The Trends of Recent Development in Papermaking Additives (제지용 첨가제의 최근 개발동향)

  • The review is to introduce newly developed papermaking additives that has been applied to obtain a optimized papermaking production processes through paper quality and productivity improvements in recent years and near future. Not only the introduction of newly developed papermaking additives, but also the discussion on their application principles, methods, controls, inspections, and future development direction has been presented in the paper. The development of papermaking technology has focused on papermaking productivity, paper quality, and production effectiveness improvement through the optimization of the already developed technologies. It is thus concluded that even if noticeable innovative changes has not been in an area of papermaking additives, the development of several important papermaking additives in a technical aspect has been reported and improved the control and management of the papermaking system based on the development.

  • 한솔제지는 지난 5월 25일 7시부터 고객사를 대상으로 연극 늘근도둑이야기를 관람하는 문화행사를 진행했다. 연극관람에 앞서 한솔제지는 자사에서 생산하고 있는 종이에 관련된 퀴즈시간을 가져 정답을 맞추는 고객들에게 선물을 제공했다. 또한 연극관람 후에도 10명을 추첨해 다양한 선물을 증정했다.

  • 한국제지공업연합회(회장 이종대)에서 집계한 자료에 따르면 양면아트지를 필두로 한 고품질 인쇄물에 활용되는 고급 인쇄용지의 생산 및 출하량은 지속적인 증가추세에 있는 반면에 교과서, 일반 책자, 공책 등에 사용되는 백상지나 중질지의 사용량은 주춤하거나 점차 감소하는 경향을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 현상은 인쇄.출판물의 고급화 경향에 의한 것으로 이에 따라 제지업계들의 고품질 인쇄용지 개발 노력도 지속되고 있다.

  • 전량 수입에 의존하던 글라신지의 국내 생산이 이뤄졌다. 한솔제지는 천안공장 PM52호기에서 신제품 글라신지를 시험 생산하고, 현장 테스트를 거쳐 연말에는 시중에 출시할 계획이라고 밝혔다. 이와 관련해 한솔제지는 지난 11월 9일 천안공장에서 글라신지 신제품 설명회를 개최했다.

Effect on the Crack Resistance of Fiber Reinforced Concrete using Incinerated Paper Mill Sludge Ash (제지(製紙) 슬러지 소각재(燒却滓)를 활용(活用)한 섬유보강(纖維補强)콘크리트의 균열(龜裂) 억제(抑制) 효과(效果))

  • This study was intended to use an incinerated paper mill sludge ash as cement alternatives in order to derive a method of utilizing the incinerated paper mill sludge ash of low utilization rate in large quantities. Also, the utilization possibility of incinerated paper mill sludge ash as the cement alternative was examined by mixing a polypropylene fiber and cellulose fiber and by considering its control effect for shrinkage cracks caused by an increase of absorption rate and hydration heat, as a weakness shown at the alternation of incinerated paper mill sludge ash.

Mechanical Properties of Paper Sludge-Polypropylene Composites (제지 슬러지-폴리프로필렌수지 복합재의 기계적 성질)

  • The objective of this research is to develop paper sludge reinforced thermoplastic composites which incorporate the advantages of each component materials. The effects of paper sludge content(0, 10, 20, 30, 40----), mesh size(20~40, 60~80, less than 100mesh), and coupling agent(Epolene E-43 and Epolene G-3003) on the mechanical properties of paper sludge-polypropylene composites were investigated. Composite density increased with an increase in the paper sludge content. When paper sludge is incorporated into a polypropylene matrix, the flexural properties of the composite increase significantly with an increase in the paper sludge mixing ratio. Especially, flexural modulus was improved with increasing paper sludge content. The flexural strength of composites was improved, but flexural modulus reduced somewhat with decreasing paper sludge particle size. The flexural properties of paper sludge-polypropylene composites were improved by using coupling agents to enhance the bonding between reinforcing filler and matrix. Use of the epolene E-43 and G-3003 resulted in considerable improvement in the flexural strength over control specimens. The flexural strength of the G-3003 composite system is higher than that of the E-43 system. Generally, izod notched impact strength of paper sludge-polypropylene composite decreased slightly, whereas izod unnotched impact strength decreased significantly with increasing paper sludge contents. There was no effects of paper sludge particle size on impact strength of paper sludge-polypropylene composites. And izod unnotched impact strength of epolene E-43 composite system sharply decreased but that of G-3003 composite system was no tendency with increasing additive content.

Development of the Bricks using Paper Ash (제지회를 이용한 벽돌재 개발)

  • The production of industrial wastes have increased due to the growth of population and industrial development. Among these wastes, especially amount of paper ash has been increased year after year. If it is possible to reuse industrial wastes, it will be beneficial not only economically but also environmentally. In this study, the possibility of the utilization of paper ash were investigated as a construction materials through a series of laboratory testing carried out to evaluate physical properties, compaction, consolidation, permeability and compressive strength characteristics. Concrete bricks with replacement ratio of paper ash at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20%, and clayey bricks with replacement ratio of paper ash at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30% were used in the test in order to evaluate its quality. As a result of tests, it were shown that the maximum replacement ratio of paper ash satisfying the quality standards of concrete bricks and clayey bricks were 11.5% and 12%, respectively.
