LED lamps are appropriate to the light source for use in broadcasting lighting. When the lighting frequency of LED lamp is different from the shutter frequency of camera, however, the flicker appears on the moving image which is taken by the camera under the dimmed light of LED lamp with conventional dimming methods. In this study, a new dimming method for the LED lamps used as the broadcasting lighting is proposed to minimize the flicker. A lighting period in the proposed dimming method is divided into the several sub-periods which have weight of the bits. Also, the proposed dimming method has characteristics that are optimizing the turn-on timings of two LED lamps to reduce the turn-off periods of the lamps and not to overlap the turn-on periods of the lamps. In the experiments, the incidence of the flicker is taken by the camera under several lighting conditions of the conventional dimming methods and the proposed dimming method. In addition, the brightness values of the frames are obtained in the moving image, and incidence of the flicker is evaluated and compared with conventional methods. From the results, the incidence of the flicker in the proposed method is more improved than the conventional methods.

We have designed high performance flexible prism light-guide plate (LGP) in 5 inch TFT-LCD for mobile applications. We adopted novel material such as methacrylate and butyl acrylate mixture, as it called KURARITY. It has good flexibility by addition of butyl acrylate. And it has also good transmissivity because methacrylate is a major compound. Then, we achieved good test result to embody high brightness and flexible BLU in case of LGP of base and upper surface with 5 inch, thickness 1.5mm adding prism construct, it is superior brightness improvement than previous flexible LGP. It shows significant improvement than previous printing form about some 5% and in this course to flexible embody actual material it succeeded prism LGP production by 5 inch injection form process.

This study has attempted to investigate how subjects perceive changes of brightness and their visual comfort according to daylight responsive LED(Light Emitting Diode) dimming systems in the office with venetian blind. Two studies was conducted. First study is that how subjects perceive changes of brightness and their visual comfort depending on angle control method of the venetian blind while the workplane illuminance level is being maintained through daylight responsive LED dimming system. Second study is that how subjects perceive changes of brightness and their visual comfort depending on the amount of daylight penetrated into the building while the illuminance level is being maintained through daylight responsive LED dimming system. The results of this study could be proposed as basic data in the control of the venetian blind and LED lighting in consideration of their perception on changes of brightness and visual comfort.

Bridges are exposed to constantly changing weather conditions and temperature. The temperature change is induced by a change in atmospheric temperature and solar radiation. Atmospheric temperature change acts on the whole structure. Thus, it is relatively easy to consider in the design. Solar radiation, however, causes un-uniform temperature distribution in the structure, depending on the shape of the structure and its shadows. Un-uniform temperature distribution causes a torsional moment in bridge section and a deformation of bridge. A deformation can make differences of dynamic and static behavior of bridge. In this study, the method for analysis of static and dynamic behavior considering deformation and changes of material properties due to temperature variation was developed. By this method, it is found from dynamic analysis results that the change of frequency in analysis model is similar with test results of public used cable-stayed bridge. When a temperature goes down, a frequency goes up. And it is found that the change of frequency is affected by the change of material properties.

Currently, the energy consumption of electric lighting in an office building is accounted for more than 30% of the total energy consumption. In order to reduce the energy consumed by the indoor lighting, the daylight as a natural energy resource can play an important role in energy savings. The daylight can have positive impacts on improvement of work efficiency and productivity, and also make people feel more psychologically stable. Moreover, by using the daylight, we can definitely reduce the energy consumption in office buildings. Thus, the purpose of this study is to determine the LED dimming ratio depending on the ratio by calculating the amount of artificial illumination required according to the change of daylight by using the light simulation software that can quantify and visualize the performance of daylight. As a result, the energy savings could be obtained up to 30%.

