  • Take-off weight is a key factor for improving accuracy when estimating an aircraft's carbon emissions and fuel consumption. However, the takeoff weight contains sensitive payload information that can infer the airline's management strategy, making it impossible to leak it outside. Although several models for estimating takeoff weight have been presented in previous studies, the researcher points out that there are limitations of the study caused by variables at the pilot's discretion. In this paper, several variables related to takeoff weight are identified to suggest a way to control these limits. Among them, variables that can improve the accuracy of takeoff weight are selected and an estimation equation is presented by applying them to ADS-B information. The proposed estimation does not estimate the average takeoff weight but has the advantage of being able to estimate all ranges of the takeoff weight.

  • The construction competition is more deepened with the enterprise possibility increase which it follows in the regulation relaxation back against the construction market penetration which carries and the instability of market is added an extra weight and it solves the aspect where also the profitability which is caused by with low price bidding decreases. Against a productivity with the overcome plan it is researched plentifully and the far for a productivity improvement, there is so far to construction, the productivity being used with only include meaning, is to a practical affairs and the application ver)r as the level which is feeble is a possibility of doing. It is like that and the research develops the producing district possibility of new steel-frame work and in the actuality which sees the production volume of steel-frame work and a construction accomplishment process effectively and to be right numerical figures it does it plans it controls and manages the place ultimate objective which it puts.

  • Structural optimization is widely adopted in the design of structures with the development of computer aided design and computer technique recently. By applying the structural optimization in the last decades, designers have gained the design scheme of structures more feasibly and easily. In this paper, an optimal design of one 30-story high rise steel structure is performed considering material non-linearity. Based on finite element analysis and adaptive simulated annealing algorithm, the optimal weight of structure is derived under constraints of allowable yield stress, shear stress and serviceability.

  • Maintenance of the roads and bridges is a major issue for all road administrators around the world, and various initiatives are being implemented in each region for the purpose of controlling the ever increasing road maintenance cost while ensuring the safety of the vehicles driving. Efforts for such initiatives have also been made in Asia and initiatives for managing heavy-weight vehicles have recently gained momentum in Korea and Japan. We have developed a technology for unevenly installing bar-shaped sensors (piezo quartz sensors) to enable dynamic axle load measurement at a highly accurate level, and have estimated our measurement accuracy of axle load/gross weight, etc. on an actual road. The measurement accuracy of the axle load/gross weight varies significantly depending on the number of sensors installed. In our implementation, the target accuracy was set to below ${\pm}5%$ for gross weight measurement so that automatic regulation can be applied. We have achieved our target by installing 8-point measurement system. However, to have this technology widely accepted, it was necessary to reduce the system size so that it can be easily implemented. Therefore, we have estimated the relationship between the measurement accuracy and the system size (number of measurement points), and have come up with the proposal of 3-point measurement as an optimum number of measurement points, and have estimated its performance on an actual road. Additionally, we evaluated the relationship between the measurement accuracy and vehicle velocity.

  • There has been no systematic accumulation in the aircraft weight data even though those are crucial in the full life-cycle weight and balance program of aircraft. Companies, government agencies, and the Korea Air Force have been controling the data separately. The lack of communication between these institutes prevented the mutual use of the data. This study deals with a SE model-based weight and balance program development process for the full life-cycle weight and balance control of aircraft which enabled the efficient and mutual use of the weight data from the various institutes.
