This study analysed student teachers' notable questions about the earth science contents in the elementary science textbooks. The contents of notable questions were defined as ‘notable question contents 1' and 'notable question contents 2'. Both the question contorts are contents about which the number of questions is above three times and from two times to three times as much as the mean number of questions per page of each unit respectively. The results are as follows. First, question contents 1 are found as 'clouds observation', 'geological strata formation' and so on. Question contents 2, 'rainfall measurement', 'moon's movement during one night' and so on are found. Second, the number of interrelationships of main terms in questions increased in each question of question contents 1, but 4 term-patterns are found more in question contents 2 than question contents 1. Third, high interrelationship patterns of terms in question contents 1 are 'coal and petroleum-generation', 'metamorphosis-heat and pressure', 'metamorphosis-heat and pressure-metamorphic rocks', 'planet-sun-comet-revolution' and in question contents 2. 'constellation plate-use', 'dryness and wetness hygrometer-principle', 'seismograph-principle-earthquake', 'earth rotation axis-tilting-occurrence', 'dryness and wetness hygrometer-principle-humidity' and so on. The sources of questions analysed in this study are estimated as the content construction system of textbooks, or students' general questions about the earth science contents. If this is the former, the problems in texts and illustrations in textbooks should be articulated and resolved. And if the latter, the elementary science curriculum has to be reconsidered in view of scientific literacy in earth science.

As computers are recognized as essential tools for our life and society, the use of computers has become increasingly important in education. The propose of this study is to grasp the level of students' understanding on basic terms used in computer textbooks for $4th{\sim}6th$ graders in Chungbuk and to investigate the existence of differences in students' understanding according to personal variables. The result of this study indicates that the level of students' understanding on basic terms in computer textbooks is very low. Also significant differences are found in students' understanding of terms according to location, grade, the possession of computers, computer-related learning experiences, instructional methods used in computer classes, interest in computer classes, participation level in computer classes and grade level.

Automatic term extraction is to recognize domain-specific terms given a collection of domain-specific text. Previous term extraction methods operate effectively in unsupervised manners which include extracting candidate terms, and assigning importance scores to candidate terms. Regarding the calculation of term importance scores, the study focuses on utilizing sets of inner and outer terms of a candidate term. For a candidate term, its inner terms are shorter terms which belong to the candidate term as components, and its outer terms are longer terms which include the candidate term as their component. This work presents various functions that compute, for a candidate term, term strength from either set of its inner or outer terms. In addition, a scoring method of a term importance is devised based on C-value score and the term strength values obtained from the sets of inner and outer terms. Experimental evaluations using GENIA and ACL RD-TEC 2.0 datasets compare and analyze the effectiveness of the proposed term extraction methods for English. The proposed method performed better than the baseline method by up to 1% and 3% respectively for GENIA and ACL datasets.

The study was made to examine basic data for the eventual establishment of scientific terms in forestry and also propose tentatively correct terms in the soil erosion control measures in various fields of rehabilitation works. The 30 foundamental measures and 279 measures concerned with soil erosion control works are collected and arranged in sequence of gully, hillside, and sanddune erosion control measures and in order of Chinese, Korean and English respectively.

세계는 지식정보의 창출 및 활용정도가 국가경쟁력을 좌우하는 지식기반사회로 급격히 전환하고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 주요 지식정보의 집중적인 디지털화를 통해서 국가 지식정보 공유체계를 구축하는 것이 무엇보다 시급한 상황이다. 특히 급격하게 성장하고 있는 디지털 콘텐츠 분야의 체계적인 정보화 사업은 관련 분야의 선진국과 경쟁하기 위해서 절실하게 요구된다. 본 논문은 게임산업에 대한 체계적인 정보화를 추진하기 위해서 의미를 기반으로 한 게임전문용어전자사전 구축을 위한 연구 결과를 소개한다. 의미를 기반으로 한 게임전문용어전자사전 구축하기 위해서 다양한 형태의 게임 관련 자료를 통해서 망뭉치를 추출하였다. 추출한 망뭉치로부터 빈도수 등을 이용해서 중요한 의미를 갖는 표제어를 추출하였으며, 추출한 표제어를 이용해서 게임전문용어 시소러스를 구축하였다. 또한 웹 기반으로 게임전문용어전자사전을 구축하기 위해서 SDML 을 이용하여 전문용어를 표기했으며 다양한 검색 기능을 추가해서 게임전문용어전자사전의 프로토타입 시스템을 구축하였다.

본 연구는 지역명 범주에 속하는 용어들의 개념적 특성을 분석하고, 이를 토대로 다른 범주와의 관련도를 파악하여 지역명 범주 용어들을 중심으로 관계 속성들 사이의 논리적 연관성을 부여할 수 있는 모형 도출에 기반이 되는 기초 연구이다. 지역명 범주 용어 중 국가명에 한정하여 분석한 결과, 국가명 개념 속성 중심으로는 계층 구조 관계의 지역명 범주 용어들끼리 연관이 높으며, 전체 범주 용어들의 개념 속성 중심으로는 지역명 범주 용어가 지리적 위치로서의 의미로 주로 쓰이나, 행위의 주체 또는 객체의 의미나 시대의 개념으로도 많이 활용됨을 알 수 있었다. 국가명이 참조되는 개념 속성과 연관되어 활용되는 관계 속성의 경우의 일부는 참조하는 주요 개념 범주와 연관 관계를 토대로 논리적 의미 관계를 생각해볼 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

This research suggests the method of standardizing terms for raising the effectiveness of information retrieval. Especially for web search, I propose the proper terms which they will use in retrieval by surveying and analysing the related terms about information retrieval interface. The proper terms will solve the equivocation for user increase the effectiveness. And I think the proposed terms will be used to standard data for designers who are construct the user interface systems.
