Design of Asynchronous 16-Bit Divider Using NST Algorithm (NST알고리즘을 이용한 비동기식 16비트 제산기 설계)

  • This paper describes an efficient design of an asynchronous 16-bit divider using the NST (new Svoboda-Tung) algorithm. The divider is designed to reduce power consumption by using the asynchronous design scheme in which the division operation is performed only when it is requested. The divider consists of three blocks, i.e. pre-scale block, iteration step block, and on-the-fly converter block using asynchronous pipeline structure. The pre-scale block is designed using a new subtracter to have small area and high performance. The iteration step block consists of an asynchronous ring structure with 4 division steps for area reduction. In other to reduce hardware overhead, the part related to critical path is designed by a dual-rail circuit, and the other part is done by a single-rail circuit in the ring structure. The on-the-fly converter block is designed for high performance using the on-the-fly algorithm that enables parallel operation with iteration step block. The design results with 0.6${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS process show that the divider consists of 12,956 transistors with 1,480 $\times$1,200${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$$^2$area and average-case delay is 41.7㎱.

  • A LOX pump rotordynamic design was performed for a 75 ton thrust liquid rocket engine. Axial positions of an inducer, an impeller and bearings on a shaft are decided on the basis of the experience achieved by previously developed turbopump which has the similar layout. The result of pump hydraulic design was reflected in the present study to decide axial length of the inducer and impeller. A distance from the rear bearing to the impeller was considered as a design parameter for load distribution of the bearings. Asynchronous eigenvalue analysis was performed as a function of rotating speeds and bearing stiffness to investigate critical speed of the LOX pump. From the numerical analysis, it is found that the LOX pump with the proper bearing loads safely operates as a sub-critical rotor of which critical speed is high enough compared to the operating speed 11,000 rpm.

발사체별 정지궤도복합위성 추진제버짓 비교연구

  • 정지궤도위성은 발사체에서 위성이 분리된 이후 천이궤도로부터 원하는 목표궤도로 궤도전이를 해야 한다. 또한 임무기간동안 궤도상에서 다양한 교란을 겪게 되며 이로 인해 시간이 증가함에 따라 위성의 위치가 변화하게 된다. 정지궤도위성은 이러한 궤도전이 및 궤도상 위치변화를 제어하기 위한 추진시스템을 장착하고 임무기간에 걸쳐 요구되는 추진제를 탑재해야 한다. 위성의 설계 초기에는 추정되는 위성의 건조질량을 기반으로 하여 궤도전이와 궤도상 임무에 필요로 하는 추진제 버짓을 계산하고 이를 토대로 하여 위성 시스템 설계를 진행한다. 또한 발사체별로 발사체의 성능과 발사장에 따라 근지점고도와 발사 경사각이 모두 상이하므로 발사체가 정해지지 않은 상태에서 발사체별 추진제 버짓을 계산, 비교하고 추진 시스템의 탱크가 이를 모두 수용할 수 있는지 분석하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 정지궤도복합위성의 추정 건조질량과 임무분석을 통해 주어진 ${\Delta}V$와 각 발사체별 궤도전이에 필요한 ${\Delta}V$를 바탕으로 하여 발사체별 추진제버짓을 계산하였고 이를 비교검토 하였다. 이후 이러한 기본 자료를 바탕으로 하여 정지궤도복합위성 추진시스템의 추진제 수용가능 여부, 건조질량 증가 여유 등 기본설계를 진행할 수 있다.

A Case study on Intensive Semester of Graduation Design (졸업설계 집중학기제 운영 사례 연구)

  • As the competitiveness of university education and the demand for innovation have increased, a flexible educational system considering the characteristics of universities has become necessary. In particular, in the case of K-university, the intensive semester of Graduation Design, which dramatically improves the educational purpose, content, evaluation, and operation method of the graduate design subject, in order to cultivate a creative engineer capable of actively responding to technological change and solving practical problems. K University's intensive semester of graduation design was operated in two majors in the first semester in 2018, and three majors in the first semester in 2019. A result of survey on the status and effectiveness of intensive semester of graduation design was conducted for participating instructors and students, it was shown that the purpose of introducing intensive semester of graduation design, such as improving the instruction time, the quality of the graduation work and cultivating the competency of the student, was effective.

  • A fill-drain valve is operated by provided control gas at the ground for liquid propellant feeding system of space launch vehicle, which fills or drains on-board propellant tanks with a cryogenic oxidizer. We have analyzed and modified the data of fill-drain valve designed by Yuzhnoye. The simulation model of fill-drain valve is designed by using the AMESim code to predict and evaluate the dynamic characteristics and pneumatic behavior of valve. In this study, we performed a dynamic characteristic simulation on design parameter. And we could predict opening/closing time and pressures, operating performances on design parameters. This study will serve as one of reference guides to enhance the developmental efficiency of fill-drain valves with the various operating requirements, which shall be used in the Koreanized Space Launch Vehicle.

