Improvement of long-time creep life prediction of steam turbine rotor steel (증기 터빈축 강재의 장시간 크리프 수명 예측법 개선)

  • This paper deals with a study on improvement of long-time creep life prediction of steam turbine rotor steels by using initial strain method as a new approach at high temperatures of 500 to 70$0^{\circ}C$ . The main result shows that the inital strain method could be reliably utilized to predict and evaluate the long-time creep life as creep rupture strength and that the predicting equation for long-time creep life under a certain creep stress at a certain high temperature could be empirically derived out from each initial instantaneous strain measured.

  • After steam turbines in power plant drives generator and maintains it at rated speed using high temperature and high pressure steam energy, they regulate the output of generator when synchronized in parallel with the power system. By the way, as the steam flow into turbine can not be reduced fast even though the electrical load is lost, the turbine gets into dangerous situation due to the increase of its speed. At this time, the duty of the turbine governor is "how to limit the speed within its overspeed trip setpoint and escape from danger." In order to implement this purpose, there are various ways different from valve position control. So, in this paper, the various methods for overspeed protection are introduced in comparison with valve position control.

  • There are three main devices such as boiler producing steam, turbine driving generator and generator producing electricity. An electrical generator in power plant is driven and maintained its speed at rated by steam turbine which is coupled into generator directly. Therefore after the steam turbine reaches its rated speed and the generator gets into parallel operation with power grid, the electrical power can be increased by turbine controller or governor. The first governor was invented by James Watts for the steam engine to be maintained at a constant speed. The first governor by him was mechanical type with fly balls. The electrical type governor was created due to the progress of electronic devices such as operational amplifiers or integrated circuits. and Today digital electronic type of governor is being widely used in most prime movers.

  • In this study, the Reliability of degraded steam turbine blade was evaluated using the limited fatigue data. The statistical estimation of limited fatigue data implies that some unknown uncertainties which may be involved in fatigue reliability analysis. Therefore, an appropriate distribution in the fatigue strength was determined by the characteristic distribution - linear correlation coefficient, fatigue physics, error parameter. 3-parameter Weibull distribution is the most appropriate distribution to assume for infinite region. The load applied on the blade is mainly tensile. The maximum Von-Mises stress is 219.4 MPa at the steady state service condition. The failure probability($F_p$) derived from the strength-stress interference model using Monte carlo simulation under variable service condition is 0.25% at the 99.99% confidence level.

  • Rubbing occurs when a rotating element comes in contact with a stationary element. In the steam turbines, the rotating element is the rotor while the stationary elements are usually the oil deflectors and packing seals. Rubbing phenomenon may be often obseued on a new or rebuilt machine rather than on a machine that has been operating for several months or years. Rubbing in the turbine has been classified into two modes by the operating conditions: 1) start up or shut down, 2) steady state. At start up or shut down operation, rubbing produces synchronous whirl vibration, which are caused by thermal bow of the shaft due to localized heating on the shaft surface. While subsynchronous whirl vibration is caused by partial rubbing during the steady state operation. In this paper, the two case studies of troubleshooting for excessive vibration caused by rubbing in the actual steam turbines are investigated.

  • 공정연계를 최소호하는 IGCC 시스템에 대한 개념설계를 수행하였다. 공정분석은 상용코드인 ASPEN PLUS를 이용하였다. 가스화기의 적절한 운전조건을 찾기위하여 가스화기를 경계조건으로 하는 액서지 민감도분석을 통하여 투입되는 슬러리와 산소의 조건을 결정하였다. 또한 , 생성가스 냉각시 현열을 최대한 회수학 ldn하여 , 열교환망을 통하여 급수를 에열하고 가스화플랜트의 각 부분에 공급하도록 공정을 구성하였다. 여분의 가열된 급수는 갑압증발시켜 복합사이클에서 동력을 생성시키는데 사용되어진다. 이와 같은 시스템은 , 가스터빈 -ASU-가스화플랜트의 공기에 의한 공정연계와, HRSG-가스냉각 및 정제시스템 간의 증기연계를 가능한 적게함으로써 공정의 운전성과 경제성을 최적으로 유지할 수 있다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 공정의 경우에, 열효율이 약 39%(고위발열량 기준)으로 나타났으며, 단위 기기 및 단위공정들의 최적화를 통하여 40%의 효율달성이 가능할 것이다.

  • A simulator had been developed and will be used for reliability verification on turbine control programs for boiler feed pump in power plant prior to its actual operation in field. A mathematical model on thermal dynamics pertaining to prime mover steam turbine and pump was realized and included in this simulator. Also, many design and operating data acquired from fields were utilized in order to decide mechanical and thermal dynamic characteristics such as friction loss windage loss and inertia. A user can decide closing or opening velocity of steam stop valves and steam regulation valves. This simulator is able to generate steam pressure, turbine speed, pump power.

영광 3,4호기 시뮬레이터 실시간 NSSS모델 개발 및 검증

  • 운전원 훈련용 시뮬레이터의 국산화 개발계획에 따라 영광 원자력 3,4호기 발전소 운전원 훈련용 시뮬레이터가 국내 최초로 개발되었다. STK(space and time kinetics)와 RETACT (Real Time Advanced Core and Thermohydraulics)코드를 이용하여 영광 3,4호기 시뮬레이터의 실시간 NSSS 모델을 생성하였다. 생성된 모델의 검증(Verification Validation)을 위해 정상상태(Steady State)에서의 주요인자들이 ANS3.5의 오차범위이내임을 확인하였다. 과도상태(Transient)의 검증을 위해 터빈정지 과도상태와 주증기 관파열(Main Steam Line Rupture)사고를 실제 발전소 시험 데이터 및 성능해석 코드(NPA)를 이용하여 분석한 결과와 비교하였다. 비교 결과 기준발전소의 반응과 큰 차이 없이 운전원 훈련용 시뮬레이터의 규격인 ANS 3.5를 잘 만족함을 확인 할 수 있었다.

  • 고리 1호기 원전 수명 연장을 위한 가압열충격(Pressurized Thermal Shock : PTS) 해석은 확률론적 안전성 평가 방법에 따라 수행된다. 본 연구는 가압열충격 상세 해석 연구의 일환으로 가압열충격 해석을 위한 계통해석시 사용되는 최적 평가(Best Estimate) 방법과 기존의 PCT(Peak Cladding Temperature) 관점의 해석에 사용되는 결정론적 안전성 평가 방법간의 해석 방법론 차이에 의한 열수력 거동의 상이점을 평가하기 위함이다. 이를 위해 1998년 설치 예정인 고리 1호기 교체 증기발생기(Replacement Steam Generator ; RSG) 안전성 분석 보고서$^{[1]}$ 의 주증기관 파단사고 해석 결과와 동일한 파단 크기 및 운전 출력에 대해 최적 평가 방법론에 따라 해석된 본 연구의 해석 결과를 비교, 평가하였다. 해석 결과 전출력 소형 주증기관 파단 사고에서는 터빈 유량 모델링 및 반응도 계수, 고온 영출력 대형 파단 사고에서는 가압기 모델, 반응도 계수 및 정지여유도가 해석 방법론에 따른 열수력 거동의 차이에 영향이 큰 것으로 평가되었다

  • In the present work, characteristics of the flow in the cage of a steam turbine bypass control valve for thermal power plant are investigated. Experimental measurement for wall static pressure has been carried out to validate numerical solutions. And, the flowfield is analyzed by solving steady three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations. Shear stress transport (SST) model is used as turbulence closure. The effects of the flow area between stages of the cage on the pressure drop are also found.
