Development of Fire Engine Travel Time Estimation Model for Securing Golden Time (골든타임 확보를 위한 소방차 통행시간 예측모형 개발)

  • In the event of fire, it is necessary to put out the fire within a golden time to minimize personal and property damages. To this end, it is necessary for fire engines to arrive at the site quickly. This study established a fire engine travel time estimation model to secure the golden time by identifying road and environmental factors that influence fire engine travel time in the case of fire by examining data on fire occurrence with GIS DB. The study model for the estimation of fire engine travel time (model 1) covers variables by applying correlation analysis and regression analysis with dummy variables and predicts travel time for different types of places where fire may occur (models 2, 3, 4). Analysis results showed that 17 siginificant independent variables are derived in model 1 and the fire engine travel time differs depending on the types of places where fire occurs. Key variables(travel distance, number of lane, type of road) that are included commonly in the 4 models were identified. Variables identified in this study can be utilized as indicators for research related to travel time of emergency vehicles and contribute to securing the golden time for emergency vehicles.

  • ITS는 내용상 공공성을 강하게 띠고 있기 때문에 그 운영의 담당기관은 대부분 중앙부서.지자체.공기업 등 공공기관이어야 하며, ITS장비의 구매는 주문생산방식을 취하게 될 것이므로 ITS 기술개발은 전형적인 정부주도형 연구개발분야라고 할 수 있다. ITS는 지역별 특성에 따라 기능별로 미분화된 독립적인 시스템의 도입 및 구축이 불가피하다. 따라서 독립성이 강한 시스템간의 정보교환방식의 표준화는 이용자의 편익차원에서 매우 중요하다. 이는 시스템의 효율성 제고를 위해서도 핵심적인 사항이므로 ITS 기술의 표준화 추진을 위하여 정부주도의 연구개발이 효과적이라고 할 수 있다.

A International Comparative Study on the Number of Distribution Channel Levels (운송단계의 국제간 비교에 관한 연구)

  • 현재 도로화물운송을 분석하는데 가장 많이 사용되는 지표는 수송톤(ton)과 톤-키로(ton-km)이다. 하지만 이러한 두 지표는 도로화물운송체계를 설명하기보다는 단순히 운송실적을 나타내는 통계지표이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 한국의 도로화물운송체계를 설명할 수 있는 운송단계, 총 운송거리, 순물동량, 평균운송거리 등의 4개 요소를 추정하였다. 그리고 한국의 도로화물 운송체계의 문제점을 진단하기 위하여 외국이 도로화물운송체계와 비교분석하였다. 본 연구에서 발견된 주요결과는 (1) 한국과 대만은 운송단계와 총 운송거리가 증가하고 평균운송거리는 감소하는 추세를 보였고, (2) 한국과는 대조적으로, 미국, 일본, 네덜란드는 운송단계와 총 운송거리는 감소하고 평균운송거리는 증가하는 변화추세를 보였으며, (3) 시계열 분석결과, 운송단계의 증가는 GDP대비 물류비와 운송비를 증가시키고 운송단계의 감소는 GDP대비 물류비와 운송비를 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과, 한국의 도로화물운송체계는 운송단계를 증가시키는 비효율적인 방향으로 진행되어왔고 이러한 운송단계의 증가는 GDP대비 물류비를 증가시키는 주요 원인임을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 한국의 도로화물운송체계를 개선시키기 위해서는 지능형 화물운송체계의 구축, 복합기능의 화물거점시설 확충, 화물자동차 운송업의 규제완화, 기업물류관리의 선진화 등의 정책을 통하여 불필요한 운송단계의 단축이 필요하다.

  • This paper develops a traffic condition decision algorithm to improve the reliability of traffic information on urban streets. This research is reestablished the criteria of qualitative traffic condition categorization and proposed a new qualitative traffic condition decision types and decision measures. The developed algorithm can be classified into 9 types for qualitative traffic condition in consideration of historical time series of speed changes and traffic patterns. The performance of the algorithm is verified through individual matching analysis using the radar detector data in Ansan city. The results of this paper is expected to help promotion of the traffic information processing system, real-time traffic flow monitoring and management, use of historical traffic information, etc.

Calculation of Greenhouse Gas and Air Pollutant Emission on Inter-regional Road Network Using ITS Information (지능형교통체계(ITS) 정보를 이용한 지역 간 도로의 온실가스 및 대기오염물질 배출량 산정)

  • Conventionally, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the transport sector have been estimated using the fuel consumption (i.e. Tier 1 method). However, the GHG emissions on road networks may not be practically estimated using the Tier 1 method because it is not practical to monitor fuel consumption on a road segment. Further, air pollutant emissions on a road may not be estimated efficiently by the Tier 1 method either due to the diverse characteristics of vehicles, such as travel speed, vehicle type, model year, fuel type, etc. Given these conditions, the goal of this study is to propose a Tier 3 level methodology to calculate $CO_2$ and $NO_X$ emissions on inter-regional roads using the information from ITS infrastructure. The methodology may avoid the under-estimation issue caused by the concavity of emission factor curves because the ITS speed or volume information is aggregated by a short time interval. The proposed methodology was applied to 4 road segments as a case study. The results show that the management of heavy vehicles' speed is important to control the $CO_2$ and $NO_X$ emissions on road networks.

  • ATIS(Advanced Traffic Information System) provide valuable information as the travel time and traffic congestion, detour, traffic accident information to drivers, so it is being in the spotlight. But so far, the study on the consumer satisfaction with providing traffic information is incomplete. So, this study run a Canonical discriminant analysis and a Canonical correlation analysis by a QuantificationIItheory based on a Traffic Information Satisfaction image data through questionnaires, and found out the factors with influence on the consumer satisfaction. And this study definitely found out the correlation between consumer's recognition and traffic information satisfaction through understanding the change on the recognition about traffic information satisfaction by a QuantificationItheory. Finally, this study found out the change on the sensibility recognition of drivers by running the principal component anlysis, developed the traffic information satisfaction evaluation model considering the change on the recognition by using the structural equation model.

  • Dedicated Short Range Communications(DSRC) is a block of spectrum in the 5.8GHz band. DSRC is the useful technology of ITS Service. Japan operates ETCS, VICS by DSRC technology and DSRC technology is used ETCS Standard in Korea. There are many kind of utilization of DSRC in ITS. This is a study for traffic information service and collection with DSRC. Traffic management server service traffic information to driving vehicle by RSE(Road Side Equipment). OBU(Onboard Unit) in vehicle send the information to PDA(Personal Digital Assistant). Client S/W show the information to driver by text, pictogram, sound and return PDA H/W ID to OBU. Server make section traffic information by the PDA H/W ID information.

  • Sketch-Planning based ITS Deployment Analysis System is an analysis tool for determining the impacts, benefits, and costs of various intelligent transportation system (ITS) deployments. This methodology offers one tool that systematically assesses ITS scenarios to facilitate the integration of such scenarios into the ongoing transportation planning process. Sketch-planting based methodology can estimate relative impacts, benefits, and costs for more than 60 types of ITS investments deployed in isolation or in any combination defined by the user.

  • As ICT technology develops, researches on the construction of communication system for the rapid processing using ICT technology in case of traffic accidents are actively under way. e-Call (Emergency call) is a vehicle ICT-based emergency rescue system that recognizes and reports traffic accidents. On the other hand, the existing bus information system collects the positioning data through the position tracking system mounted on the bus and transmits it to the center, and then provides various services based on the bus information of the collected buses. In this paper, we designed and implemented an emergency rescue system that using the existing bus information system in order to deal with accidents, failures, and emergency situations on public buses quickly.
