  • Housing Performance Grade Indication System is one of the advanced system which operate globally in three countries. Housing Performance Grade Indication System of the Japan and Korea has points of similarity and distinction according to special situations of own condition and government. The purpose of a study is how characteristics have points of view about background, composition and an outline of the system, indication standard and method, the situation of issue, making progress direction and what is the clear differences. Also, it is to obtain hints for making progress direction of domestic Housing Performance Grade Indication System. The method of study is in parallel with literature survey, also collection through visiting to researcher, operation company, evaluation institution, housing company of the Japan. and to use data as a result of international workshop on November 2008. Because domestic research team is studying about making system and evaluation, revision, this study will make use this data.

  • Recently, determinants in the construction market are not suppliers' choices but customers' various needs. One of the main interests about the space design is the flexibility. Though those are the choices of users to modify space structure, the potential degree of flexibility is predetermined by the providers. In suppliers' view, it is consuming in financial and technical aspects to cater the apartments qualifying maximum flexibility. To modify these differences, the reasonable range of applicable customers's requirement about flexibility in apartment should be determined. Then, the types of flexibility in apartments should be classified. The purpose of this Study are classified the flexibility of support in apartment by the analyzing the remodeling requirement of apartment residents, and provided prerequisites to create flexible spaces by case application.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the sound insulation performance and present fundamental data for sound insulation plan about open and close windows of inner facade and outer facade of Double-skin Facade system applied to multi-story type. The Headquarter of Green Building and the Energy Saving Building in the Korea Institute of Energy Research was selected for experiment. Measurement method which are specified in the Korea Standard 2235 were selected for this study. As the result of this study, 1) Sound insulation performance of Multi-layer type of Double-skin Facades is very excellent about outdoor noise. 2) Vertical level is higher, it shows that more decreases sound pressure level.

  • The purpose of this study is propose eco-friendly remodeling while protecting the living environment of existing residents and preserving the living in pleasant by considering the characteristic of high density sloped residential area. And then, the optimum insulation condition is analyzed based on the energy efficiency, economic analysis and environmental effect. It will be possible as the basic information for remodeling of each housing in sloped area. The energy demanding, cost and the carbon emission reduction is analyzed with the residential area in Seo-gu, Busan by eco-remodelling.

  • The problem controlling lateral drift by the wind and the earthquake is very important in high rise buildings. But, outrigger system, generally used for residential tall buildings in Korea, has weak points with the occupancy of special space, the difficult construction and the long duration of works. On the other hand, the damper reduces story drifts of building structure by absorbing vibration energy induced by the dynamic loads and the application of damper systems is relatively simple. Also, the lateral drift control system such as outrigger system may raise the wind vibration problem of serviceability like human comfort and this problem may need another vibration control devices. Accordingly, we analyze the effect of the drift control using various dampers to substitute for outrigger system as the efficient system in residential tall buildings.

A Study on Natural Ventilation Performance for a Double-Skin Facade System in Apartment Buildings (이중외피시스템을 적용한 고층 주거용건물의 자연환기 성능평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the natural ventilation performance for variable external wind speed as a preliminary step to determining the seasonal operating modes of the Double-skin Facade System applied to apartment buildings. For this purpose, two simulation programs are used to compare the Double-Skin Facade System with the Double Sash Window. First, TAS is used to plan a schedule for natural ventilation during the intermediate season and to analyze the cooling loads. Second, CFD is used for a more detailed airflow analysis on a typical floor plan of the model building. The results of the simulations on natural ventilation performance show that the Double-Skin Facade System can reduce the cooling load by 10.5% compared to the Double Sash Window.
