An Experimental Study on the Structure Behavior of H & Channel-Type Lining Board (H형 복공판과 Channel형 복공판의 구조거동에 관한 연구)

  • The objective of this paper is to investigate the lining board's capacity for the static load. The test is to inspect the possibility of retrofit and efficiency, which is required to upgrade the structure's capacity and to examine the effects of the improvements of specimen by using structural analysis, and static loading test, respectively. As the result of static loading test for measured stresses and deflections. H type lining board take sufficient load carrying capacity and high stiffness which likes ultimate load, displacement, and bending stresses of intermediate span and top, bottom flange more than 3 times channel type lining board.

Static Behavior of Bi Prestressed Concrete Girders (프리스트레스트 콘크리트거더의 정적거동 평가)

  • This study was performed to estimate the workability and the static behavior for Bi Prestressed Concrete Girder(Bicon girder) which could introduce effectively prestressed forces into concrete girders. A bicon girder is manufactured by means of introducing pure bending moment that prestress simultaneously the compressive member(steel bar) and the tensile member(steel tendon). Static test was executed for 20m railway bridge girder specimen and evaluated whether pure bending moment was introduced or not, and the behaviors after cracking, and at the ultimate load. Test results showed that a bicon girder had the enough safety in the introduction of pure moment, the serviceability, and the ultimate behavior.

An Adaptive FEC Code Control Algorithm for Mobile Sensor Networks (이동 센서 네트워크를 위한 적응적 FEC 코드 제어 알고리즘)

  • 전파(propagation) 오류가 빈번한 무선 이동 네트워크에서는 전송 성능을 향상하기 위해 FEC(Forward Error Correction) 알고리즘을 채택한다. 그러나 정적인 FEC 코드 제어 방식은 연속적으로 변화하는 전파 오류율에 알맞은 정정 코드(check code)를 적용하지 못해 성능이 저하된다. 일례로 측정한 고 오류 무선 센서 네트워크에서는 초단위 평균 BER(Bit Error Rate) 또는 분단위 평균 BER이 0에서 최대 $10^{-3}$까지 연속적으로 변화한다. 이러한 무선 환경에서 전파 오류를 $100\%$ 복구하기 위한 정정 코드를 채택하는 경우에는, 불필요한 정정 코드량은 전체 데이터에 최대 $20\%$를 차지한다. 본 논문에서는 무선 채널의 BER을 직접 측정하지 않고 패킷 전송 성공 여부에 따라 정정 코드의 량, 즉 FEC단계를 동적으로 변화하는 AFECCC (Adaptive FEC Code Control) 알고리즘을 소개한다. AFECCC는 트레이스 기반(trace-driven) 시뮬레이션에서 정적 FEC 방식에 비해 최대 $5\%$ 이상, 또한 실제 센서 네트워크에서는 정적 FEC 알고리즘에 비해 최대 $15\%$ 성능이 향상되었다.

Test and Evaluation of the Propeller Developed for a Multi-copter with the Take-off Weight of 25 kg (이륙 중량 25 kg급 멀티콥터용 프로펠러 시험 평가)

  • Structural static test and the performance test were conducted to determine whether the propeller developed for a multi-copter with the take-off weight of 25 kg satisfies the design requirement. The result of the structural test revealed that the propeller had a safety margin of 3 or more as the ultimate load and requirement load did not cause the specimen breakage. In the performance test, the propeller generated the hover thrust and maximum thrust of design requirement, and hover efficiency in the operating thrust range was greater than 0.73. Maximum hover efficiency increased by more than 3% compared to the reference propeller and electric power consumption decreased by more than 4% in the operating range. The propeller was found to be successfully developed based on the satisfaction rate of the structural strength requirement and the performance requirement.

  • This paper proposes using dynamic momentum for squential learning method. Using The dynamic momentum improves convergence speed and performance by the variable momentum, also can identify it in the RMSE(root mean squared error). The proposed method is reflected using variable momentum according to current state. While static momentum is equally influenced on the whole, dynamic momentum algorithm can control the convergence rate and performance. According to the variable change of momentum by training. Unlike former classification and regression problems, this paper confirms both performance and regression rate of the dynamic momentum. Using RMSE(root mean square error ), which is one of the regression methods. The proposed dynamic momentum has been applied to the kernel adatron and kernel relaxation as the new sequential learning method of support vector machine presented recently. In order to show the efficiency of the proposed algorithm, SONAR data, the neural network classifier standard evaluation data, are used. The simulation result using the dynamic momentum has a better convergence rate, performance and RMSE than those using the static moment, respectively.

