  • The purpose of this study was 1)to examine the effect of various stress on adjustment in terms of depression and well-being, 2) to examine whether the widow's self complexity and coping behavior mediate the effect of various stress on adjustment . The subject was composed of 117 women in the first 7 years of their widowhood. The major results of findings were as following: 1. Widows experienced children-related stress(54.7%), financial stress(47%), emotional loneliness(42.7%), relational stress(34.2%), and instrumental stress(27.4%) in their order. 2. Widows who experienced emotion loneliness had high depression and low well-being. And Widows who experienced financial stress reported low well-being. 3. When widows experienced instrumental stress, Widows who had high active coping behavior reported high well-being than widows who had low active coping behavior.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of parenting on job satisfaction and psychological well-being in employed women, with moderating effects of marital stress. The present study was based on a sample of 258 full-time employed women aged 30-49 in dual-earner families. The effects of parenting experiences on job satisfaction and psychological well-being were examined separately for women with low and high marital stress. Both parenting rewards and costs were significantly associated with psychological well-being in women with high marital stress. For women with low marital stress, parenting rewards and costs did not predict psychological well-being. Among women with high marital stress, parenting rewards were positively associated with psychological well-being and parenting costs were negatively associated with psychological well-being. In contrast, only parenting costs were a good predictor of job satisfaction for women with high marital stress. In conclusion, the effects of parenting experiences on job satisfaction and psychological well-being were mediated by the level of marital stress in employed women.

  • This ethnography was done to understand the daily lives and life values of the experience of middle-aged women with Hwabyung. It also focused on how they reorganized their lives to escape their crisis and how they continued living going forward. The participants were 5 middle-aged women with Hwabyung and 2 family members in K city. Data were collected from iterative fieldwork through in-depth interviews and participant observations. Data were analyzed using text analysis and taxonomic method. The reorganization of the everyday lives of participants with Hwabyung started from the perception of family values and the crisis of those values failing. The participants' everyday lives were reconstructed by changing their perspectives on life, and renewing their family relationships. In addition, middle-aged women with Hwabyung managed to cope with their own roles, fill in for the role of husband, and reinforce their capacities. Their children' attitudes and behaviors were also reshaped due to the rearrangement of family roles. These results may help nurses understand and provide culture specific care for the middle-age women with Hwabyung.

  • The aim of this study is investigate the research trends by analyzing the researches related to Korean and international genetics in oncology nursing. We conducted a text network analysis focusing on the key words presented in the abstracts of papers published in journals related to genetics in oncology nursing. Nurse, Cancer, Genetic, Patient, Knowledge, Care, and Genetic Test were identified as keywords and centralized keywords. As a result of studying research trends over time, researches including keywords such as information, care, and knowledge have increased since the completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003. Key words classified through the meta paradigm of nursing were health, nursing, human, environment order. This study is meaningful in that it can be used to identify trends in tumor genetic nursing research and to set the direction of development of nursing intervention for hereditary cancer patients.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the level of disease related knowledge, compliance of health behavior, and educational needs in relation to time (at discharge and 6 months after discharge) among patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods: Data were collected from January 1, 2006 to September 30, 2006 and a total of 60 patients participated in the study. The survey was conducted in patients underwent PCI at the time of discharge right after discharge education was provided and at a follow up visit which was 6 months after discharge. Results: The level of disease related knowledge (p<.001), the compliance of health behavior (p<.001), educational need (p=.496), the sub-item of sexual life (p<.001), follow up (p<.001), diet (p=.021), stress (p<.001) in compliance of health behavior, and the sub-item of specific character of disease in educational needs (p=.015) were significantly different between discharge and 6 months after discharge. Conclusion: The results of this study suggested that further education should be provided to the patients underwent PCI regarding medication, smoking cessation, daily life and exercise at a time of 6 months after discharge in order to increase patient compliance of health behavior.

A survey was held to the elderly patient of 5 geriatric hospitals in Kyunggi-do and Busan from May 8 to May 28, 2013. As result of factor analysis, the health status divided to the 7 domain: Emotional function, Strength, Daily activity, social role, Change of body, Social function and pain. Pain and Emotional function revealed the negative effect on sleep quality and Change of body and Daily activity were positive effect on quality of life. In conclusion, it is need to improve sleep quality through finding pain and emotional problem in elderly patient, and in order to upgrade nursing in geriatric hospitals, it have to develop nursing strategies considering the geriatric hospital for health screening and health promotion to take care of daily activity and change of older's body.

  • The primary purpose of this study is to identify spatial distribution patterns of co-authoring activities in Korean cadastral science. The analysis showed that a small number of researchers played an essential role in the Korean cadastral co-authorship network. In particular, some authors not only had a significant influence on other nodes in the network but also served as intermediaries between researchers. Moreover, the distance between researchers influenced co-authorship decisions to a limited extent. This study differs considerably from previous studies in that it used spatial analysis techniques to identify spatial distribution patterns of co-authoring activities. However, this research is limited in that it applied only 2019 data to determine the spatial distribution pattern of co-authoring activities. We can overcome this limitation if we analyze the spatial distribution patterns of co-authoring activities using multi-year data in future studies.
