지실과 자초 전탕액 외치법을 병행한 간경변 환자의 노인성 가려움증 치험 1례 (A Case of Liver Cirrhosis Patient`s Senile Pruritus Treated by External Preparation Containing Ponciri fructus and Radix lithospermi)

  • Objectives : Pruritus is a skin disorder that usually occurs in the elderly. The purpose of this study is to report the effect of external preparation containing Ponciri fructus and Radix lithospermi on senile pruritus and xeroderma with liver cirrhosis.Methods : We treated 85-years-old liver cirrhosis patient suffered from itching sensation on the whole body with external preparation containing Ponciri fructus and Radix lithospermi and oral administration of Sodalgeonbitang for 37 days.Results : Despite discontinuing western medical treatment of topical steroids and oral antihistamine, pruritus and erythema of the patient were significantly improved.Conclusions : As for external application, decoction of Ponciri fructus and Radix lithospermi might be effective used for treatment senile pruritus and xeroderma.

흑염소육 증탕액의 저장기간 중 지방 산화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Lipid Ixidation of Black Goat Meat Extracts during Storage Periods)

  • This experiment was carried out to investigated the changes in proximate composition, pH, thiobarbituric acid value(TBA) and fatty acid composition of pure jemsosojoo added medicinal herbs(JMH) and medicinal herbs (MH) during sotrage perid (30days) at 4$^{\circ}C$. Three black goat with 18-19 kg live weight were slaughtered to obtain samples from extracts. The results were as follows ; moisture, crude protein , crude fat content of PJ were higher than other treatment , but ash content in MH was higher than others. Chemical composition did not affect storage period. the ph of the PJ was ranged from 6.47-6.57 , the JMH was ranged from 5.05-5.09, the MH was ranged from 4.68-4.70. The pH of MH was lower than other treatment . The TBA value of all treatment were gradually increased during storage period. Oleic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid were major fatty acids of the PK and the JMH, Especially, linolenic acid and linolenic acid content were higher in the JMH than those of the PJ. Lipid oxidation tend to be delayed with the addition medicinal herbs.

한방치료가 위 미주신경 활성 저하와 유문부 기능 장애가 병발된 기능 소화불량중 환자에 미치는 선택적 효능 (A Selective Effect of Combined Treatment of Electroacupuncture at Zusanli(ST36), Manual Acupuncture, and Pyengwi-san in Function Dyspepsia Patients with Pyloric Valve Disturbance and Hypoactivity of Gastric Vagus Nerve)

  • 목 적 : 위 미주신경 활성 저하와 유문부 기능 장애를 동시에 가지고 있는 기능성 소화불량증 환자에서 전침 및 한약의 복합처치 치료가 이 두가지 면에서 각각 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보았다. 방 법 : 장음검사상 위 미주신경 활성 저하와 유문부 기능 장애를 동시에 가지고 있는 환자 10명을 대상으로 치료 전후의 장음 지표 변화를 비교하였다. 장음지표는 % of bowel sound (%BS)와 주 주파수(dominant frequency, DF)를 사용하였으며, %BS(6인 경우를 위 미주신경 활성저하 DF ratio(식후/식 전)<1를 유문부 기능장애로 평가하였다. 환자들에게 2주간 족삼리전 침과 체침이 매일 시술되었으며 평위산 전탕액이 하루 3회 투여되었다. 결 과 : 2주간의 치료 후 DF ratio는 $0.93\pm0.06$에서 $1.06\pm0.04$으로 유의성있게 증가했으며, 10명 중 9명의 환자가 DF ratio>1의 정상치로 회복되었다. %BS 역시 $2.97\pm1.17%$에서 4.27%로 증가했지만 통계적 유의성은 없었으며, 3명의 환자에서 %BS가 6이상으로 정상회복되었다. 결 론 : 위 미주신경 활성 저하와 유문부 기능 장애를 동시에 가지고 있는 기능성 소화불량증 환자에 대한 족삼리 전침과 일반 체침, 평위산의 치료는 미주신경 활성 저하보다는 유문부 기능 장애에 더 유의한 효과를 보였다.

