In this paper, we present a hybrid neural network model for dynamic hand gesture recognition. The model consists of two modules, feature extraction module and pattern classification module. We first propose a modified CNN(convolutional Neural Network) a pattern recognition model for the feature extraction module. Then we introduce a weighted fuzzy min-max(WFMM) neural network for the pattern classification module. The data representation proposed in this research is a spatiotemporal template which is based on the motion information of the target object. To minimize the influence caused by the spatial and temporal variation of the feature points, we extend the receptive field of the CNN model to a three-dimensional structure. We discuss the learning capability of the WFMM neural networks in which the weight concept is added to represent the frequency factor in training pattern set. The model can overcome the performance degradation which may be caused by the hyperbox contraction process of conventional FMM neural networks. From the experimental results of human action recognition and dynamic hand gesture recognition for remote-control electric home appliances, the validity of the proposed models is discussed.

Recently, standardization organizations including ITU, ATM Forum, etc. have much interested in the interoperability issues between telecommunications products or services. Because interoperability issues are directly related to the improvement of qualities of telecommunications standards or services. Thus, this paper analyzes the trends of interoperability testing polices for quality improvement of telecommunications standards in major standardization organizations, for example ITU-T, ATM Forum, DAVIC, BC-lT 226(Europe), HATS Conference(Japan), including Korea. In addition this paper suggests the desirable national interoperability testing policies and directions for quality improvement of telecommunications standards or services.

Small-to-medium retailers in local neighborhood have been managing to survive without outside influence. However rapid change in business environment including consumer needs for goods and the quality of life has brought turbulence into retail business. Petty retailers are facing a crisis as large-sized discount stores owned by big enterprises are entering into traditional markets. To protect small-to-medium retailers from such threats and revive the traditional commercial markets the government is taking on the policy of subsidizing small-to-medium businesses. However, recent emergence of SSM (an industrialized supermarket in forms of direct management and affiliation) in local commercial areas has brought about conflicts and frictions between large companies and local merchants. Under this background this study attempted to make an analysis of vulnerable factors of small-to-medium retailers coping with SSM and probe for the alternatives to SSM business restructuring.

As information technology of constructional area develops recently, web-based on-line system is rapidly increasing to provide information on diverse constructional materials so as to enhance productivity of constructional business and to reduce cost. Since the constructional materials information provided by these systems, i.e., quality, specification, etc are not standardized, however, the staffs on the constructional site suffer considerable difficulties in using materials information when acquiring information on specific materials, e.g., using diverse information systems or repeating similar jobs. Thus, this research typified information items of constructional materials on the basis of GDAS and designed multi system model to control integrated information on constructional materials. This system can efficiently control and utilize materials information by supporting automatic classification of constructional materials to which OmniClass Part-22 and UNSPSC are applied, conditional complex retrieval of materials information, real-time automatic embodiment of electronic catalog and retrieving/controlling RFID.

The installation of lightning protection system has recently been increasing, but the amount of damage has still been increasing. In this study, survey (interview) and field conditions were conducted to identify the installation and safety standards of the lightning protection system. it was analyzed that the safety management system is non-existent at the stage of the design, manufacturing and construction of the site lightning protection system, and that the safety inspection of the lightning protection facility is not properly managed. It has been shown that lightning protection systems, that can solve these problems, need to be re-established according to the reality so that safety inspection can be carried out in accordance with safety standards such as management of safety certification products, operation of survey institutions, design, manufacturing, and construction of safety standards at a national level.

Document image should be classified into detailed regions as text, picture, table and etc through the geometric layout analysis if paper documents can be converted automatically into electronic documents. However, complexity of the document layout and variety of the size and density of a picture are the reason to make it difficult to analyze the geometric layout of the document images. In this paper, we propose the method which have a better performance of the region segmentation and classifications, and the line extraction in the table region than the commercial softwares and previous methods. The proposed method can segment the document into detailed regions by using connected components method even if its layout is complex. This method also classifies texts and pictures by using separable median filter even. Though their size and density are diverse, In addition, this method extracts the lines from the table adapting one dimensional median filter to the each horizontal and vertical direction, even though lines are deformed or texts attached to them.

