An advantage of electric vehicles is that they are environmentally sustainable because they do not emit exhaust gases, such as $CO_2$ or Nox. A disadvantage is the low power performance of the motor and battery source, necessitating a reduction in the weight of the vehicle to increase efficiency. Another disadvantage is that the rechargeable battery enables an electric vehicle to only run for a limited number of miles before requiring electric charging. To solve these problems, the hybrid vehicle has been developed by combining environmental sustainability with the high performance of a conventional internal combustion engine. In this study, an electric UTV (Utility Terrain Vehicle) was transformed into a hybrid vehicle system by outfitting the vehicle with a drive auxiliary power system including a 125 cc internal combustion engine. This modification enabled us to extend the range of the hybrid UTV from 50km to 100km per one electric charging.
The new transit fare in the Seoul Metropolitan is basically determined based on the distance-based fare system (DBFS). The total fare in DBFS consists of three parts- (1) basic fare, (2) transfer fare, and (3) extra fare. The fixed amount of basic fare for each mode is charged when a passenger gets on a mode, and it proceeds until traveling within basic travel distance. The transfer fare may be added when a passenger switches from the present mode to another. The extra fare is imposed if the total travel distance exceeds the basic travel distance, and after that, the longer distance the more extra fare based on the extra-fare-charging rule. This study proposes an algorithm for finding minimum fare route in DBFS. This study first exploits the link-label-based searching method to enable shortest path algorithms to implement without network expansion at junction nodes in inter-modal transit networks. Moreover, the link-expansion technique is adopted in order for each mode's travel to be treated like duplicated links, which have the same start and end nodes, but different link features. In this study, therefore, some notations associated with modes can be saved, thus the existing link-based shortest path algorithm is applicable without any loss of generality. For fare calculation as next steps, a mathematical formula is proposed to embrace fare-charging process using search process of two adjacent links illustrated from the origin. A shortest path algorithm for finding a minimum fare route is derived by converting the formula as a recursive form. The implementation process of the algorithm is evaluated through a simple network test.

In this paper, we propose the method and system which determines the condition for safe and unsafe lane changing. To determine the condition, first, the system sets up the Region of Interest(ROI) on the neighboring lane. Second, a dangerous vehicle is extracted during the line changing. Third, the condition is determined to wm or not by calculating the moving direction, relative distance md relative velocity. To set up the ROI, the only one side lane is detected and the interested region is expanded. Using the coordinate transformation method, the accuracy of the ROI raised. To correctly extract the vehicle on the neighboring lane, the Adaptive Background Update method and Image Segmentation method which uses the feature of the travelling road are used. The object which is extracted by the dangerous vehicle is calculated the relative distance, the relative velocity and the moving average. And then in order to ring, the direction of the vehicle and the condition for safe and unsafe is determined. As minimizes the interested region and uses the feature of the travelling road, the computational quantity is reduced and the accuracy is raised and a stable result on a travelling road images which demands a high speed calculation is showed.

Autonomous driving vehicles recognize the surroundings through various sensors mounted on the vehicle and control the vehicle based on the collected information. The level of autonomous driving technology is improving due to the development of sensor technology and algorithms that process collected data, but the implementation of perfect autonomous driving technology has not been achieved. To overcome these limitations, through autonomous cooperative driving centered on infrastructure. In this study, developed a position correction sign that provides a reference for positioning of autonomous vehicles. First of all, an analysis was performed on the current status of positioning technology for autonomous driving. And measure the number of point clouds for the 1st sample consisting of two square reflective surfaces and 2nd sample that increased the vertical length of each reflective surface. Experimental results show that both primary and secondary products are installed at least 15 m apart It could be recognized as a sensor, and it was confirmed that the secondary production that increased the length of the top and bottom had a higher number of point clouds than the primary production and better expressed the shape of the facility.

This study aims to develop the Vehicle Local Dynamic Map (V-LDM) and demonstrate its performance for providing dynamic map data efficiently to the vehicle control module. Firstly, the concept of the in-vehicle LDM has been established and then the system has been carefully designed according to the international standards. The high-precision digital map embedded in LDM has been designed to incorporate the lane-level information of road network, and the Dynamic Map protocol (DM protocol) which is a message protocol including the road data with dynamic traffic event data has been defined. The performance test of the proposed system has been conducted in the uninterrupted road section of Kyungbu expressway, showing that both of the data size and the elapsed time to finish the process are almost linearly proportional to the length of target road. Finally, it is recommended that the length of target road for DM protocol be less than 250m.

In order to increase the autonomous navigation capability of a mobile robot, it is very crucial to develop a method for recognizing a priori known environmental characteristics. This paper proposes an ultrasonic sensor based real-time method for recognizing a priori known indoor environmental characteristics like a wall and corner. The ultrasonic sensor consists of an ultrasonic transmitter and two ultrasonic receivers placed symmetrically about the transmitter. Unlike previous methods the information obtained from the sensor is processed in real-time by extended Kalman filter to be able to correct the position and orientation of robot with respect to known environmental characteristics.

This paper presents a technique for localization of a mobile robot using a single ultrasonic sensor. The mobile robot is designed for operating in a well-structured environment that can be represented by planes, edges, corners and cylinders in the view of structural features. In the case of ultrasonic sensors, these features have the range information in the form of the arc of a circle that is generally named as RCD (Region of Constant Depth). Localization is the continual provision of a knowledge of position which is deduced from it's a priori position estimation. The environment of a robot is modeled into a two dimensional grid map. we defines a physically-based sonar sensor model and employs an extended Kalman filter to estimate position of the robot. The performance and simplicity of the approach is demonstrated with the results produced by sets of experiments using a mobile robot.
Directed graphic algorithm was applied to an empirical analysis of traffic occupant fatalities based on a model by Crandall. In this paper, Crandall's data on U.S. traffic fatalities for the period 1947-1981 are focused and extended to include 1982-1993. Based on the 1947-1981 annual data, the directed graph algorithms reveal that occupant traffic deaths are directly caused by income, vehicle miles, and safety devices. Vehicle mileage is caused by income and rural driving. The estimation is conducted using three stage least squares regression. Those results show a difference between the traditional regression methodology and causal graphical analysis. It is also found that forecasts from the directed graph based model outperform forecasts from the regression-based models, in terms of mean squared forecasts error. Furthermore, it is demonstrates that there exists some latent variables between all explanatory variables and occupant deaths.
