MPEG AFX: 애니메이션 압축 기술

  • 본 고에서는 MPEG 3DGC(3D Graphics Compression)서브그룹에서 진행중인ISO/IEC 14496-16 AFX(Animation Framework extension)중 Animation과 관련된 동향에 대해 기술한다. 가상 공간에서의 bone-based, 모델과 같은 캐릭터 애니메이션의 표현과 압축, 소스 모델과 타겟 모델로 부터 일련의 연속적인 중간 모델들을 만들어서 부드러운 애니메이션이 가능하도록 하는 모핑 애니메이션, 키 프레임 애니메이션의 압축에 대해 살펴보고, 현재 진행중인 Frame-based Animation Compression 대해 살펴본다. 마지막으로, 이러한 압축 툴을 사용하여 압축한 3D 비트 스트림을 다중화(Multiplexing)하여 저장하는 m3d 데이터 포맷에 대해 살펴본다.

  • 연구 개발의 주된 내용은 SDL(Specification Description Language)을 위한 정형기법 지원도구 중 명세상에서 행위 부분에 대한 동적 특성을 검정하는 검정기 개발이다. 모델 검정기는 해당 프로토콜에 대해 생성된 중간 모델 I/O FSM(Input/Output Finite State Machine)에 Modal-calculus에 의해 검정대상인 deadlock, livelock, reachability 및 liveness에 대한 표현과 I/O FSM에 대해 해당 알고리즘 적용 및 분석 기능을 C++언어로 구현하였다. 또한 SDL Editer 기능과 관련된 도구들과 통합하여 사용자들이 쉽고 편하게 쓸 수 있도록 환경 및 통합 모듈을 구현한다.

  • 본 연구는 주식투자 영역에서의 한글 인터페이스 시스템의 구현에 관한 것으로 영역에 대한 지식을 기반으로 하위 계층 지식을 설계하고, 의미 분석을 중심으로 효율적인 중간 표현을 생성하여 지능적인 응답문의 생성을 목표로 시스템을 구현하였다. 또한 제한된 문맥적 상황에 대한 인식 능력을 보유하여 생략어구와 대용어구의 처리가 가능하도록 하였다.

View Morphing for Generation of In-between Scenes from Un-calibrated Images (비보정 (un-calibrated) 영상으로부터 중간영상 생성을 위한 뷰 몰핑)

  • Image morphing to generate 2D transitions between images may be difficult even to express simple 3D transformations. In addition, previous view morphing method requires control points for postwarping, and is much affected by self- occlusion. This paper presents a new morphing algorithm that can generate automatically in-between scenes from un-calibrated images. Our algorithm rectifies input images based on the fundamental matrix, which is followed by linear interpolation with bilinear disparity map. In final, we generate in-between views by inverse mapping of homography between the rectified images. The proposed method nay be applied to photographs and drawings, because neither knowledge of 3D shape nor camera calibration, which is complex process generally, is required. The generated in-between views can be used in various application areas such as simulation system of virtual environment and image communication.

Automatic Segmentation of the meniscus based on Active Shape Model in MR Images through Interpolated Shape Information (MR 영상에서 중간형상정보 생성을 통한 활성형상모델 기반 반월상 연골 자동 분할)

  • In this paper, we propose an automatic segmentation of the meniscus based on active shape model using interpolated shape information in MR images. First, the statistical shape model of meniscus is constructed to reflect the shape variation in the training set. Second, the generation technique of interpolated shape information by using the weight according to shape similarity is proposed to robustly segment the meniscus with large variation. Finally, the automatic meniscus segmentation is performed through the active shape model fitting. For the evaluation of our method, we performed the visual inspection, accuracy measure and processing time. For accuracy evaluation, the average distance difference between automatic segmentation and semi-automatic segmentation are calculated and visualized by color-coded mapping. Experimental results show that the average distance difference was $0.54{\pm}0.16mm$ in medial meniscus and $0.73{\pm}0.39mm$ in lateral meniscus. The total processing time was 4.87 seconds on average.

The Design of a Functional Language which has an Annotation Syntax and Implmentation of the Front-end of the Translator for the Language (Annotation을 가지는 함수언어의 설계 및 번역기 전반부 구현)

  • There are two major method for expressing parallelim in functional languages. The one is the strictness analysis and the other the annotation. The strictness analysis is a method that a compiler detects parallelism and expresses the detected information in the object program. The annotation is a method that a programmer detects parallelism and expresses in the source program. This study is on the annotation and is aimed at construction of a translator for a functional language which has an annotation syntax. The translator translates a source program to enriched lambda-calculus graphs. The translator is implemented in C using compiler development tools such as YACC and Lex, under UNIX environments. In this paper we present the design and implementation techniques for developing the front-end of the translator.

