The Interface Test between LEO Satellite and Ground Station (저궤도위성과 지상국 간 접속 검증 시험)

  • LEO Satellite performs the operations and missions by FSW(Flight Software) after separation from a launch vehicle. Many of the operations by FSW are automatically conducted by the algorithms of FSW. In the case of the IAC(Initial Activation and Checkout) operations, a mission scheduling, an orbit transition, etc, however, a decision and a control of the satellite operators or manufacturers are required in order to operate the satellite safely. For this, the wireless communication channel between a satellite and a ground station should be prepared to receive telemetries and to transmit tele-commands for controlling FSW properly. Therefore, the verification of the interface between KOMPSAT-3 and a ground station is essential. This verification test is named the satellite end-to-end test. In this paper, we show the design process of the satellite end-to-end test and test results.

A Suitability Study and Development of Low Strength Perlite Concrete as Aircraft Rapid Arresting System (항공기 과주방지 포장시스템에 적합한 저강도 펄라이트 콘크리트의 개발 및 적합성 연구)

  • More than 10 different cases of airline overrun accidents happened annually home and abroad in recent years. So the government put the guidelines to protect that kinds of accidents, which is named 'Runway End Safety Area'. However, the great part of airports are far from the standards, because most of the airports have been built before the guidelines. Moreover, in many cases natural obstacles, ambiance, and local area developments obstruct the extension of the runway to meet the criteria. For these reasons, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recommends that the aviation fields construct 'Aircraft Rapid Arresting System(ARAS)' at the end of the runway. Many airdromes have been constructing the system and some airports have already completed the construction. In this research, our team performed a basic study about low strength perlite concrete to provide the proper material with 'ARAS'. As a result, the unit weight of the low strength perlite concrete was $4.5{\sim}6.4kN/m^3$ and uniaxial compressive strength was measured in the range of $400{\sim}1,470kN/m^2$. In addition, we tested penetration compressive strength by using CBR tester, and we observed that the strength was increased after around 60% of penetration rate. Also, 40% of penetration rate was measured through the penetration test with dump trucks.

  • TTCN-3(Testing & Test Control Notation Version 3)은 국제 표준 테스팅 언어이다. TTCN-3는 다양한 통신 프로토콜이나 장치간의 연동성을 검증하기 위한 적합성 시험을 할 수 있고, 프로토콜이나 통신 장치가 표준에 적합하게 구현되었는지를 검증할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 TTCN-3을 사용하여 종단과 종단간의 연결설정의 확립의 인증성 시험에 대한 프로토콜 장치간의 상호 여동성을 보장하기 위한 적합성 시험을 제안하고, 산호 연동성 시험과 장치에 구현된 프로토콜이 표준 구격에 적합한지를 시험하는 예를 시험한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 154kV 지중송전선로의 기중종단접속함 (EB-A)에서 발생한 절연파괴 고장을 분석하여 정확한 원인을 규명하고자 한다. 케이블 결함은 제조 공정에서 철저히 걸러내도록 조치하고 케이블 공장 출하시 시험을 통해 점검하고 있어, 고장은 케이블 자체 보다 현장에서 시공하는 접속함에서 발생할 우려가 매우 크다. 따라서 접속함 시공은 케이블의 안정적인 운전을 위해 매우 중요한 공정으로 접속작업 후 성능이 케이블과 동등 이상의 특성을 유지하도록 하여야 한다.

  • FTSR(Flight Termination System Receiver) is a device that receives a ground command signal to abort a flight mission when abnormal conditions occur in the space launch vehicle. The secure tone command message shall consist of a series of 11 character tone pattern. Each character consists of the sum of two tones which taken from a set of 7 tones defined by IRIG(Inter-Range Instrumentation Group) in the audio frequency range. The MHA(Modified High alphabet) command adds a security feature to the secure tone command by using the predefined difference code. In order to check the function and performance of MHA FTSR, which is under development, for KSLV-II, the testbed should have functions of RF signal generation, receiver's output port monitoring, RS-422 communication and test data management. In this paper, we first briefly introduce MHA command and FTSR interface, and then show the LavVIEW based testbed include its H/W configuration, S/W implementation and test results.