  • With the change and development of modem architecture, architectural configurations are increasingly diversified and irregular. However, the building configurations without proper seismic considerations may cause severe damages under earthquake loads. Therefore, it is necessary to establish and implement more properly classified, specific and advanced conceptual seismic design strategies. This study explores the relationship between building configurations and seismic performance by adopting several horizontal building configurations with various re-entrant corners. For the clear comparison of five different horizontal configuration models, almost aspects of structural properties are equalized. The equivalent static analyses are conducted with the aim of understanding the characteristics of various re-entrant comers under standard earthquake loads. The seismic advantages of regular configuration model are clearly approved and the structural weak points at the re-entrant comers are investigated numerically and graphically.

  • The easiest way to see the phenomena of compressor surge is to show the static and dynamic operation characteristic on the map. Its operation zone will be restricted by the surge limit and, static and transient process must have some margin for it. Effect of rotor moment of inertia, air/gas volumes and heat transfer are factors to cause the transition from the static line. In case a large volume such as heat exchanger exists in the system it will exert a substantial influence to dynamic characteristics. In the present paper, influence of air volume bled from the compressor exit on transient process is investigated with an example of an auxiliary power unit micro-turbine engine. Turbine mass, pressure ratio, rotation speed, power and moment are calculated based on mass and work conservation. Result from the present study can give guidance to design the control system. A computer program is developed to calculate the dynamic process using the MathCAD commercial software.

People Counting Method using Moving and Static Points of Interest (동적 및 정적 관심점을 이용하는 사람 계수 기법)

  • Among available people counting methods, map-based approaches based on moving interest points have shown good performance. However, the stationary people counting is challenging in such methods since all static points of interest are considered as background. To include stationary people in counting, it is needed to discriminate between the static points of stationary people and the background region. In this paper, we propose a people counting method based on using both moving and static points. The proposed method separates the moving and static points by motion information. Then, the static points of the stationary people are classified using foreground mask processing and point pattern analysis. The experimental results reveal that the proposed method provides more accurate count estimation by including stationary people. Also, the background updating is enabled to solve the static point misclassification problem due to background changes.

Mechanical Performances of Boards Made from Carbonized Rice Husk and Sawdust: The Effect of Resin and Sawdust Addition Ratio (왕겨숯과 톱밥을 이용하여 제조한 보드의 역학적 성능: 수지 및 톱밥첨가량의 영향)

  • A board was manufactured for each resin and sawdust addition using the chaff made by carbonizing the chaff charcoal, an agricultural by-product that emerge during the rice pounding process, and sawdust. And effects of the additions of resin and sawdust on coefficients of dynamic and static modulus of elasticity, modulus of rupture, as well as the relationship between the dynamic modulus of elasticity, statis modulus of elasticity, and modulus of rupture were investigated. As phenol resin addition of chaff charcoal-sawdust compound board increases to 10~25%, the bending performance has increased. This suggests that resin addition largely effects the bending performance. Although the bending performance was gradually increased with the increase in sawdust addition, since the coefficients of determination (R2) between the sawdust addition with the coefficients of dynamic, static modulus of elasticity, and modulus of rupture were 0.4012, 0.0809, and 0.1971, respectively. Thus, it showed a relatively lower correlation, and the effect of sawdust on bending performance was small. Since a high correlation was confirmed between dynamic and static modulus of elasticity, and modulus of rupture of chaff charcoal-sawdust compound board, it was confirmed that prediction of static modulus of elasticity and modulus of rupture can be made in a nondestructive way from the dynamic modulus of elasticity.

Performance of Transaction Processing Schemes in Mobile Database Systems (이동 데이터베이스체계에서 거래처리 기법의 성능)

  • In mobile database system, transactions processing schemes address in ones using a static coordinator and coordinator migration. This apply coordinator migration mechanism which perform the transaction in new database server when posed to be the transaction service handoff. That apply static coordinator mechanism which perform the transaction in database server to begin the transaction when posed to be the transaction service handoff. In this paper, a scheme-independent simulation model has been developed in order to support comparative performance studies of mobile transaction processing schemes. And this paper describes the model in detail and presents simulation results which were obtained for what it believe to be the performance evaluation of the mobile transaction processing schemes. Finally, the mobile transaction processing schemes will improve system performance by minimizing the transmission of message for processing the transactions in mobile database system.
