Evaluation of Vibration and Structural Performance of an Innovative Sliding Step Steel Stair Using Full-Scale Mock-up Test (실물대 목업실험에 의한 슬라이딩스텝 철골계단의 진동 및 구조성능 평가)

  • In this study, an innovative steel stair system is presented which enables rapid erection and high quality control in both residential and office building construction. This system features two lightweight steel stringers of box shape, bolted connections easy to absorb construction tolerance, and stair steps movable transversely (or sliding steps) such that the work space needed for concrete stairway wall could be easily provided. In this type of stairway system, other than providing robust connecting details, ensuring vibration performance is especially important since this system may be vibration-sensitive due to lightweight nature and/or probable low damping. To tackle these issues, a series of full-scale mock-up tests were conducted by using box-shape stringer members with or without concrete-fill. The connection system was shown to be sufficiently stiff and strong, or it remained elastic even under the 160% of service load level. Among the seven stringer alternatives, five exhibited satisfactory vibration performance according to the related North American and European acceptance criteria.

  • This study is lately stand on the basis of the importance for global warming and environment and accept changes of the paradigm of the 21st century. also it is to start architecturial access that suggest to solutions about environment, energy and health problems in high-rise residential architecture that lately the importance for global warming and environment. Spacially since 1990, high-rise residential architecture has developed into increase rapidly, and nowdays, this has become one of the new residence type. but this have diverse problems. For this reason, this building faced neccessary to improve living space and obtain to eco-friendiness and sustainability. Therefore, this study is focused to environment-friendly architectural certification in Korea and other countries, aims to suggest planning and technical elements from this system. Through 11 cases of high-rise residential architecture certified sustainable certification system, this study drew out tendency and charateristics of main strategy elements. These analysis will express informations of current level and also suggest to direction for improvement in quality of high-rise residence.

  • In Korea, Housing Performance Rating Indication System was first adopted in 2006. Main purpose of the System is on developing criteria which can systematically measure the level of housing performance. Among the five categories of Housing Performance Rating Indication System, Repair Convenience is closely related to Remodeling which has been widely recognized as an alternative to the building reconstruction. Especially, as the actual housing supply level in Korea is reaching almost 100%, it is crucial to expand Long-life Housing through the effective maintenance and management. In addition, consumers should have an access to the performance ratings of apartment buildings on which they can rely on in choosing their own housings. And for construction companies, a performance code enacted by government will provide them with a standard that they can utilize in determining performance level of buildings that they build. This study examines data which has been obtained from the recent application of Housing Performance Rating Indication System and Repair Convenience category is main concern. Findings from the study will provide vital information in improving current Housing Performance Rating Indication System.

  • Housing Performance Rating Indication System was started in 2006. The aim of Housing Performance Rating Indication is to provide the guideline of housing performance. Repair Convenience is similar to Remodeling. Remodeling has been paid more attention as an alternative for reconstruction.   • More and more domestic skyscrapers have been rapidly constructed to get enough living space for people living in overcrowded cities. The purpose of skyscrapers is to provide citizens with useful facilities and to establish landmarks and also national and regional symbols. Previous studies have been conducted which focused on the structure, materials, plans, maintenance, and relevant information regarding skyscrapers. Skyscrapers, however, are different from other smaller buildings regarding the residential environment as well as in other ways. Recently, several problems have been raised in that the indiscreetness of current skyscrapers cannot guarantee residents a high quality living environment, and they might contain risks unless criteria are put forward to ensure that the design and facilities provide for this aim. It is judged that a set of performance criteria for the residential environment to ensurethe residents' quality of life could solve this problem. This study therefore aims to suggest a method for the improvement of the residential environment of skyscrapers by establishing residential environment evaluation factors. In conclusion, this study calculates the weight of each evaluation factor using AHP (an analytic hierarchy process) and suggests evaluating criteria. It is expected that this study could be used to propose guidelines for residents at the design and planning stage of building a skyscraper.

  • Heat pump unit performance is represented by the COP(Coefficient of Performance) and expressed by the one point design condition according to KS C 9306. However, when heat pump operated to the real buildings, the simulations are changed continuously according to the actual weather conditions, the building load and heat pump source conditions. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the APF(Annual performance factor) for a climate dependent building integrated air-to-air heat pump system in major cities in Korea. TRNSYS simulation tool with an international MV standard based IPMVP 4.4.2 was utilized to perform the annual performance analysis. The APF with the multi-performance data based method was calculated as 2.29 for Daejeon residential building case while Busan residential building case appeared as the highest with 2.36.

Effect of noise and reverberation on subjective measure of speech transmission performance for elderly person with hearing loss in residential space (주거 공간에서 고령자 청력손실을 고려한 소음 및 잔향에 따른 음성 전송 성능의 주관적 평가)

  • This study investigated the effect of noise and reverberation on subjective measure of speech transmission performance for elderly person with hearing loss in residential space through listening test. Floor impact, road traffic, airborne, and drainage noise were employed as the residential noise, and several impulse responses were obtained through room acoustical computer simulation for an apartment building. Sound sources for the listening test consisted of residential noises and speech sounds for boh the young (the original sound) and the aged (the sound filtered out by filters with frequency responses of hearing loss of 65 years elderly person). In the listening test, subjects evaluated speech intelligibility and listening difficulty for the presented word ($L_{Aeq}$ 55 dB) at three noise levels ($L_{Aeq}$ 30, 40, 50 dB) and three reverberation times (0.5, 1.0, 1.5 s). Results showed that the residential space with noise level lower than equal to 50 dB ($L_{i,Fmax,AW}$) for jumping noise and 40 dB ($L_{Aeq}$) for road traffic, airborne, and drainage noise had speech intelligibility of 90 % and over and listening difficulty of 30 % and below. Speech intelligibility and listening difficulty for the aged sound source was shown to be 0 % ~ 5 % lower and 2 % ~ 20 % higher than those for the young sound source, respectively.
