Photocatalytic Characteristics of $TiO_2$ Nanotubes Fabricated in the Ethylene Glycol Electrolyte with Ag and Pd Doped

  • 최근 많은 환경오염물질을 제거하기 위한 방법으로 광촉매를 이용한 기술들이 다양하게 활용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 높은 비표면적을 갖는 광촉매를 제조하기 위해, 전기화학적 방법인 양극 산화법을 통하여 기지 Ti 금속 표면에 nanotube 형태의 광촉매용 $TiO_2$를 제조하고, 염료분해 반응을 통해 광촉매의 효율을 조사하였다. 또한 염료분해 효율을 높이기 위해 Ag와 Pd를 도핑하여 염료분해 반응에 미치는 영향에 대해 조사하였다.

Composite Materials and Their Manufacturing Processes (복합재료와 성형공정)

  • 복합재료는 원자재의 특성에 따라 성형 공정이 각각 다르다. 생산단가 절감을 위하여 최적 공정 및 자동화가 가장 큰 관심의 대상이므로 공정의 모델링과 이에 의거해 컴퓨터를 이용한 수치해 석들이 많이 이루어지고 있으며 이 결과를 제조 공정의 최적화에 이용할 경우 비용이 많이 들고 시간이 오래 걸리는 실험에 의한 방법을 많이 대치할 수 이어 새로운 기지재료가 소개되었을 경우, 제조 공정의 결정에 있어 시간과 비용을 대폭 절감시킬 수 잇다. 앞으로 소재의 기능화, 경량화 추세에 힘입어 복합재료의 수요는 계속 늘어날 전망이어서 환경문제에 대한 관심도 소 홀히 할 수 없으며, 기존의 재료 성형 공정과는 비교적 색다른 성형 공정의 개발에도 관심을 가져야 할 것이다.

Evaluation of the COD Fractionation Capability Using Storage Microorganism from EBPR Process (EBPR 공정내 저장 미생물을 이용한 유입수 분율 분석능 평가)

  • In conventional activated sludge process, COD fractions in wastewater are important parameters, significantly. Depending on characteristics of influent COD fractionation, activated sludge process requires a major change of a process operation to ensure meeting a stricter standards. In order to validate and evaluate the accuracy of the traditional COD fractionation methodologies, readily and slowly biodegradable COD was mixed using glucose and peptone as a sole carbon source in a synthetic wastewater, respectively. In this research, prediction of the COD fraction was made using the OUR(Oxygen Utilization Rate) and the NUR(Nitrate Utilization Rate) experiments. The result showed that COD fractions calculated by OUR experiment were similar to the composition of synthetic wastewater. On the other hand, it was found that an error was generated during the NUR experiment. This error was due to the intracellular storage period for storage microorganisms such as PAOs, and the error in COD fraction was observed about 8-14 % in terms of Total COD.

Fabrication of PP/Carbon Fiber Composites by Introducing Reactive Interphase and its Properties (반응성 고분자 계면상을 도입한 PP/탄소섬유 복합재료의 제조와 물성)

  • In general, the development of thermoplastic composites has been confronted with difficult problems such as the weak bonding strength between fibers and matrix. However, now, such problems are being surmounted by the development of resins, the improvement of processes, and introduction of interphase. Especially, the introduction of interphase between fiber and matrix can help a dissipation of the impact energy and provide a good adhesion between fibers and matrix. In this study, polymeric interphase was introduced by electrodeposition, modified polypropylene was added to improve the weak bonding strength between interphase and polypropylene matrix. By evaluation of interlaminar shear strength and impact strength of the composites, it was found that composites with introduced composites showed higher mechanical properties than those of composites without interphase. Reactive polymers which have either anhydride or free acid functional group were used as interphase materials, and these polymers also behave as charge carrier in aqueous solution during the electrodeposition process. Weight gain on the carbon fibers was evaluated by changing process parameters such as concentration of solution, current density, and electrodeposition time.

Effects of Processing Parameters on the Mechanical Properties of Aluminium Matrix Composites (알루미늄 기지 금속복합재료의 기계적 성질에 미치는 제조변수의 영향)

  • The effects of additional Mg content, the size and volume fraction of reinforcement phase on the mechanical properties of ceramic particle reinforced aluminium matrix composites fabricated by pressureless metal infiltration process were investigated. The hardness of $SiC_p/AC8A$ composites increased gradually with an increase in the additive Mg content, while the bending strength of $SiC_p/AC8A$ composites increased with an increase in additive Mg content up to 5%. However, this decreased when the level of additive Mg content was greater than 5% due to the formation of coarse precipitates by excessive Mg reaction and an increase in the porosity level. The hardness and strength of the composites increased with decreasing the size of SiC particle. It was found that the composites with smaller particles enhanced the interfacial bonding than those with bigger particles from fractography of the composites. The hardness of $Al_2O_{3p}/AC8A$ composites increased gradually with an increase in the volume fraction, however, the bending strength of $Al_2O_{3p}/AC8A$ composites decreased when the volume fraction of alumina particle was greater than 40% owing to the high porosity level.

Effect of a Matrix Structure on the Initiation of Fatigue Crack and Fatigue Strength in Nodular Graphite Cast Iron (구상흑연 주철재의 피로크랙 발생 및 피로강도에 미치는 기지조직의 영향)

  • It is required the superior materials for the parts of machines or structures, which could be endurable in severe load and environment. According to advancement of casting technology, nodular graphite cast iron is used as suitable for such condition. But nodular graphite cast iron is scattering of fatigue strength and low reliability. Therefore in this study, the effect of matrix structure and number of nodular graphite on the initiation of fatigue crack and fatigue strength. It was found that the material which has relatively high ferrite volume fraction was more easily cracked than other materials and fatigue limit was low. The material which has not found pinhole on the surface, the crack was initiated in graphite went through ferrite and propagated into through graphite, but separated graphite and ferrite grain boundary and combined with other cracks to fro large one.