This study examines influences of a daylight dimming control system on the variation of indoor illuminance and lighting energy savings in a small office space. Field measurements and a series of computation were performed for typical types of sky conditions in summer. Results indicate that the daylight illuminance under clear and partly-cloudy sky were close to the target illuminance during a majority of time due to a higher ratio of window to wall. However, the target illuminance was not kept successfully due to the variation of photosensor signals which were strongly influenced by desktop illuminance. The system with partially-shielded conditions succeeded to keep target illuminance under clear sky conditions. The system failed under overcast sky conditions since the electric light output from fixtures caused excessive signals to photosensors due to insufficient daylight on a desktop. Unshielded and fully-shielded conditions were not recommended for effective controls of the systems. The influence of lighting fixtures on photosensors should be minimized to achieve successful lighting controls by daylight dimming systems.
The auto-illumination controller for office, residence, and so on was studied. The system consists of parts of a power supply, a signal oscillator, a lamp controller and two kinds of sensor. The lamp controller has two thyristors triggered by the IR sensor(SCRI) and CdS sensor(SCR2) respectively, When the illuminance around this system is higher than operating value of its sensor, lamp is turned off automatically. Otherwise, the light of lamp gets dim by CdS sensor. In case IR sensor senses the body heat of people around itself, the illuminance of the lamp gets maximum. The illuminance of the lamp can be changed dimmly by control of the variable resistor (RV) connected with SCR2 in series. The turning - on time of the lamp can be also controlled using a variable resistor(Rt) connected with a signal oscillator in parallel. Changing resistance Rt changes the time constant(.tau.), which triggers the gate of SCR2. Though people left the surrounding of lamp, the lamp keeps light for a while.
The dynamic load effects are conveyed to the railway bridges through tracks which are generated by moving trains The dynamic load effects may vary due to the dynamic characteristics of the applied vehicle loads and the railway bridges containing the track system. However, the track effects have been neglected or simplified by spring elements in the most studies since it is quite complex to consider the track systems in the dynamic analysis models of railway bridges. In this study, track system on railway bridges is modeled using a three-dimensional discrete-support model that can simulate the load carrying behavior of tracks. In addition, this program is developed with the precise 20-car model and a continuous PSC(prestressed concrete) box girder bridge, which is the main bridge type of Korea Train express(KTX). Three-dimensional elements are used for both. The dynamic response of railway bridges is found to be affected depending on whether the track model is considered or not. The influencing rate depends on the traveling speed and different wheel-axle distance. The dynamic bridge response is decreased remarkably by the track systems around the resonant frequency. Therefore, the resonance effect can be reduced by modifying the track properties in the railway bridge.

This study conducted a subjective evaluation of brightness perception and visual discomfort according to dimming speeds and CCTs(Correlated Color Temperatures). Dimming speeds of two different CCT lights(2,700K, 6400K) were set to 1.7%/s, 3.3%/s, 5.0%/s, 6.7%/s, and 10.0%/s respectively. Subjects checked the time when they perceived the change of the brightness and visual discomfort. As a result, when dimming speeds were 1.7%/s, 3.3%/s, 5.0%/s, 6.7%/s, more than half of subjects responded the change of the brightness in 55.0~45.0% dimming ratios, and felt the visual discomfort in 35~25% dimming ratios. When the brightness was changed, dimming level responded to the brightness perception of hight CCT(6,400K) was higher about 8.0% then dimming level responded to the brightness perception of low CCT(2,700K). Dimming level responded to the visual discomfort of low CCT(2,700K) was higher about 5.0% then dimming level responded to the visual discomfort of hight CCT(6,400K).
We have investigated the effects of dopant on the thermoelectric properties that $La_{(1-x)}M_xCoO_3$(M=Sr, Ca;x=0, 0.1) bulk ceramics fabricated by the conventional solid state reaction method. The Seebeck coefficient of $La_{(1-x)}M_xCoO_3$(M=Sr, Ca;x=0, 0.1) bulk ceramics was measured at wide temperature range from 300 K to 673 K. The thermoelectric properties(Seebeck coefficient and electrical resistivity) depend strongly on the kinds of dopants. Sr and Ca dopant decrease the Seebeck coefficient. Density of sintered $La_{0.9}Sr_{0.1}CoO_3$ ceramic at 1523 K was 7.12 $g/cm^2$ and Seebeck coefficient was 35 ${\mu}V/K$ at 663 K. However, the electrical resistivity of the Sr doped sample was low and stable.
