A study on preference for complementary and alternative therapy using Q method (Q방법론을 활용한 보완대체요법 선호에 관한 연구)

  • Today modern people have been searching on managing themselves in easy ways without side-effects to lead a healthy and quality life, accordingly concerns about complementary and alternative medicine have been increasing. The scientific term' complementary and alternative medicine' has been originally used in the US and has become the general term for natural treatment of medical methods, which can be suggested as an alternative solution to modern medical problems. There should be a study based on users' subjectivity to reinvigorate complementary and alternative medicine more than it does now. The purpose of this study is to offer basic materials when assessing practical applications on complementary and alternative medicine using the Q method which is subjective pattern analysis, help understand features of complementary and alternative therapy according to patterns, and find out preferences for patterns of complementary and alternative therapy. As a result patterns of complementary and alternative medicine were classified into three types. Firstly, type I prefers to biological/herbal treatment. Secondly, type II prefers to mixed treatments. Thirdly, type III prefers to manual healing.

Types of Contemporary Emotional Designs : A Focus on the Correlation with Social Paradigms (현대 감성디자인의 표현유형 분석 : 사회적 패러다임과의 연관성 분석을 중심으로)

  • Contemporary era has witnessed a diversity of emotion and emotions being expressed through consumption. This paper examines the relationship between social paradigms and emotional design by means of literature study. In sections 2 and 3, I examine the prevalent social paradigms and the concept/development of emotional design. In section 4, I show the correspondence between social paradigms and specific types of emotional design. More specifically it is shown that "pluralism and decentrality" has led to fun design, individual design and participative design; "emotional revolution" has given rise to multi-sensory design, design with positive feelings, design with negative feelings and aesthetic design; "non-materialistic values" have their correspondence in design as performance and story-telling in design; and "organic worldview" finds its expression in ecological design with a wellness emphasis, and in interactive emotional design.

The Sidedness Effects of Advertising Message: Moderating Effect of Self-Construal and Product Type (광고 메시지의 측면성 효과: -자아해석과 제품유형의 조절효과-)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine sidedness effects of a Ad message and moderating roles of consumers' psychological characteristics such as self-construal. This study also examine moderating roles of product type in these direct effects. To test these research hypotheses, this study conducted experimental designs. Two hundred thirty-eight undergraduate students were assigned to one of the four experimental groups. Message type and product type were manipulated as between-subject factors. The data demonstrate that message types have a significant effect on both attitude toward Ad and acceptance intention. In addition, consumers' self-construal plays a significant moderating role between the message types and the dependent variables. Furthermore, product types also shows a moderating effect on the accpetance intention, yet not on the attitude toward Ad. The results of this study suggest various implications by indicating Ad message as an important factor which can enhance customers' positive responses but has been passed over by the previous research. We also indicated the limitations of this study, and suggested the future research directions.

A Study on Subjective Recognition of Food-truck Customers Using Q Methodology (Q방법론을 활용한 푸드 트럭 이용고객의 주관적 인식 연구)

  • This study applied Q methodology to consumers who have experience using food trucks to understand subjective perception of food truck customers. The purpose of this study is to characterize the perceptual structure of food truck customers, to describe characteristics of the types and to suggest some implications. The results of the type analysis are as follows. The first type (N = 10): Food truck zone accessibility preferred type, the second type (N = 8): Complex entertainment experience type, the third type (N = 9) = 3): Fast food preference type. Future research on food trucks, restaurants, and tourism will be based on a variety of literature and empirical studies, and will be revised and supplemented with more detailed Q methodological questions and analytical techniques to analyze the various opinions of respondents in a more concrete and objective manner.

Exploring the Growth Process Types of Social Welfare Organizations in Korea - Focusing on Social Welfare Corporations Operating Social Welfare Facilities - (사회복지조직의 조직성장유형에 관한 탐색적 연구 - 시설운영 사회복지법인을 중심으로 -)

  • This study analyzed the growth process types of social welfare corporations that have operated social welfare facilities after the Korean War and studied the methods of their organizational management. A number of 20 participants composed of the original founders, directors, and chief directors of social welfare corporations that have been established for more than 40 years were selected for in-depth interviews. The researcher had procedures of in-depth interviews with 20 participants, relevant literature reviews, conformation of the research results by participants and peer reviews. There were 169 concepts, 49 sub-categories, and 21 categories revealed by applying the grounded theory method of Strauss and Corbin. The organizational growth types were categorized into the three patterns: familism practicing type, community changing guidance type and the realization of a just society leading types. The results from the research work will provide understanding the original characteristics of social welfare corporations in Korea, building the theory for the growth process types of social welfare corporations and implicating the practice of social welfare organizational management.

Advertising Strategies of Incongruent Extension Product : Focused on Difference of Adult and Children (불일치 확장제품의 광고전략 : 성인과 아동의 차이를 중심으로)

  • Previous researches on advertising type of extension product have limitations in focusing on adult and simplifying advertising type of extension product as elaborational/relational ad. This study expands to children and subdivides advertising type of extension product by elaborational/relational/elaborational-relational ad. Based on these experimental setting, this study investigates the effects of interaction between age and advertising type in incongruent brand extension. The results show that adult's evaluation on incongruent extension product is the most favorable in elaborational-relational ad. On the other hand, children's evaluation on incongruent extension product is the most favorable in elaborational ad. Based on these findings, theoretical and practical implication and future direction are discussed.