Generation of a Semantic Structure on a Conventional Goods Search System (대화형 상품 검색 시스템에서 의미 구조 생성에 관한 연구)

  • 인터넷 쇼핑몰 분야에서 한국어 인터페이스에 대한 필요성이 대두되면서 이와 관련한 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 이러한 기존 연구들의 문제점은 다른 응용 분야에 대한 확장성이 떨어지고, 대화식 질의 문장을 처리하기 위해 필요한 상황 지식을 사용할 수 없다는 것이다. 확장성을 위해 한국어 인터페이스는 내부 구현의 변경 없이 도메인 지식의 교체만으로 다른 분야에 대한 적용이 쉬워야 한다. 아울러, 한국어 질의 문장을 SQL이나 ACL과 같은 여러 응용 분야의 인공 언어에 쉽게 변환할 수 있으려면 모호성이 전혀 없는 의미 구조로 표현되어야 한다. 이렇게 표현된 의미 구조는 상황 지식의 표현과 적용을 용이하게 한다. 본 논문은을 Sowa의 개념 구조를 이용하여 의사 의미 구조를 유형 정의, 관계형 정의, 액터와 같은 도메인 지식베이스를 이용하여 표준 의미 구조로 변환하는 시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문은 먼저 필요한 도메인 지식베이스의 종류와 역할 등을 설명하고, 상황 지식을 이용하여 불완전한 의미 구조를 완전한 의미 구조로 변환하는 방법을 보인다. 아울러, 같은 의미를 갖는 여러 형태의 의사 의미 구조가 하나의 표준 의미 구조로 변환됨으로서 시스템의 일관성을 유지하는데 용이함을 보일 것이다. 본 시스템에서 생성한 의미구조는 중간 언어의 역할을 하므로, 제안하는 한국어 인터페이스 시스템은 데이터베이스 분야뿐만 아니라 에이전트 분야, 시맨틱 웹 분야 등에서도 손쉽게 적용할 수 있다는 장점을 가진다.

A Study on Self-Expression Improvement of Children through Orff Activities (유아의 자기표현능력 증진을 위한 오르프 음악활동의 적용)

  • The objective of this study was to improve the self-expression of children through Orff activities. In this study, three (3) children from D day care center in Seoul who demonstrated withdrawn behaviors were chosen as research subjects, based on a self-expression test score of 50 points. The activities were conducted for 6 weeks, totaling fourteen (14) sessions, with each session being scheduled for forty (40) minutes. Across 14 sessions, the researcher conducted, analyzed and compared the self-expression scale of subjects, measured during the third and the last session. The researcher then qualitatively analyzed verbal and non-verbal self-expression behaviors of subjects by video recording the session. The analysis results shown by the study are as follows. First, the results of a quantitative analysis of the self-expression scale showed significant changes in self expression. Furthermore, the results of a qualitative analysis of verbal self-expression showed positive changes in self-perception and an increase in feelings of independence and activity than that of initial sessions.

Method of Transforming PDM Overlapping Relationships to BDM Overlapping Relationships in CPM Schedule (CPM 공정계획의 PDM 중복관계를 BDM 중복관계로 전환시키는 방법)

  • The reason why most scheduling softwares currently using at construction projects adopt PDM (Precedence Diagramming Method) is that it can express an overlapping relationship between activities. However, the overlapping relationships in PDM are represented only by combinations of four overlapping types that connect the start and finish points of two activities, therefore, PDM cannot express efficiently the relationships between any middle points of two activities if they should be represented. This research proposes the method of transforming the four overlapping types of PDM to the overlapping relationships of BDM(Beeline Diagramming Method), new networking technique, that can connect the inter-relationships at any middle points of two activities as well as express multiple overlapping relationships. The proposed method will help not only to improve an efficiency of scheduling but also to upgrade the scheduling technique because BDM technique has a lot of unique advantages in scheduling.

Samulnori Musicians' Experiences of Object Relations With Their Instruments (사물놀이 연주자의 악기 대상관계 경험)

  • The purpose of this research was to explore the phenomenon of object relations with musical instruments as experienced by professional Samulnori musicians. The researcher conducted in-depth individual interviews with five Samulnori players who also completed questionnaires with open-ended questions. The data were analyzed using Giorgi(2004)'s phenomenological methodology. The results offered 121 semantic units, seven subcategories, and three main categories. The three main categories were transitional object, object of expression and recognition of internal desires, and object for recognition of others and communication. These results suggest that the ensemble format of Samulnori promotes the development of the musician's object relationship and can externalize the player's internalized representational system and interaction method. This study is significant in that it reveals the endopsychic functional relationship between a musician and their instrument and provides the basis for the use of Samulnori instruments in music therapy.
