Effects of Organizational Trust on Commitment and Citizenship Behavior (조직신뢰가 몰입 및 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향)

  • Organizational trust (OT) plays a substantial role to attain competitive advantages. It is an effective way to enhance organizational effectiveness. OT makes employees to have a positive emotion toward a firm, also it contributes employees to bring a spontaneous behavior. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among OT, organizational commitment (OC), and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) theoretically and empirically. A total of 228 cases in 15 Chinese companies are used for empirical analysis. The results show that OT has a positive effect on OC and OCB. It is suggested that OT is an important variable to improve emotional and continuance commitment. Also the results reveal that OCB is a meaningful dependent factor that is affected by OC.

The Relationship between Trust and Organization Commitment within Organization of Coast Guard Officers (해양경찰공무원의 조직내 신뢰와 조직몰입과의 관계)

  • Coast guard organization has very different working environment with other general administrative organizations or police organizations. Because they are charging various coastal crimes and safeties by using war vessel at ocean, it was expected that in case of coast guard officers, the impact on organization commitment for each trust factor within organization has the differentiation with other administrative organizations. Core of results by conducting positive research is as following: It is indicated that for coast guard officer, organization trust factor most strongly impacts on organization commitment, and of social trust factors, colleague trust factor more impacts relatively than boss trust factor. Then, when searching the difference of trust factor recognition depending on population sociological properties of coast guard officers, it is indicated that the one having the experience of working at war vessel has more trust to its colleagues than the one having not and executives more trust their boss than non-executives. The reason why the trust to colleague is higher than to boss is recognized that it is caused from deep relationship with colleagues who work and live together when considering working conditions of security vessel.

Distrust in the Usefulness of Organizational Trust (조직신뢰의 유용성에 대한 불신)

  • This paper attempted to explore the plausible reasons why change activities to build up organizational trust might be often short-lived, even though it can become the most valuable social capital for an organization. Based upon a reference data collected from a large company in various methods, retrospective rationalization, difficulties embedded in the processes of realizing the five bases of organizational trust (such as openness, consistence, fairness, consideration, and pride), and top management's negative conviction were identified and discussed as fundamental reasons for the distrust in the usefulness of organizational trust. In addition, middle managers' overcautiousness about their superiors' feeling and organizational cynicism as contributing factors for the distrust in the form of vicious circle were discussed.

Mediating Effect of Organizational Trust on the Relationship between Servant Leadership and Organizational Commitment (서번트 리더십과 조직몰입 간의 조직에 대한 신뢰 매개효과)

  • The study examined the relationship between servant leadership and organizational commitment and tested the mediating role of the organizational trust between the two variables. Measurement of servant leadership used intactly 23 items of a preceding research. Empirical analysis result can be summarized as follows. Firstly. the servant leadership has positive influence on organizational trust. Secondly. servant leadership has significant influence on affective commitment and normative commitment, but could not reach the significance level for continuance commitment. Lastly, this study was proved there was an partial mediating effect of organizational trust, between the servant leadership and affective commitment, normative commitment, but could not reach the significance level for continuance commitment. And if the organizational trust is higher, the extent of the servant leadership's influence on organizational commitment would be higher.

사회적책임이 조직신뢰, 조직몰입, 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향: 강원도기업을 중심으로

  • 2000년대 이후 기업의 경제적 이익을 위한 본연의 성과를 성취하기 위해서는 영리적 이익추구 이외에도 기업 내외부의 관여된 활동 범주 내에서 투자자, 소비자, 시민단체 그리고 노동조합등에 사회적책임(Corporate Social Responsibility:CSR)의 중요성이 점차 커져가고 있다. 이 중 사회적책임과 조직 내 구성원들의 조직유효성의 영향에 대한 다양한 선행논문이 있었으나, 지역으로 세분화하여 분석한 연구가 상대적으로 미비하였다. 이에 따라 강원도를 한정한 사회적책임이 조직신뢰, 조직몰입, 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 강원도 소재 기업들의 사회적책임에 대한 기반적 자료로써 활용될 것으로 여겨진다. 이를 확인하기 위해 본 연구는 강원도 소재 기업에 종사하는 구성원들을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 총 186부의 표본을 활용하였다. 검증결과 사회적책임이 조직신뢰, 조직몰입이 긍정적인 영향을 미치나 조직시민행동에 부분적으로 채택되었으며, 조직신뢰는 조직시민행동에 긍정적 영향을 미치고 조직몰입은 조직시민행동에 부분적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 연구되었다. 본 연구는 선행논문에서 밝힌 사회적책임이 조직신뢰, 조직몰입, 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향에 대해서 지역을 한정해서 연구했으며, 분석결과 강원도 지역 내 사회적경제기업들이 다수 포진되어 있으며, 공동체성이 높기 때문에 사회적책임이 조직 유효성과 조직시민행동에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

