  • This paper considers the Marine Traffic Risk Assessment for fixed and moving targets, which threaten officers during a voyage. The Collision Risk Assessment Formula was calculated based on a dynamic ship domain considering the length, speed and maneuvering capability of a vessel. In particular, the Navigation Risk Assessment Model that is used to quantitatively index the effect of a ship's size, speed, etc. has been reviewed and improved using a hybrid combination of a vessel's dynamic area and the Collision Risk Assessment Formula. Accordingly, a new type of Marine Traffic Risk Assessment Model has been suggested giving consideration to the Speed Length Ratio, which was not sufficiently reflected in the existing Risk Assessment Model. The larger the Speed Length Ratio (dimensionless speed), the higher the CJ value. That is, the CJ value is presented well by the Speed Length Ratio. When the Speed Length Ratio is large, states ranging from [Caution], [Warning], [Dangerous] or [Very Dangerous] are presented from a greater distance than when the Speed Length Ratio is small. The results of this study, can be used for route and port development, including dangerous route avoidance, optimum route planning, breakwater width, bridge span, etc. as well as the development of costal navigation safety charts. This research is also applicable for the selection of optimum ship routing and the prevention of collisions for smart ships such as autonomous vessels.

  • The electrochemical characteristics of two distinct adsorption sites of H at the polycrystalline Pt/0.2 M LiOH aqueous electrolyte interface have been studied using the phase-shift method. At the forward and backward scans, the under-potentially deposited H (WD H) peak occurs on the cyclic voltammogram. The transition region on the phase-shift profile or the Langmuir adsorption isotherm occurs at ca. -0.66 to -0.96 V vs. SCE. At the transition region (ca. -0.66 to -0.96 V vs. SCE), the equilibrium constant (K) for H adsorption transits from 18.5 to $4.0\times10^{-5}$ and vice versa. Similarly, the standard free energy $({\Delta}G_{ads})$ of H adsorption transits from -7.2 to 25.1kJ/mol and vice versa. The under and over-potentially deposited H (UPD H and OPD H) on the poly-Pt surface act as two distinguishable electroadsorbed H species. An exothermic reaction occurs at the UPD H range. Both the UPD H peak and the transition region are attributed to the two distinct adsorption sites of the UPD H and OPD H on the poly-Pt surface.

  • This study predicts and raises the changes that AI will bring to dance art when machine-based choreography began, and finds questions we can ask as human artists. Research suggests that one of the crises of dance in the era of machine creative arts is that artificial intelligence does not stay in the tool of human choreography but becomes the subject of choreography. It is based on the political discourse of choreography that artificial intelligence has the power to control and restrict human dancers. This comes from a sense of crisis that the AI takes over the area of choreography and the human choreographer remains an incompetent coordinator, and as a result, the dancer's dancing body can be reduced to a mechanical body controlled by AI. In order for these concerns not to become a reality, this study proposes three measures. First, choreographer and dancer should develop digital literacy to live in the age of AI art. Secondly, choreographer should acquire the ability to accurately distinguish the roles of human choreographer, dancer, and AI in creative work. Thirdly, various levels of discourse on AI dance should be formed by actively conducting mutual media research of dance and technology. Through these efforts, the human dancer will exist as a subject of art, not a passive agent in the new dance ecosystem brought by the innovation of artificial intelligence technology and will be able to face an era coexistence with artificial intelligence creativily and productively.

  • In this study, a mathematical model of a 9.77 G/T small fishing vessel was established based on captive model tests. The powering and manoeuvring performances of the vessel in the harbor and coastal sea were focused on, so captive model tests were conducted up to the full-scale speed of 8 knots. Propeller open water, resistance, and self-propulsion tests of a 1/3.5-scaled model ship were performed in a towing tank, and the full-scale powering performance was predicted. Hydrodynamic coefficients in the mathematical model were obtained by rudder open water, horizontal planar motion mechanism tests of the same model ship. In particular, in static drift and pure yaw tests which were conducted at a speed of 2 to 8 knots, the linear hydrodynamic coefficients varied with the ship speed. The effect of the ship speed on the linear coefficients was considered in the mathematical model, and manoeuvring motions, such as turning circles and zig-zags, were simulated with various approach speeds and analyzed.

