This research was conducted to analyze the actual condition of data related to Korea shown in the catalog of 15 countries. This study was to compare the subject characteristics of Korea-related subject heading, record collection, and the characteristics of several subject heading, which has been a major issue. The results are as follows. To begin with, Korea-related record in most other national libraries runs absolutely short except for some countries like United States. Korea-related record is generally 2 to 3 times less than Japan related record. Second, referring to the subject distribution in sub criteria of Korea-related record, subject related to 'history' and 'economy' is shown in the highest rate. Considering that 'Korean war' shows the highest rate in Italy and Canada, we can consider that this may cause the distortion of the perception of Korea. Third, in the case of Korea-related record, the record of South Korea is 1.5 to 5 times more than that of North Korea, except for some countries like United States. Forth, regarding the subject headings, the terms such as 'Taekwondo', 'Kimchi', 'Tok-do', 'Tong-hae' have different meanings in different countries. However, these terms agree to LCSH in most countries except for neighboring countries. Fifth, in case of China and Japan, the subject headings in reference to political and historical position are raising some problems.

This study aims to explore research trends in Blockchain studies in South Korea using dynamic topic modeling and network analysis. To achieve this goal, we conducted the university & institute collaboration network analysis, the keyword co-occurrence network analysis, and times series topic analysis using dynamic topic modeling. Through the university & institute collaboration network analysis, we found major universities such as Soongsil University, Soonchunhyang University, Korea University, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and major institutes such as Ministry of National Defense, Korea Railroad Research Institute, Samil PricewaterhouseCoopers, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute that led collaborative research. Next, through the analysis of the keyword co-occurrence network, we found major research keywords including virtual assets (Cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Virtual currency), blockchain technology (Distributed ledger, Distributed ledger technology), finance (Smart contract), and information security (Security, privacy, Personal information). Smart contracts showed the highest scores in all network centrality measures showing its importance in the field. Finally, through the time series topic analysis, we identified five major topics including blockchain technology, blockchain ecosystem, blockchain application 1 (trade, online voting, real estate), blockchain application 2 (food, tourism, distribution, media), and blockchain application 3 (economy, finance). Changes of topics were also investigated by exploring proportions of representative keywords for each topic. The study is the first of its kind to attempt to conduct university & institute collaboration networks analysis and dynamic topic modeling-based times series topic analysis for exploring research trends in Blockchain studies in South Korea. Our results can be used by government agencies, universities, and research institutes to develop effective strategies of promoting university & institutes collaboration and interdisciplinary research in the field.

This study reviews advances in research made during the last decade in studies of aging families in Korea. Specifically, we provide a critical review of the theoretical directions and empirical findings of 87 research articles focused on aging families published in the Journal of the Korean Gerontological Society between 2008 and 2017. Topics and issues covered include: (a) diversity in family structures and households, (b) intergenerational relations, (c) intimate relations, and (d) family problems in later life. We found that while research applying theories and employing advanced methodologies has increased, embracing more diverse theories and ensuring nationally representative panel data from multi-reporters within families will enhance future research in aging and families. The authors conclude that more multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches are needed in the field of family studies and gerontology in Korea.

The purpose of this study is investigate the research trend on digital humanities. Previous studies focused on analyzing representative cases and national policies, not overall research trends in the digital humanities field. To this problem, this study intends to identify the intellectual structure of the digital humanities by adopting bibliometric approach. In this study, 1,765 articles retrieved from Web of Science and 514 records from RISS were analyzed to investigate research trends. Structural topic models were applied to examine research topics and to grasp the time-series trend. The results show that humanities-based convergence studies and digitization were main research interests in both side. In Korea, research topics related to cultural contents and storytelling were prominent, while in terms of providing digitized data, library and information science field was one of the important research topic abroad.

