The Removal of Organics, Nitrogen and Phosphorus in Loop Reactor Using Fluidized Media (유동상 담체를 이용한 Loop Reactor에서 유기물 및 질소, 인 제거)

  • This study was accomplished using Anaerobic/Anoxic/Oxic upflow packed-bed column reactors with fixed media and Loop Reactor with fluidized media instead of Oxic reactor. The objectives of this study was to investigate the characteristics of organics, nitrogen and phosphorus removal from sewage with the HRT. The average removal efficiencies of $BOD_5$ and SS increase as increasing the hydraulic retention time (HRT) until 16 h of the HRT, and they were constant over 16 h of the HRT. The removal efficiency of $BOD_5$ in case of packed-bed reactor and Loop Reactor was about 86.6% and 90.9% respectively at 16 h of the HRT. The removal efficiency of SS in packed-bed reactor and Loop Reactor was about 78.0% and 88.2% respectively at 16 h of the HRT. The average removal efficiencies of $COD_{Cr}$ and $COD_{Mn}$ showed similar trends as those of $BOD_5$ and SS. At the HRT of 16 h, the removal efficiency of $COD_{Cr}$ in case of packed-bed reactor and Loop Reactor was 63.5%, 75.2% and that of $COD_{Mn}$ was 60.7%, 73.6% respectively. The average removal efficiencies of T-N and T-P increase as increasing the HRT. The removal efficiencies of T-N and T-P in Loop Reactor were 33.6% and 54.5% respectively at 16 h of the HRT and T-N and T-P were better removed in Loop Reactor. From this result, it was found that the performance of Loop Reactor was much higher than the performance of packed-bed reactor and the optimum HRT was 16 h.

  • 건고추 꼭지 제거 장치를 설계·제작하고 실험을 통하여 성능을 검증하였다. 원료 함수율 22%(wb)의 경우 꼭지 제거율은 60∼78%, 파지 발생율은 약 4% 정도로 나타났으며, 함수율 19%(wb)의 경우는 꼭지 제거율 90∼97%, 파지 발생율 약 7% 정도를 나타났다. 원료 투입량에 따른 실험 결과 꼭지 제거율 및 파지 발생율 변화가 나타나지 않아 개발된 장치의 안정성을 확인할 수 있었다.

흡착에 의한 농약 성분별 제거율의 변화

  • 본 연구에서는 백탄과 흑탄에서 농약의 제거 능력을 비교하였고, 연속 실험을 통하여 시간의 경과에 따른 농약의 제거율 변화를 평가하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 실험에 사용된 농약은 Simazine, Diazinon, Fenitrothion, Butachlor, Malathion이다. 회분식 실험 결과에 따르면, 흑탄과 백탄 양을 0.1g, 1g, 10g, 50g씩 증가시킬수록 각 농약 성분의 제거율이 높아지는 것으로 나타났으며, 농약성분에 따른 제거율을 보면, Malathion과 Butachlor는 혹탄에서 상대적으로 잘 제거가 되는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 Diazinon은 흑탄의 회분식 실험, 연속식 실험 모두 상대적으로 낮은 제거율을 보였다.

  • Heavy metals were removed from CCA- and CCFZ- treated wood using a brown-rot fungi Tyromyces palustris. The amount of effective elements extracted from treated woods was compared for different treatment methods. The relationship between the amount of heavy metals removed and concentrations of oxalic acid for treated wood was examined. Also, the relationship between mycelia weight and removal rate was examined. The removed quantity of heavy metal from treated wood according to fermentation methods was examined. The extraction amount of chromium and arsenic components increased with increasing oxalic acid concentration, but the extraction amount of copper did not improved much. A 287 mg of mycelia weight can remove chromium and arsenic over 60% in 3 g CCA chips and copper was also removed over 50%. The chromium, copper and arsenic were removed over 60% by shaking fermentation, the removal rate of copper by static cultivation was higher than that of shaking fermentation. The removal rate of chromium, copper and arsenic were 72%, 61% and 59% with air-lift bioreactor, respectively.

  • BOD 제거효율은 우기에는 평균 83%, 그 외의 기간은 87%로 나타나 유입수의 수질과 관계없이 처리되는 것으로 나타났다. 총질소 처리율은 운전초기와 유입수의 총질소농도가 낮을 때 대략 30% 정도의 제거율을 나타내었으며 그 이외는 10%의 제거율을, 봄이되면서 제거율이 20%대로 증가하였다. 유입수중의 평균 총인농도는 3.5mg/L였으며, 유출수의 평균 농도는 2.5mg/L로 나타나 평균 28.6%의 제거율을 보였다.