  • This study Proposes a quadrature-typed inside-out receiver coil to obtain magnetic resonance(MR) images of lumen wall. This means that the coil should receive the signals from out-side of receiver coil. This coil has wide and uniform sensitive region to compare with previous coils such as anti-solenoid coil, octal-pole coil and so on. These coils have the disadvantages that sensitive region is narrow and inhomogenous. The proposed coil is consist of two saddle coils of which directions are orthogonal to one another. The sensitivity maps of octal-Pole coil single-saddle coil and quadrature-typed inside-out coil were obtained by computer simulation. And phantom images for each coil were obtained to evaluate the performances of the coil using both 1.5T superconducting and 0.3 Permanent magnet MRI system. The uniformity of quadrature coil's sensitivity map was superior to that of octal-polel coil. Experimentally measured SNR of quadrature coil is also 36% higher than that of single-saddle coil This study shows the possibility of quadrature-typed inside-out receiver coil for the MR lumen wall images.

  • Purpose : B1 field of birdcage RF (radiofrequency) coil that is used most for brain imaging in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) decreases toward endring from the coil center. We investigated how much RE B1 homogeneity effect the endcap shield brings form the coil center as it towards to endcap region. Materials and Methods : We compared RF B1 field distribution by each finite difference time domain (EDTD) simulations for lowpass, highpass and hybrid birdcage RF coils. We selected the highpass birdcage RF coil that was the highest RF B1 field condition as simulation result, and studied how much RF B1 homogeneity effect was occurred when endcap shield was applied to endring area. Results : B1 field of the highpass birdcage RF coil was higher than other birdcage RF coil types as simulation result. However, the RF B1 homogeneity was lower than other coil types. RE B1 field of highpass birdcage RF coil with endcap shield is similar with RF B1 field of hybrid birdcage RF coil and the overall RE B1 homogeneity in sagittal direction was better. Conclusion In this paper, proposed method can apply improving RF B1 homogeneity of RF coil in clinical examination.

  • This paper presents a variable gain amplifier(VGA) without passive devices. This VGA employes the architecture of current feedback amplifier and variable gain can be achieved by using the GM ratios of two trans-conductance(gm) circuits. To obtain linearity and high gain, it uses current division technique and source degeneration in feedback GM circuits. Input trans-conductance(GM) circuit was biased by using a tunable voltage controller to obtain variable gain. The prototype of the VGA is designed in $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS technology and it is operating in sub-threshold region for low power consumption. The the gain of proposed VGA is varied from 23dB to 43dB, and current consumption is $2.82{\mu}A{\sim}3{\mu}A$ at 3.3V. The area of VGA is 1$120{\mu}m{\times}100{\mu}m$.

  • This paper described the general dynamic point for rotor design and the design procedure of low vibration blade. Generally, rotor rotating natural frequencies are determined to minimize hub loads, blade vibration and to suppress ground resonance at rotor design stage. First, through rotor frequency diagram, natural frequencies must be far away from resonance point and rotating loads generated from blade can be transformed to non-rotating load to predict fuselage vibration. Vibration level was predicted at each forward flight condition by calculating cockpit's vertical acceleration transferred from non-rotating hub load assuming a fuselage as a rigid body. This design method is applied to design current Next-generation Rotor System Blade(NRSB) and will be applied to New Rotor which will be developed Further.

  • In this study, aerodynamic characteristics of Kline-Fogleman airfoils are numerically investigatied which has been widely used in remote control aircraft operating at low Reynolds numbers. The comparison of aerodynamic characteristics was conducted between NACA4415 and Kline-Fogleman airfoil based on NACA4415. ANSYS Fluent was employed with the incompressible assumption and $k-{\omega}$ SST turbulence model. It was found that lift coefficient was significantly enhanced in the range of Reynolds number from $3{\times}10^3$ to $3{\times}10^6$. Especially in the region of Reynolds number below $2.4{\times}10^5$, the lift-to-drag-ratio was improved by 26% using the Kline-Folgeman airfoil compared with NACA4415 airfoil.

  • In this study, a radial inflow type turbine was applied and the outer diameter of the turbine rotor was 108 mm. The turbine blade on a circular plate disc was designed as an axial-type because its partial admission rate was 1.4-4.1%. The turbine consisted of three stages. The performance test has been conducted with various admission rates, tip clearances and nozzle flow angles. The turbine output power was measured on each stage. The turbine performance was obtained in a wide rotational speed range in order to compare its performance according to various operating conditions. The net specific output torque was also measured to compare its overall performance. Computational analysis was conducted for predicting turbine performance. The computed results were in good agreement with the experimental results.