The purpose of this research was to derive a expansive curriculum management measure by analyzing the curriculum on the field of library and information service. To fulfill this goal, five major South Korean universities and four major US graduate schools were selected for comparison of the curriculum on information service. In addition, the research analyzed the required examination subjects for the employment of librarians of public library. The comparison was conducted to comprehend the curricular contents of an academic information service; the latter was to identify the curricular contents of information service required by the libraries. the analysis showed that the field of academic information service included the knowledge on the information source of each area(collection development, subject bibliography, etc.) and the knowledge on user analysis(information service, user-study, reading guidance, etc.) Moreover, the employment requirement of the manager-level national examination demanded a comprehensive knowledge on information service theories, subject sources and users. The findings confirmed the need to strengthen the special subject service education in the information service curriculum.

Information behavior is an important area of research in library and information science (LIS) that has evolved over the last 75 years. The aim of this study is to investigate the recent trends of information behavior research by providing insights into emerging topical areas within information behavior. To conduct this study, the bibliographic data from Scopus was used, and the trends of information behavior were traced by using variations of key terms used in information behavior research, such as "information behavior", "information seeking behavior", and "information needs." In addition, the trends were analyzed in terms of content words in the title, highly cited journal articles, disciplinary categories, and author keywords. Information behavior research has its roots in LIS, but the findings of the study reveal that information behavior has expanded to other disciplines by intersecting a variety of topical areas. In particular, this study showed that information behavior in the health/medicine domain has become a predominant emerging topical area of research. In order to enhance our understanding of complex human behavior, future research should focus more on interdisciplinary aspects by measuring the scope of information behavior.

This study was conducted to describe the image of nurses in the context of COVID-19 pandemic by reviewing newspaper articles (n=451) from 11 major domestic daily newspapers. Analysis of monthly prevalence, favorability towards nurses, proportion of nurse coverage, and thematic analysis was conducted. Five themes and 9 sub-themes were derived from thematic analysis, and major themes are as follows: "Poor work environment"; "Nursing, 'The job of calling'"; "Prominent as a medical profession"; "Strict standards"; and "Expanding the realm of nursing" in order of frequency. In conclusion, media is still reporting a limited role of nurses. Therefore, in order to widen public perspective towards nurses, further academic activities that highlight various roles and positive aspects of nursing profession are needed.

The purpose of this study is to identify the main subjects of the reading programs which are provided by the public libraries during september, "the reading month," in 7 metropolitan cities, Seoul, Pusan, Daegu, Incheon, Daejeon, Gwangju, and Ulsan. To achieve this purpose, the data are collected from 622 programs of the sixty-two libraries. The content analysis method was used to analyze data and find results from it. The results are summarized as follows: 1. Reading and culture are identified as the main subjects of the programs. 2. The preferred subjects among the public libraries in 7 metropolitan cities are identified as different.

전범위 복제형 시뮬레이터에 의해 이루어진 원자력 및 화력발전소에서의 운전원교육은 훈련원에게 실제 발전소 주제어실에서 운전한다는 인식을 시켜 실제감을 느끼게 한다는 면에서 장점이 있으나, 막대한 하드웨어 개발비용과 또한 동일 장소에 훈련원들이 모여야 한다는 공간적인 제약성을 가지고 있다. 이에 전력연구원은 3차원 웹기술을 접목하여 가상으로 주제어실을 개발하여 네트워크를 통하여 하나의 사이버 공간에서 공동으로 하나의 작업을 수행케 하는 Collaboration 기능을 탑재한 강의실용 가상주제어실 교육훈련 시스템(VRMCR : Virtual Reality Main Control Room)을 개발하였다. VRMCR은 3차원 웹(Web) 기술을 적용하여 공간을 이동하면서 버튼, 계기판, 경보판 등의 형상을 파악할 수 있으며, 주요 계기들은 시뮬레이터와 연동되어 있어서 특정 스위치를 조작하면 경보판의 울림, 계기판의 변화 등을 감지할 수 있도록 개발하였다. 또한 교육생들이 하나의 팀을 구성하여 네트워크상의 자신의 컴퓨터에서 각종계기의 조작 및 문제 상황 대처 방법을 학습할 수 있을 뿐 아니라, Cyber Glove, HMD 둥의 가상현실 장비를 이용하여 사용자로 하여금 한층 더 몰입감을 느낄 수 있도록 하였다.
