A Study on the Emotional Implication of Memorable Adolescent Experience into Housing Environment (청소년기 주거환경경험의 정서적 의미에 관한 연구)

  • This study was performed to phenomenologically look into residential behaviors from the standpoint of human housing environment experiences, rather than physical environment, aiming to examine the emotional implication of housing environment by finding human mental motives included in memorable adolescent experiences into housing environment. In this study, an analysis on an environment life story was used to describe both the behaviors and spaces of significantly memorable experiences into housing environment. In addition, this study was carried out by analysing the emotional implication of descriptions selected from respondents' answers. A questionnaire survey was performed by questioning the students of D university about their significantly memorable adolescent experience in housing environment from the 4th to 15th of June 2007. Statistic date was analysed using the SPSS 14.0 Program.

  • Hoe beak village (Donggu manseokdong, Akasaki Village) is the oldest slums in Incheon. Recently, 'Mixed residential environment improvement project' is being promoted as Aboriginal entire resettlement goals in place of 'new building reconstruction and redevelopment projects' knock down everything this hoe beak village existed already. Resident representatives meeting configuration goes, but still do business magazine in the right direction. Therefore, in this study, the proposed architectural solutions to meet the demand of residents on the research problems, performed in a manner that the local improved hoe Buri village residential environment improvement projects and analyze the current situation and characteristics. In this study, the following improvements are presented. Prepare guidelines and maintain design guidelines for maintaining the identity of the village, Improve continuous landscape of the village, Construction of mixed-use sanitation facilities, Using a mini-lot and Vacant for Ssamzie Park Development, Units of housing types for Shared housing and co-operation are proposed.

Housing Needs of Korean Family with Demented Elderly (한국치매노인 가족의 주거환경 개선요구)

  • Most elderly victims of senile dementia in Korea are cared for at home. This creates hardship for their families. Recent research suggests that the physical environment can affect the treatment of dementia. In light of these findings, a prudent approach to the design of the housing environment of family with dementia sufferers is advisable. This study aims to determine the design factors that need to be considered for the housing environment of dementia, particularly for those suffering from Alzheimer's or Cerebrovascular dementia. For this study, and in-depth qualitative investigation method was employed. Principal caregivers were interviewed using various investigative tools, including objective measures, structured and non-structured questionnaires. The investigation results suggest that the need for housing environment improvement varies with the severity and type of dementia. The housing needs in this study, is expected to promote a focus on improved design management for the environment and housing of dementia and their families. The results also suggest the establishment of a welfare policy for senile dementia victims and their families.

  • This study aims to analyze the on-site improvement area of residential environment improvement project based on research results derived from the on-site and questionnaire survey in case of Daegu. The main findings are as follows. First, residents complain about delay of project completion because a long time has been passed after on-site improvement area was designated. Experts and government officials agree that a new method of development is required. Second, future development should discriminate on-site improvement area according to its level of project completion. The area should be classified into project completion areas and on-going area, and new methods, such as redevelopment, apartment-housing construction method, should be allowed. Third, for better management of on-site improvement area, laws and regulations must be ready and government's will for improvement is crucial.

  • The housing environment improvement of the middle size cities is getting emphasized due to the decentralization. But, the way to improve the housing environment should be in progress without any consideration for citizen's lives or their own culture. Especially, in rural village, government has continually made political supports but extremely skeptical about the result, that is, they made improvement on living environment but failure in the living quality. This institute intends to find out cultural elements of traditional architecture are. Tradition has to make effects on the present age. It has to have great influence on the entire housing environment in addition to each architecture.

An Analysis on the Determinants of Mountainous and Coastal Area's Housing Value Caused by the Characteristics of the Natural Environment (자연환경 특성에 따른 산지형 및 해안형 아파트의 주거가치 상승 결정요인 비교 분석)

  • This study aims to analyze determinants of mountainous and coastal area's housing value caused by the characteristics of the natural environment. As the current issue of housing value is throwing the spotlight on the climate change recently, environmental features are significantly important than before. There were a lot of studies on the influence of environmental characteristics to the housing price but these studies were mostly dealing with the housing price in especially apartments nearby Han-river in Seoul, South Korea. To have differences with existing studies, environmental characteristics estimating housing value are classified as 8 elements including the view, the wind speed, and the humidity. The result of this study is in following; there were few significant environmental variables in mountainous housing value growth model. This means people living in mountainous area recognize on environmental factors more such as housing or complex characteristics. People living in coastal area are much more sensitive environment variables in their residence value than mountainous area. Especially, the view for the ocean is the most important variable in housing value, and wind speed is second positively significant. Humidity and safety of disaster are negatively significant variables.

  • In this paper a new kind of unit-prefabricated building is shown. The unit-prefabricated buildings are made up living unit, energy unit, water unit. The design trend implemented the energy insulation, solar PV panels, energy storage system which are maintained for zero energy buildings. We made a prototype for zero energy flexible residential unit. The first step, we was evaluated the physical performance, insulation, airtightness. The second step, we was evaluated energy performance building to design heating and cooling system to combined PV system. As a results, the insulation performance wall was $0.18W/(m^2{\cdot}K)$. The results of air-tightness was 12.13 ACH@50 (1/h). The building energy demand ratings and solar energy generation has the possible to be ballanced.

  • 대부분의 주거환경은 가전제품이나 전등 등을 수동적으로 제어하는 방식이 일반적이다. 본 연구에서는 주거환경을 스마트화함으로써 사용자의 불편함과 번거로움을 줄이고 효율적인 환경관리와 보안을 강화를 할 수 있도록 한다. 본 논문은 아두이노, 여러 센서와 블루투스모듈을 사용하여 집 내부 환경을 자동제어관리하고 사용자가 스마트폰 어플로 집 내부 환경을 파악하고 가전제품을 제어함으로써 편리함을 추구함과 동시에 에너지 절약에 도움이 될 수 있게 한다. 또한 와이파이로 연결된 카메라로 영상을 스트리밍하여 집 내부를 확인하고 대응할 수 있게 하여, 현대인의 집을 스마트하게 관리할 수 있는 "아두이노를 이용한 스마트홈"을 제안한다. 기존의 주거환경과 다르게 집 내부의 환경을 자동제어 및 환경정보를 확인하고 사용자가 직접 가전제품을 제어할 수 있으며, CCTV를 통해 집 내부를 확인 할 수 있도록 한다. 또한 화재가 감지되면 경보와 스프링클러가 작동하여 초기진압을 할 수 있다.

Effects of Socioeconomic Factors and Forest Environments on Demand for Rural Residential Development (농촌 주거지 개발 수요에 대한 사회경제적 요인 및 산림환경의 영향 분석)

  • This study investigates the effects of economic factors and forest environments on rural residential area development in seven north central states of the U.S. by focusing on the relative importance of not only economic factors but also forest environments by forest type as core drivers of residential development. An empirical model of locations and magnitudes of population changes since 1950 in the north central region is first constructed, and then a panel model with fixed effects for counties is used to explain population growth by age group over time at the county level. Then a set of three equations is estimated for three major age groups, and a cross-sectional model is estimated for the last time period that regresses county-level environmental amenity variables on fixed effects coefficients for counties. Finally, an equation explaining changes in rural housing density is estimated. The results imply that immigrant age is a key factor influencing the choice of the place of residence and that the effects of environmental amenity factors on population growth and subsequent housing development in a county vary according to the age group.