곽향정기산 전탕액의 보관 기간에 따른 항염증 및 항산화 효능 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on Biological Activities of Gwakhyangjeonggi-san Decoction According to the Preservation Periods)

  • Background: Herbal formulas are generally served as a type of decoction. However, there is no scientific evidence for determining preservation and circulation period of herbal medicine decoctions. Thus, we investigated anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects of the Gwakhyangjeonggi-san decoction according to its preservation period. Methods: Gwakhyangjeonggi-san decoction was stored for 0, 1, 2 or 3 months at room temperature. To evaluate anti-inflammatory effects, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) for tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-${\alpha}$) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), and nitric oxide (NO) assay were conducted using the culture supernatant from RAW 264.7 cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The antioxidant activities were studied by measuring free radical scavenging activities on ABTS and DPPH. Results: Gwakhyangjeonggi-san decoction maintained the inhibitory effects on TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-6 and NO productions after up to 2 months of storage in LPS-treated RAW 264.7 cells. No inflammatory response was observed in 3 months of storage. In addition, the scavenging activities on ABTS and DPPH of Gwakhyangjeonggi-san decoction were reduced time-dependently and showed less than 50% inhibition after 3 months of storage. Conclusions: Our results suggest that preservation period of Gwakhyangjeonggi-san decoction is recommended within 2 months after storage.

보관 온도 및 기간에 따른 마황탕 전탕액의 지표 성분 함량, 항염증 및 항산화 활성 비교 (Quantification, Anti-inflammatory and Antioxidant Effects of Mahwang-tang Decoction According to the Storage Temperature and Period)

  • This study was designed to investigate the stability for chemical contents and biological activities of Mahwang-tang (MT) depending on the preservation temperature and periods. MT decoction pouches were preserved for 3 months at room temperature (RT, $23{\pm}1^{\circ}C$) and refrigeration ($4^{\circ}C$). To evaluate the stability of MT decoction, pH and sugar content were estimated. High-performance liquid chromatography analysis were performed to quantify the contents of marker compounds in MT. Anti-inflammatory effects of MT were evaluated to suppress the generation of nitric oxide, prostaglandin $E_2$ and cytokines (tumor necrosis $factor-{\alpha}$ and interleukin-6) in the RAW 264.7 cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide. Total antioxidant capacity of MT was determined by ABTS radical scavenging activity. The pH of storage method and period showed a tendency to decrease gradually with time. There were no changes in sugar content depending on the preservation temperature and periods of MT decoction. Among the major components of MT, cinnamaldehyde was reduced time-dependently for 3 months of storage at RT. The inflammatory effect and antioxidant capacity of MT were reduced time-dependently at both RT and $4^{\circ}C$. Our results suggest that the preservation period of MT decoction is recommended in refrigeration within 3 months or less rather than at RT.

평위산 전탕액의 보관 온도 및 기간에 따른 항염증 효능 비교 (Changes in Anti-inflammatory Effect of Pyungwi-san Decoction According to the Preservation Temperature and Period)

  • Objectives : To provide the information of preservation method for herbal decoction, we evaluated the anti-inflammatory effects according to preservation temperature and period of Pyungwi-san (PWS, Ping wei-san) decoction. Methods : The anti-inflammatory activity of PWS was investigated by carrageenin-induced paw edema in SD rats. At 0 month, PWS extract was administrated 100, 300 and 1000 mg/kg/day orally for seven days prior to induction of edema. Edema was induced by subcutaneous injection of 1% carrageenin into the right hind paw. The paw volume was measured at 4 hr following carrageenin-induced paw edema in rats. At 6 and 12 months, PWS extracts according to preservation temperatures (room temperature, $4^{\circ}C$ and $-20^{\circ}C$) were administrated in rats and then carrageenin-induced paw edema volume was measured. Results : PWS showed inhibitory effect on carrageenin-induced paw edema in rats and the optimal dose was 1000 mg/kg/day at 0 month of storage. At 6 month of storage, PWS storaged at $4^{\circ}C$ and $-20^{\circ}C$ were inhibited paw edema but that storaged at room temperature was not reduced paw edema in rats. Conclusions : These results suggest that PWS decoction pouch has anti-inflammatory activities at both $4^{\circ}C$ and $-20^{\circ}C$ during 6 month storage.
