  • In the transportation sector, reducing total vehicle mileage and passenger vehicle traffic are proposed as strategies to achieve carbon neutrality. To achieve this, MaaS services must be actively promoted with the goal of revitalizing public transportation. In order to promote MaaS, individual movement data is required, such as the individual's means of movement, route, and conversion of the individual's means of use. However, in Korea, there are legal limitations in collecting and utilizing data on individual movements. As the right to request transmission of personal information was newly established in the revised Personal Information Protection Act in 2023, a law was established to collect and utilize data on individual movements. However, enforcement ordinance, detailed rules, instructions, guidelines must be prepared, and the standardization of data format and transmission system for collecting my data needs to take precedence.

  • C-ITS is an intelligent transportation system that can improve transportation convenience and traffic safety by collecting, managing, and providing traffic information between components such as vehicles, road infrastructure, drivers, and pedestrians. In Korea, road infrastructure is being built across the country through the C-ITS project, and various services such as real-time traffic information provision and bus operation management are provided. However, the current state-of-the-art road infrastructure and information linkage system are insufficient to build C-ITS. In this paper, considering the continuity of time in various spatial aspects, we proposed a group-type network-based traffic situation recognition system that can recognize traffic flows and unexpected accidents through information linkage between traffic infrastructures. It is expected that the proposed system can primarily respond to accident detection and warning in the field, and can be utilized as more diverse traffic information services through information linkage with other systems.

  • A transportation problem is a serious theme to be solved urgently in the motor era of 20 million vehicles. Recently ITS has been introduced to optimize the efficiency of the current roads, because a excess budget and a long term construction are necessary to build new roads. In this paper an outline and major systems of ITS for Ulsan metropolitan city are presented.

  • 도로 이용자의 교통정보에 대한 수요 증가와 효율적인 도로 이용을 위해, 또한 지능형 교통체계(ITS, Intelligent Transport Systems)의 기본 기술로서 교통정보를 수집하여 제공하는 시스템에 대한 개발과 요구가 지속되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 고속도로에서 가장 많이 사용하는 교통정보 수집도구인 차량감지기(VDS)를 활용한 교통 정보 수집 시스템에 관하여 조사하였다. 이러한 차량 검지기를 활용한 교통정보는 차량의 속도와 교통량을 산출하는 데에는 효율적이지만, 공사와 수집 장비 불량으로 인하여 모든 교통 정보를 수집하는데 어려움이 있다. 이로 인해 전체적인 교통상황을 파악하기 위한 새로운 시도와 알고리즘 개발이 요구된다.

Development of A Model for Estimating ITS Market Size in Korea (지능형교통체계(ITS)의 시장예측모형 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) was first introduced in Korea early 1990's, and Korean government has put a lot of efforts for flourishing it in the entire nation. Regardless of these efforts, private participation is not active enough to accelerate ITS implementation in Korea. Expert group made every endeavor to analyze the current situation, and found out some phenomena. It may be summarized as two folds. Firstly, private sector has a lack of confidence on the future ITS market. Budget in the strategic plan is the only publication and guide that private sector can refer to, and it merely indicates deployment costs. Secondly, direction and procedure of R&D are not well defined. It implies that private sector takes too much risk when they invest for R&D. This research, therefore, focuses on the first issues. Concretely, the goal of the project was to establish and analyze the model for estimation the future ITS market side. Author reviewed both quantitative and qualitative models, and concluded that diffusion model in qualitative model was suitable for ITS market estimation. According to model calibration. it is estimated that 14 trillion Won was the market size in 2020 under normal condition. Impact of this result may seduce Information Technology(IT) related private companies into ITS market. Although this research couldn't cover various topics, it nay dedicate in boosting ITS in Korea. Also, it will be a good starting point for further study for the advancement of ITS.

  • ITS의 도입효과평가에 관한 외국의 사례를 검토하고, 이를 토대로 우리나라 실정에 맞는 평가항목, 기준등 평가방안 및 운영프로그램을 마련하였다. 즉, 'ITS'를 기능 측면, 주요기반기술 측면에서 분류하였으며, 해외사례를 중심으로 평가항목 및 결과를 조사, 정리하였다. 또한 이 결과를 바탕으로 ITS 평가를 위한 내용적 분류 및 ITS 체계구성요소와 기반기술별 각종 'ITS' 체계구성요소와 기반기술별 각종 'ITS'의 효과를 평가할 수 있는 항목, 내용 및 평가 운용 프로그램을 개발하였다.

  • Many research activities to reduce accidents on the road and to improve traffic efficiency have been performed and almost research projects are developing technologies and services based on C-ITS technology nowadays. The main concept of C-ITS is improving road safety and traffic efficiency by sharing and reproducing information between various elements. To accomplish this goal, V2X communication technology has been adopted. In Korea, we have studied V2X communication technology in support of SMART-Highway research project and are managing test-bed to verify the developed technology recently. In this paper, we introduce SMART-Highway test-bed and show the procedure and result of V2X communication performance analysis on the test-bed.

Review on Security Communication Environment in Intelligent Vehicle Transport System (지능형 차량 교통체계에서 보안 통신 리뷰)

  • In this paper, we have interested in cooperative intelligent transport system and autonomous driving system, and focused on analysis of the characteristics of Cooperative Awareness Message (CAM) and Decentralized Environmental Notification Basis Service (DENM) message, which is key delivery message among cooperative intelligent transport system (C-ITS) characteristics for research objectivity. For research method, we also described V2X communication, and also analyzed the security certificate and header structure of CAM and DENM messages. We described CAM message, which is a message informing the position and status of the vehicle. And the DENM message is presented a message informing an event such as a vehicle accident, and analysis security communication, which is supported services. According to standard analysis result, 186 bits or 275 bits are used. In addition to the security header and the certificate format used for vehicle communication, we have gained the certificate verification procedure for vehicles and PKI characteristics for vehicles. Also We derived the characteristics and transmission capability of the security synchronization pattern required for V2X secure communication. Therefore when it is considered for communication service of DENM and CAM in the C-ITS environment, this paper may be meaningful result.