숯을 이용한 농약 제거에 관한 연구

  • 본 연구는 회분식과 연속식으로 나누어 숯의 농약 흡착 능력을 평가하였다. 실험에 사용된 농약은 Simazine, Diazinon, Fenitrothion, Butachlor, Malathion이다. 회분식 실험 결과에 따르면, 흑탄과 백탄 양을 0.1g, 1g, 10g, 50g씩 증가시킬수록 농약 성분의 제거율이 높아지는 것으로 나타났으며, 흑탄이 백탄 보다 농약 성분을 잘 제거하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 1g 주입시 흑탄은 백탄보다 Malathion을 약 15%, Rutachlor을 약 19%, Fenitrothion을 약 25%씩 제거율이 더 높게 나타난 것으로 보아 흡착이 잘된다고 판단된다. 반면에 회분식에서 Diazinon의 제거율은 상대적으로 낮게 나타났나. 연속식 실험에서도 흑탄이 백탄보다 더 높은 제거율을 나타내었으며, 특히 흑탄 칼럼에서는 흡착 시간$(21\sim31hr)$에서 농약 성분의 평균 제거율을 비교해 본 결과, Simazine은 90%, Fenitrothion은 82%, Butachlor은 81%로 나타났으며, 특히 Diazinon의 제거율은 55%로 나타나 상대적으로 흡착이 잘 되지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

Removal of Microalgae Using Inorganic Coagulants in Coagulation and Sedimentation Processes for Water Treatment (응집.침전공정에서 무기고분자응집제를 이용한 미세조류의 제거)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the removal possibility of microalgae using inorganic coagulants in coagulation and sedimentation process for water treatment. Removal of microalgae was studied according to coagulant type(Alum and PAC), coagulation factors(alkalinity, coagulant dosage, and setting time), and size fraction of microalgae. The contribution of applied coagulants for removal of microalgae was also examined. The removal rate of the microalgae by change of alkalinity was most high in 25 mg/L of alkalinity(Alum) as 87.2% and 30 mg/L of that(PAC) as 90.1%. Optimal coagulant dosage to remove the microalgae was 40 mg/L(removal effi.; 88.1%), and PAC was 50 mg/L(removal effi.; 90.1%). Alum was better than the PAC to remove the microlgae. In the water treatment processes such as rapid slow mixing and sedimentation the removal efficiency of microalgae with coagulants was 2 times higher than that of without. In optimal condition, the removal efficiencies of microalgae were nanoplankton > microplankton > picoplankton. Especially, the removal efficiency of the picoplankton was very low as below 30%.

Removal Improvement in Water Treatment Plant for Occurrence of Diatoms (Synedra sp.) in the Nakdong River (낙동강유역 상수원의 규조류 발생에 따른 정수장에서 제거율 향상 방안)

  • This study was conducted to investigate removal characteristics for Synedra sp. and filter run time (FRT) according to the cell length in the Nakdong River. When used alone flocculent, the removal efficiency for Synedra tenera (around $100{\mu}m$) was constant with 90.9~94.4%, while Synedra acus (around $300{\mu}m$) had the lower removal efficiency as 60~70%. $PACS_2$ and PAC showed 5~6% higher removal for S. acus than others (HiB and LAS). When added coagulant aid, loess had no effect and also needed more amount of flocculent. Sodium Silicate increased the removal rate by max 10.6%. On the other hand, 2.5 mg/L of Polyamine showed 96.9% removal efficiency for S. acus increasing up to 25% more than $PACS_2$ alone. In the effect of water temperature, the removal for S. acus at $15^{\circ}C$ were 6% higher than at $4^{\circ}C$. There was no significant correlation between the removal efficiencys of turbidity and S. acus. The results of this study was similar to the actual water treatment process's removal characteristics for Synedra sp. depending on the cell length and temperature. In the actual process, the numbers of Synedra in settled water was established natural logarithm function with the filter run time (FRT), so we can predict FRT as Synedra numbers.

방사성 세탁폐액 처리를 위한 복합공정 연구

  • 모의 방사성 세탁폐액을 제조하여 오존에 의한 세제 파괴를 확인하고 활성탄 및 이온교환수지를 이용하여 세제 및 Co, Cs 제거율을 조사하였으며 모의 방사성 세탁폐액을 오존으로 부분적으로 산화ㆍ파괴시킨후 활성탄 및 이온교환수지에 의한 흡착 및 이온교환 실험을 수행하여 오존의 세제 파괴가 방사성 물질 제거에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 오존에 의해 세제는 75% 정도 제거될 수 있었고 활성탄으로 방사성 모의세탁폐액을 처리할 때 세제농도가 증가하면 방사성 핵종 제거율이 감소하였다. 이온교환수지로 세제를 제거할 때 성취가능 제거율은 Co의 경우 99% 이상이었으며, 세제 존재시 방사성 Co 및 Cs 제거율은 감소하며, 방사성 모의세탁폐액을 오존으로 조사후 활성탄과 이온교환수지로 방사성 핵종을 제거할 때 그 제거율은 거의 변화가 없었다. 이상과 같은 실험 결과로부터 오존으로 부분적으로 산화시켜 활성탄의 세제 제거효율을 최대화하고, 역삼투막에 의한 방사성 핵종을 제거하며 이온교환수지로 잔류 방사성 핵종을 완전히 처리할 수 있는 복합 공정을 도출하였다.

  • The permeate flux was lower when PAC was added compared to without PAC system. It can be concluded that PAC is cause of membrane fouling. The effect of flow volume was found not significant for the three samples. But it was shown high rejection rate due to adsorption of organic matter to PAC in the case of adding PAC.