  • This paper examines the diverse conceptualizations of trust and explores the multi-level factors affecting trust in organizations. Trust in organizations can be defined as a willingness to be vulnerable to the actions of others and to take risks based on the positive expectations toward the others' intentions and behaviors. The process of building and the content of trust in organizations can vary depending on the social and cultural backgrounds in which. the organizations lie. The reengineering process toward a flatter and flexible organizational structure requires the presence of trusting relationships within organizations. Networks within organizations can function as a basis and channel of trust formation. Finally, the importance of trust in efficient leadership process was discussed.

Perception of Organizational Trust Culture of Regional General Hospital Employees and its Effect on Organizational Trust Activities (지역 종합병원 종사자의 조직신뢰 문화에 대한 인식이 조직신뢰 활동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to provide basic data for hospital organizational management by analyzing perception of organizational culture of general hospital employees and its effect on organizational trust activities. A total of 437 employees from the 5 general hospitals in G city were surveyed with anonymous self-administered questionnaires and the result was analyzed by t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. As a result, there were differences in the perception of organizational trust culture depending on sex, age, education, and income. The perception of organizational trust culture had a significantly positive correlation with organizational trust activities. The factors such as consideration, social responsibility, morality, and competence had a significantly positive effect on organizational trust activities. This study would help to improve the organizational trust that is perceived by hospital employees by improving organizational trust culture with policy and institutional support.

An Empirical Study on the Structural Relationships among Colleague trustworthiness, Organizational trust and Organizational citizenship behaviors (동료신뢰성, 조직신뢰, 조직시민행동 간의 구조적 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically examine the structural relationships among colleague trustworthiness, organizational trust and organizational citizenship behaviors(OCB). To conduct such examination, the author (i) designated colleague trustworthiness, organizational trust and OCB as variables and (ii) designed a research model by conducting preceding studies on the variables. To examine the research model the author collected the survey data from the 2 universities employees, 134 copies of questionnaire. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS programs. The analysis results are as follows. Especially, (1) there was no statistically significant relationship between colleague trustworthiness and OCB. (2) it was found that higher degree of integrity the constructs of colleague trustworthiness would lead to higher degree of organizational trust. (3) organizational trust has been found to exert mediating effect on the relationship between colleague trustworthiness and OCB. The implication and limitation which this study are as follows. First, this study has discovered that organizational trust is the important mediating variable that affect the process of relationship between colleague trustworthiness and OCB. This study have limitation in that was conducted based on cross-sectional design of research. Because, the formation of trust is a dynamic process.

  • The high commitment of a revenue officer makes to raise efficiency, can be directly related to task result and validity. The fundamental process through trust in superior, consisting the core of tax execution, needs to be studied significantly. This study is proposed to verify the practical influence of trust in superior with respect to productivity, participation in decision-making, and concentration. These factors are important prerequisites with respect to task processing of a tax revenue officer. As the result of analysis, the more trust in superior effects on the statue of productivity, participation in decision-making and concentration. It is the proof that the trust in superior procedure contributes in the aspects of productivity, participation in decision-making and concentration through the process of encouraging organizational validity.

  • This study introduced trust dimension as a mediating variable and analyzed in order to investigate the empirical mechanism on the process of leader's emotional intelligence which is a emotional factor to produce organizational effectiveness. Based on the empirical analysis, first of all, this study found whether the team leader's emotional intelligence gives an influence on the subordinate's trust in leader. Secondly, this study examined the multidimensionality of trust by selecting subordinate's cognition-based trust and affect-based trust on the team leader as mediating variables between team leaders's emotional intelligence and subordinate's affective commitment, organizational citizenship behavior. I found the theoretical implications based on this study; first, from the view on cognition-based and emotion-based trust, the integrated verification of the process of the trust in leader as a mediating role, second, verification of the relationship between leader's emotional intelligence and trust in leader which was not studied before, third, the methodological try to prevent from the common method bias problem through the evaluation of a team leader on a subordinate's organizational citizenship behavior. This study also suggested the ways to apply those theoretical implications to human resource management.