성격유형이 정보원선택에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 - 금융상품정보를 중심으로 -

  • 금융기관들은 개인들의 다양한 욕구를 충족시키기 위해서 경쟁적으로 수많은 금융상품을 개발하여 판매하기 시작하였으며, 이러한 상품들은 나름대로 독특한 특성을 지니게 되어, 개인들은 이에 대한 수많은 정보를 수집하고 분석할 필요성을 가지게 되었다. 금융상품정보의 정보원 선택 선호요인으로는 정보원 자체의 특정 이외에도 개인이 가지는 성격적 특징과 환경적 요인들을 들 수 있다. 따라서 개인의 성격유형에 따라 선호하는 정보원의 유사점과 차이점을 알아보았다. 본 연구에서는 금융상품정보를 취득하는 정보원에 대한 선호요인인 개인의 성격유형을 파악하기 위하여 MBTI(Myers Briggs Type Indicator)를 근거로 작성된 성격특성평정척도(Personality Trait Ration Scales: PTRS)를 이용하여 파악된 성격유형들이 금융상품 정보원 선택에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 성격유형변수를 4개의 군집으로 집단화하고 성격요인과 차이분석을 실시한 결과 감정 직관적인 성격이 강한 주관적 감정형, 외향 직관적인 성격이 강한 사교적활동형, 내향 사고적인 성격이 강한 수동적개인형, 인식 판단적인 성격이 강한 합리적이성형의 4개 군집으로 나누어졌다. 8개의 성격요인 중 감각을 제외한 7개 성격요인 모두가 p<. 05에서 4개의 성격유형군집과 유의적인 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 사교적활동형은 여러 정보원 중 'TV'를, 합리적이성형은 '잡지', '금융상품팜플렛', '재테크서적'을, 주관적감정형은 '은행창구직원', '친구나친지'를 선호하였다. 그러나 수동적개인형은 어떠한 금융상품정보원도 선호하지 않았다. 특히, 합리적이성형은 전문금융정보를 원하는 것으로 나타났고, 주관적감정형은 인간적인 면을 더 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구가 가지는 의의는 각 성격유형별로 선호하는 금융상품정보원의 차이를 분석함으로써 개인의 정보욕구를 보다 더 만족시킬 수 있는 하나의 요인으로 성격요인과 정보원의 차이에 관한 정보를 제공하며, 금융정보를 제공하는 주체들에게 각 정보원에 적합하도록 정보의 성격에 관한 특성요인과 고객선호정보원을 살펴볼 수 있는 정보취득방안에 대한 연구의 필요성을 제시하는데 있다.

Types of Parental Gatekeeping in Drama 「SKY Castle」 (드라마 「SKY 캐슬」에 나타난 아버지와 어머니의 문지기 유형)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze parental gatekeeping dimensions(control, encouragement, discouragement) and types of gatekeeping in the two families featured in the drama 「SKY Castle」. Of the 8 types of gatekeeping, the traditional gate blocker(high control, low encouragement, and high discouragement) most often described in the drama, creates a difficult situation for a father trying to participate in child rearing. But traditional gate blockers do not always unnecessarily limit father involvement. In father's coerecive and dictatorial environment, traditional maternal gatekeeping strategies protect her children and create secure environment. The facilitative gate openers(high control, high encouragement, and low discouragement) is the functional gatekeeping type. Because the mother's highly controlling and highly encouraging ways serve as a positive coparenting strategy, the facilitative gate maintain a high level of authority over the amount and type of father involvement.

The Perception Types of the Directors on PCC Financial Management and its Improvements (민간보육시설 재정관리에 관한 시설장들의 인식유형과 개선방안)

  • This study is to grasp its characteristics by typing a subjective perception of directors on a private childcare center(PCC)' financial management. This study is used the selected 25 statements and 27 directors performed the Q sort. As this result, the three types were derived. Financial Independence Type perceived that a finance accounting rules for PCC has to revised, and it is in need of guarantee of PCC' independency. Public Childcare Type is a type that a government support on PCC is aided as much as support of a National/Public childcare center. Project Support Type is the type that a rule enactment and support is correspond to a scale and characteristics of PCC. Based on the result of research, I presented a implications and suggestions on a childcare policy.

Irrecoverable Service Failure and Typology of Service Recovery (원상태로의 복구 불가능한 서비스 실패와 복구유형)

  • Service recovery research has been conducted on the premise that service problems can be returned to the original condition. This study, however, focused on irrecoverable service problems for the first time and classified them according to the types and sub-types. The specific wants of customers who experienced unrecoverable service problems were identified by analyzing the customers' emotion, behavior pattern, and the company's responses. The results revealed three main types of problems and 2 categories in group 1, 6 categories in group 2, and 2 categories in group 3. In particular, damaged items and bodily harm were frequent problems, and bodily harm was recognized as the most severe failure. Regarding the customers' emotion, the customers were so enraged at the audacity and the company still showed many problems in terms of its response to the service failures. This study also suggested the analysis results of the customers' behavior and company evaluation.