  • This paper describes the devlopment and implementation for the KOMPSAT-1 scheduling & automatic command plan generator(KSCG). Some problems in mission planning and command planning had occurred using the mission & command planning s/w in MAPS(Missin Analysis and Planning Subsystem) during the LEOP(Launch & Early Orbit Phase) & early normal mission phase due to lots of manual input process and non-automatic process. Therefore, the more mission operations for KOMPSAT-1. In order to prevent the development of new one(KSCG) which should reduce the manual process and generate automatically the command plan has been needed. As a result, the mission operations of KOMPSAT-1 has greatly became stable and more effient.

Development of Ground System to Improve Link Reliability of Flight Termination System for Guided Missiles (유도무기 비행종단시스템의 통신 신뢰도 향상을 위한 지상국 시스템 개발)

  • A flight termination system, which consists of ground and vehicle systems, forcibly terminates flight if it is deemed dangerous. In order to accomplish this, the system should maintain the link reliability above a certain level throughout the whole flight. However, the national proving ground for guided missiles could not fully meet that condition because of the gradually improving performance criteria. In this paper, we have analyzed the link budget for the flight termination system. Furthermore, we have designed and developed an emergency destruction command transmitter system, which is a ground system of the flight termination system, to provide the necessary link margin. Afterwards, we measured the received signal strength at the vehicle system and compared it with that of the existing transmitter system. We hereby confirmed that the link reliability of the flight termination system improved.

  • In this paper, the system level EMC radiated emission test results of KoDSat(Korea Demonstration Satellite), its affects upon the Launch vehicle and H/W improving methods regarding its over exceed value of EMC specification are discussed. Regarding its over exceed value, we estimated that DAU of KoDSat generated the exceeded EMC noise source, and these test results were analyzed using the EMC2000 tool to find out how did it affect the FTS(Flight Termination Subsystem) of KSLV-1(Korea Small Launch Vehicle). To diminish the EMC noise source of UHF(430.1Mhz) band level, we redesigned the DAU power board to be applied the various schemes for EMI noise reduction such as grounding, shielding and EMI filtering, and also verified these reworks to analyze its diminishing affects in UHF band level by means of performing the DAU box level EMC test and performing the second KoDSat's system level EMC test.

  • The first Korean satellite launch vehicle, KSLV-I(Korea Space Launch Vehicle-I), was launched for its first flight test on Aug. 25, 2009 from Naro Space Center located in south Jolla province. Because launch vehicles usually fly long range with large amount of propellants aboard, preparation of countermeasures against potential malfunctions during flight is essential in launch operation. In this paper, the flight safety operation, prepared to guarantee flight safety during launch operation of KSLV-I, is presented. Prior to flight test, flight safety analysis is performed to estimate associated risk levels quantitatively, and during flight, flight safety systems are operated to cope with any risky situations. Real-time flight monitoring including computation of instantaneous impact point using tracking data is executed normally and the flight test is completed without activation of flight termination system.

  • As the next generation internet (NGI) is supporting High-speed in Gbps rate with the appearance of advanced network technologies, various applications that require high data rates. have been experimented and operated. By using high speed application services, many kinds of problems can be generated but we cannot easily grasp their reasons. However, if the user monitors the end-to-end one's flow data information (path and data rate in each router, state of each router) he can find them more accurately Until now, we have found out the fact that systems which can network-widely monitor end-to-end flow have not be developed yet, only simple systems which can monitor user's individual flow data at just one node are developed In this study, we suggest and materialize a system which can analyze bandwidth in real time by searching routing paths and measuring packet transfer rate between end-to-end flow data and supported flow traffic of using IPv6.