IS 15504 and CMMI, etc are already proven models as a framework to improve the maturity of enterprise software development. However, these process maturity models can't present the detail and practical methods with which people can enhance the development competence and efficiency of an enterprise. Each company or organization should develop its own model or tailor the above models to make them suitable to its unique environment such as product or technology domain, scale of business or organization and cultural environment, etc for the practical application. This study introduces experiences that organizational and technical capability was reinforced based on our own process capability improvement model to improve software development strength in Samsung Electronics. We modeled our own improvement model which is expanded from IS 15504 against our experience. Our SPI model expanded its capability to organizational and technical issues including newly introduced capability level for evaluating its implementation. We expect that our study would give contribution for presenting industry experience and reference model for reinforcing software development competence.

This study attempts to reveal that the connection between consumers' self enhancement and consumer-brand relationship can be formed from brand experiences not only through a direct use of products or brands but also through companies' marketing activities including advertising or promotion, in that consumers' sensual, affective, cognitive, and behavioral response to brands are included in brand experiences. After experiencing the Samsung Galaxy S brand with manipulated stimulus, 248 respondents' positive emotion and self-enhancement were increased. Also the positive emotion induced by brand experience increase self-enhancement. This study also shows that brand experience and self-enhancement can significantly affect consumer-brand relationship which in turn affects brand loyalty such as satisfaction, recommendation intention, and repurchase intention. Experiencing strong, favorable, and attractive brand personalities may help consumers to increase positive emotions with self-enhancement and help companies to have brand loyalty through consumer-brand relationship.

물 소비는 수자원 고갈을 야기하며, 수자원 고갈은 보건, 농업 생산력, 작물 생산력, 생태계에 악영향을 미친다. 따라서 물발자국 개념을 적용하고 이를 활용함으로써 일반생활에서 패러다임의 전환을 유도하는 것은 환경 및 물 문제를 저감하는 좋은 수단이 될 수 있다. 우리나라도 물발자국 개념 도입의 적극적인 검토가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 스페인의 사례를 통하여 물발자국 도입 방안을 도출하고자 한다. 스페인은 2008년 9월 유럽연합에서 최초로 물발자국 평가를 정책으로 채택하였다. 스페인은 물 부족 국가로서 물발자국 연구를 수행해왔으며 강 유역 및 국가적 차원의 방법론을 연구하고 검증해왔다. 특히 도시와 산업 분야에서 물의 재사용을 증대시키기 위해 통합농업 및 생태농업을 장려하고 있다. 이와 관련하여 태양에너지, 관광, 전통 작물 재배 지역의 물발자국 계정의 비교우위를 통해 환경, 농업, 에너지, 무역 정책과 관련되는 물 정책의 조정 중에 있다. 또한 지나친 용수개발로 인한 생태적 위험에 대처하기 위해 강을 상류, 중류, 하류로 나누어 작물별 가상수량과 물 효율성을 분석하였다. 이에 따른 결과로 지역마다 적합한 수출입전략으로 물 효율성이 높은 작물을 주로 재배하는 상류지역은 농산물을 다른 지역으로부터 수입하는 동시에 채소류와 같은 물 효율성이 높은 농산물을 특화하여 수출할 필요성을 농가로 제시하고 있다. 이를 통하여 스페인은 지역의 환경 조건에 가장 적합한 제품의 생산을 촉진하고 본질적인 물 사용 패턴의 변화를 통하여 효율적인 물 분배 및 사용이 가능하게 됨으로서 관개용수 사용의 감소를 실현하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 스페인은 유역관리계획의 개발을 위한 기술적 표준으로서 다양한 사회경제 분야의 물발자국 분석을 포함하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이를 통하여 물발자국 정책의 활용방안을 파악하였고, 물발자국의 도입 방향성을 도출하였다. 환경 및 물 문제를 저감할 수 있는 물발자국 개념은 향후 우리나라의 수자원 관리에 있어 중요한 지표의 역할을 할 것으로 기대한다.

This study explores the effect of open innovation activities on innovation performance by dividing into two dimensions of breadth and depth of open innovation activity, and it also verifies the mediating effect of technical protection between open innovation activities and innovation performance. In order to examine the hypothesis, it has surveyed 1,403 companies of manufacturing and service with experience in producing innovative results. The results find that the breadth of open innovation activities has a positive effect on the achievement of radical innovation, and the depth of open innovation activities brings a positive effect on the achievement of incremental innovation. The verification result of the mediating effect of technology protection indicates that partially mediated between the breadth of innovation activities and radical innovation activities, and in the case of the depth, it is completely mediated. The results of this study provide the crucial implications not only for the company promoting open innovation, but especially also for the companies promoting product innovation by acquiring technology.
