지역은 제외시키고 있으며, 구조물의 설계와 설치시에는 과거의 지진발생기록을 근거로 하여, 발전소 인근지역에서 발생이 가능한 최대 지진과 부지의 지반특성, 그리고 구조물의 하중 등을 복합적으로 고려하여 내진설계하고 있다. 가동중에는 각종 자동지진감시계통이 지진발생 여부를 지속적으로 계측한 후에, 설계지진값의 절반인 지반가속도 0.1g 이상의 지진을 감지하면 자동경보장치를 작동시켜 즉각 운전이 정지되도록 설계되어 있다.

Seismic Performance Evaluation of Highrise Steel Diagrid Frames (초고층 철골대각가새골조의 내진성능평가)

  • This paper is to investigate the possibility of the elastic seismic design for highrise buildings through seismic performance evaluation for potential earthquakes that wind-designed highrise buildings located in strong wind zone and low seismicity can be experienced. Highrise steel diagrid frames which is the most loved structural system in recent years were wind-designed and the substantial system overstrength due to wind design procedure is verified, For the highrise steel diagrid frames, the response spectrum analysis and the seismic performance evaluation by various soil sites were conducted. It was showed that highrise steel diagrid frames with slenderness of greater than 5.2 under strong wind and low seismic zones such as Korea peninsula can resist elastically for the 500 year return period earthquake and have the possibility of seismic design for the 2400 year return period earthquake. In the member level, highrise steel diagrid frames with slenderness of greater than 5.2 all presented the immediate occupancy level regardless of soil sites for the 500 year return earthquake and excluding the $S_E$ soil site for the even 2400 year return period earthquake. In the system level, highrise steel diagrid frames with slenderness of greater than 5.2 showed the immediate occupancy level for $S_A$ and $S_B$ soil sites and the life safety for $S_C$ to $S_E$ soil site in the 500 year return period. The seismic performance level of highrise steel diagrid frames for the 2400 year return period earthquake displayed one step lower than the 500 year return period earthquake.

  • Recently the application of geophysical well logging to geotechnical site investigation is increasing, because the merit that geophysical logs provide the high resolution and in-situ physical properties in volumes of rock surrounding the borehole. Geophysical well logs are used to identify lithologic boundaries and fracture, to determine the physical properties of rock(i.e., density, velocity etc.), and to detect permeable fracture zones that could be conduits for ground water movement through the rocks. The principle of heat-pulse meter, the calibration of gamma-gamma logging, and principles and data processing of full waveform sonic logging are briefly reviewed, and the case studies of geophysical logs are discussed. Correlation between velocity by sonic logging and rock mass classification such as RMR(Rock Mass Rating) value is considered.
