  • In particular, as the current educational institutions are becoming more competitive, universities need to make efforts to survive the fierce competition by improving their service qualities. In this situation, this study was conducted to confirm the effect of international students' evaluation of university service quality on university loyalty through university satisfaction and service engagements, And several implications can be suggested as follows. First, the dimensions of university service quality were identified as important factors that had a great influence on the university satisfaction of international students. Among the service quality dimensions, support services related to international students were found to be the most important variable in university satisfaction. The school's efforts to solve the inconvenience of international students and the grievances of students who feel difficulties that their own students do not feel are considered a very important factor in the satisfaction of international students. Second, it was found that international students' class engagement or friendship engagement can be increased through satisfaction with the school, and eventually, the increased engagements affect university loyalty. In particular, it has been verified that for international students, the loyalty of the school can be increased by establishing friendships with students from various countries and participating in various school programs. Finally, according to the purposes of studying abroad, the difference was confirmed between the groups studying for academic development and better employment and the group employed for overseas experience and immigration.

  • The purposes of this study were to: a) provide evidence concerning the effects of emotional intelligence on job outcomes, b) examine the impacts of emotional intelligence on employee-related variables such as 'job satisfaction', 'organizational commitment', 'organizational performance', and 'turnover intention' c) identify the conceptual framework underlying emotional intelligence. A survey was conducted to collect data from foodservice managers (N=231). Statistical analyses were completed using SPSS Win (16.0) for descriptive analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, t-test, correlation analysis, cluster analysis and AMOS (16.0) for confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The concept of emotional intelligence (EI) has been on the radar screens of many leaders and managers over the last several decades. The emotional intelligence is generally accepted to be a combination of emotional and interpersonal competencies that influence behavior, thinking and interaction with others. The main results of this study were as follows. The four EI (Emotional Intelligence) dimensions correlated significantly with age. The means of job satisfaction score were above the midpoint (3.04 point) scale. The organizational commitment score was above the midpoint (3.41 point) scale and was higher at 'loyalty' factor than 'commitment' factor. The means of organizational performance score were above the midpoint (3.34) scale. The correlations among the four EI (emotional intelligence) factors were significant with job satisfaction; organizational commitment, organizational performance and turnover intention. The test of hypothesis using structural equation modeling found that emotional intelligence produced positive effects on job attitude and job performance. Emotional intelligence enhanced organizational commitment, and in turn, managers' attitude produced positive effects on organizational performance; emotional intelligence also had a direct impact on organizational performance. We collected survey data from 152 shop managers working in the department-store. In the result of final analysis, all 12 hypotheses are supported with statistically significance. The market orientation of firm increases the salespeople-related variables(customer orientation, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment), and the salespeople-related variables increase the customer-related variables(service quality, service value, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty). Finally, customer loyalty increases the performance. This research has the contribution of explanation which shows the mediating role of the salespeople-related variables(customer orientation, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment) and the customer-related variables(service quality, service value, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty) on the market orientation's effect on the performance. According to the result of this research, firms have to focus on the market orientation and understand the role of salespeople-related variables and customer-related variables on the process between the market orientation and the performance.

  • This study examined the causal relationship among the leadership type, organizational commitment, and job performance, and to improve the organizational performance and effective methods of human resource management in hospital organizations. The survey period was from October 6, 2016 to October 20, and 375 employees working in hospitals were selected for the final survey. To analyze the validity of the measurement variables, reliability and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted, and the covariance structure equation analysis was conducted to grasp the causal relationship among leadership, organizational commitment, and job performance. In conclusion, leadership, organizational commitment, and job performance were significantly different according to the occupation(p<0.05), age(p<0.05), and working period(p<0.05), and individual care(p<0.001) and conditional reward(p<0.001) showed a high causal relationship with the organizational commitment and job performance. In the future, leadership that can take care of the individual characteristics of the members of the organization and ability to demonstrate their competence will be needed, and it will be necessary to establish a reasonable compensation system after measuring the degree of achievement of work. In addition, leadership needs to be in place to promote organizational performance considering the job type, gender, age, and duration of work. Managers should make efforts to form an organizational culture and provide related education programs to improve loyalty and attachment of members to the organization.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how a leader's organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) affects subordinates' interpersonal citizenship behavior (ICB) and job stress levels. A leader's OCB involves taking-charge behavior, loyal boosterism, and the industry. We hypothesized that leader-member exchange (LMX) would mediate the relationship between leader's OCB and subordinates' ICB and job stress level. We tested the model using a sample of 293 employees from different organizations from September 2019 until November 2019. We conducted confirmatory factor analyses of the variables and analyzed the data by using structural equation modeling. We also conducted a CFA to assess the fit of a three-factor model for the leader's OCB items. Empirical findings show that LMX fully mediated the effect of leader's OCB on employees' ICB and job stress level. Leader's OCB had a positive effect on LMX. Moreover, LMX had a positive effect on employees' ICB but had a negative effect on job stress. We found support for our hypotheses that leader's OCB is positively related to ICB but negatively related to job stress, and this relationship is mediated by LMX. We discuss limitations, implications for practice, and future research.

  • This is a case study of Korea Airports Corporation(KAC) examining the effects of pre- and post-employment experience factors on individual and organizational priority. This study surveyed 240 employees of KAC and analyzed the results. The influence of pre-employment experience (number of times applying to public sector, reason to choose public sector, and job changing experience) and post-employment experience (years of employment, position, and job types) on personal value (authority, achievement, welfare, vacation, and personal life) and organizational value (responsibility, obligation, performance, compensation, and participation) was studied. The results indicated that organizational value is generally greater than personal value. Preference value (=organizational value/personal value) was greater than one for every group. Education, years of employment, position, reason to choose public sector were confirmed to influence preference value. For pre-employment factors, as an employee chooses to work in the public sector because of better balance of work-personal life, preference value was confirmed to be lower. For post-employment factors, when the years of employment are longer and the position is higher, preference value is significantly higher. The results imply that an organization should establish a fair evaluation and compensation system to help employees display their full capability to produce maximum performance.