구조최적화의 과거, 현재, 미래

  • 현재 구조최적화는 아직도 실무설계에서 제 위상을 찾지 못하고 있다. 그 원인은 주로 지금까지의 대부분의 연구가 알고리즘 위주로, 교과서적 예제위주로 치달았기 때문이며 따라서 오늘날과 같은 고도의 전산화시대에도 실무설계자들에게 외면당하고 있는 실정이다. 앞으로 구조최적화 분야의 전문가들이 실무설계문제 응용위주의 연구개발에 주력함으로써 이러한 문제는 쉽게 극복될 것이며, 실무설계자들도 최적설계가 무엇인지 제대로 알지도 못하면서 외면만 하고 매도만 할 것이 아니라, 오늘날 멀티미디어 초고성능 PC시대에 막대한 정보 및 자료의 처리능력을 갖춘 CD롬과 고성능 통신기능, 고도의 음성, 문자, 영상인식 Input Media, 그리고 윈도우, 펜티엄 같은 현재의 OS와 OS/2, 시카고 같은 차세대 OS체계 하에서 고도의 CAD/CAD Expert 시스템이 실용화 되려면 최적설계는 재래적인 설게방법을 대치하는 시스템 내의 핵심설계코드가 되지 않을 수 없다는 점을 인식해야 할 것이다. 어차피 가까운 장래에 현재의 이론과 응용사이의 lAG와 실무설계자들의 오해가 해소되는 날이 오면 최적설계는 지금의 MPC시대는 물론 인공지능형, 사고형 차세대 컴퓨터 시대에 적합한 현대적인 구조설계법이 될 것임을 확신하는 바이다.

Waterborne Core-shell Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) Based on Polymeric Nano-dispersant (고분자 분산제를 이용한 Core-shell 수성 감압점착제)

  • An environmentally friendly water-based pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) was designed in an attempt to replace the solvent-based adhesive for dry lamination used in flexible food packaging films. Instead of using a low molecular weight surfactant, which may have variable material properties, a high molecular weight dispersant was used for emulsification. A polymeric nano-dispersant (PND) was synthesized using solution polymerization, and it was used as a micelle seed in the surfactant, resulting in the synthesis of a core/shell grafted acrylic adhesive. The shell and core exhibited different $T_g$ values, so that the initial adhesion strength and holding power were complemented by the film's flexibility, which is required to provide good adhesion of thin films. Results showed that the PSA designed in this study using the PND instead of traditional low molecular weight surfactant had adhesive properties applicable to the flexible packaging with appropriate tack.

  • The 3-dimensional GIS data provider system manages and retrieves 2, 3-dimensional spatial and time data. This system provides the standard interfaces which help developers to omit additional works to do modify or convert a format of 2 or 3-dimensional spatial data, which has been already accumulated, into that dependent on a specified system. This system consists of a data provider and data access component. The former deals with the connections with some databases and manages the meta data, so that the various GIS or software can access to 3-dimensional spatial and time data via the same method, and the latter takes charge of index management and spatial operations on GIS data for consumers. The system offers the diverse spatial operations and analysis functions for 3-dimensional GIS.

Development of Small-scale Hybrid Rocket Motor using $PE-N_2O$ Propellants ($PE-N_2O$ 추진제를 이용한 소형 하이브리드 로켓 모터 개발)

  • In this study, a hybrid rocket motor with separable and detachable oxidizer tank from combustion chamber is developed. Initially, the measured thrust of the motor showed about 30% of the design thrust since the oxidizer supply was not enough. In order to solve this problem, application is made to expand the orifice diameter of oxidizer injector empirically, so that the mass flow rate of oxidizer was improved. The improved performance was about 60% of design thrust, 18kgf, and thrust-to-weight ratio was reasonable, compared with other sounding rockets.

  • Route Design & TSS(Traffic Separation Scheme} establishment are often used to improve the maritime traffic safety in the heavily congested traffic area. There are several domestic and international route design guidelines, but there is no guideline of TSS design As a result, TSS is usually designed based on the subjective opinions of professionals in this field. Until now, there exist a few papers dealing with the effects of TSS on the reduction of maritime accidents, however, it is hard to find a paper on the design guidelines of TSS. In this paper, TSS design guidelines are proposed based on the quantitative assessment of navigational difficulty felt by mariners, which is expected to improve navigational safety of vessels in congested area.
