  • The purpose of present study is to discover the meaning of the Eogul(억울) which is known as a emotion from perceived unfairness. Even though Eogul has been mentioned as a cause of the Hwabyung in Korean culture there were few studies about it. Researchers designed two studies to provide clear understanding for this concept. In study 1, researchers conducted an open-ended questionnaire for 44 participants to deduce the cultural contexts and the whole experience on Eogul. Data were analyzed with grounded theory, the results were cross-checked by different evaluators. According to the analysis, Eogul is not only the negative feelings from the perceived unfairness, but also the motivations and behaviors to resolve the feelings. Especially, what makes Eogul culture-bounded could be related display rules on expressing emotions. We conducted study 2 to clarify the cultural attributes of Eogul in Korean culture. Variables that explain cultural differences were chosen and 123 participants were surveyed with them including the items developed for measuring Eogul. Cultural meanings and implications of Eogul were discussed with the results.

  • In today's society interest in beautiful death is rising. This study investigated the perception of death and well-dying-terminal care attitude-of nursing students and determined the factors that influence their attitude on terminal care and beautiful death. Data was collected from 319 baccalaureate nursing students in S-City, Kyunggido, in Korea using a self-reported questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Person's correlation coefficients, and multiple stepwise regression, using WIN SPSS 18.0 program. There were significant differences in terminal care attitude of subjects in accordance with the experience of hospice education (F=2.53, p=.012), experience with the death of close acquaintances (F=3.37, p=.001), and perceived health status (F=5.37 p=.005). There was a positive correlation between perception of death and well-dying (r=.23, p<.001), and the relationship between well-dying and terminal care attitudes was also statistically significant (r=.22, p<.001). Factors that influence the attitude on terminal care were well-dying (${\beta}=.19$) and experience with the death of close acquaintances (${\beta}=.16$). It is necessary to develop an education program for nursing students to promote positive attitudes toward the perception of death and well-dying, as well as toward terminal care.

  • In a good class, the elements that make up the class are organically related as a system. Unilateral assessment without sufficient explanation or agreement on assessment criteria, subjective assessment that does not guarantee the reliability of the assessment process and decolonized evaluation separate from the learning process can be a threat to a good class or healthy learning ecosystem. This study analyzed the evaluation through rubric and its effects to solve problems related to educational evaluation. 'Rubrick' is a descriptive evaluation tool that details the criteria for evaluating performance tasks based on class goals and the quality of performance in several stages. The rubric applied for movie literacy evaluation is 'analytical rubric'. It covers literacy to understand movies, movie making literacy and movie utilization literacy. For rubric, learners recognized it as a valid and very useful learning reflection tool.

Oral health status and interview data were collected from 23,089 children aged 12 years who participated in the 2015 Korean Children's Oral Health Survey. Subjects were classified into high-risk and low-risk groups according to the Significant caries (SiC) index, and the influence of each variable was analyzed. As a result of the study, the SiC index of the high-risk group was 5.08, which was about 9.6 times higher than the low-risk group. The risk factors associated with the high-risk group were in the order of the number of sealant teeth, dental treatment demand for the past year, perceived oral health status, gender, region, frequency of snack intake per day, and use of oral hygiene aids. In order to improve the oral health of children, appropriate preventive treatment and oral health education should be carried out with reference to the items indicated as risk factors in the high-risk group of dental caries.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine any possible differences among adolescents in unmet dental care needs according to their demographic and socioeconomic characteristics and oral health status and influential factors on the basis of the fifth national health and nutrition examination survey data. The findings of the study were as follows: Unmet dental care needs were accounted for 19.84 percent. As for the reason, many replied that they couldn't afford to leave school during school hours, and economic factors. As a result of analyzing what affected their unmet dental care needs, this experience was more common in the older age groups than in the 6~12 years age group, and the experience was less common in the respondents with a larger income. As for the subjective oral health status, the experience was 0.61-fold and 0.72-fold less in the respondents who perceived their health as fair or good than who thought their health was poor respectively. And there was a tendency that getting regular dental checkups led to 0.22-fold less experience. Given the above-mentioned findings, the kind of policy that makes dental care services more accessible to youth in consideration of socioeconomic circumstances should be carried out. As many of the adolescents couldn't leave school during school hours, schools should be equipped with dental clinics to improve accessibility to dental care services.
