Static Pressure Drop as Affected by Moisture and Fine Material in Wheat (밀의 함수율과 미세립자가 정압강하에 미치는 영향)

  • 공기통풍 건조시 공기흐름(airflow)에 대한 곡물저항(grain resistance)은 송풍시스템에서 fan의 선정시 매우 중요하다. 지금까지는 공기흐름에 대한 곡물저항은 주로 Shedd의 curve에 준하여 정해졌다. 그러나 실제의 경우 곡물수확 또는 건조시 기계적 원인에 의하여 미세립자(fine material)가 생성된다. 이에 본 연구에서 밀(red hard winter wheat)을 대상으로 송풍량, 함수율, 미세립자량이 정압강하(static pressure drop)에 미치는 영향을 규명하였고, 이러한 변수가 포함된 수학적 모델을 개발하였다. 독립변수는 0.051로부터 $0.203m^3/m^2.sec$에 이르는 7단계의 각각 다른 송풍량과 3단계의 함수율 (11, 13, 15%w.b), 4단계의 미세립자량(0, 2, 4, 8%)이고, 종속변수는 정압강하이다. 정압강하와 test bed에서의 송풍량은 micromanometer를 사용하여 측정하였다. 결과는 독립변수(송풍량, 함수율, 미세립자량)는 모두 정압강하에 significant하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 규정된 범위내에서 함수율이 증가함에 따라 정압강하는 최고 45% 까지 감소되었고, 반면 미세립자량이 증가함에 따라 정압강하는 최고 195%까지 증가되었다. 수집된 data로서 다음과 같은 regression equation이 개발되었다($P=AV+BV^2+C(MO)V+D(FM)V$). 본 연구의 결과는 공기송풍시스팀에서 송풍량, 함수율, 미세립자량이 정압강하에 미치는 영향을 규명하였고, 에너지 절약적 송풍시스템을 설계하는 데 도움이 될 수 있을 것이다.

Static Pressure Drop of Airflow in Packed-bed of Fruits and Vegetables (청과물 퇴적층에서의 공기유동 정압강하)

  • The purpose of this paper is to obtain the basic data for design of pressure cooling system. Static pressure drop, as a function of superficial velocity, was measured for different stacking methods and stacking heights of some fruits and vegetables. At given superficial velocity, sphericity and void fraction had a much greater influence on static pressure drop than average diameter of spherical fruits such as apple, peach, tomato and kiwi fruit. Among cylindrical vegetables such as cucumber, carrot, radish and chinese cabbage, cucumber showed different pattern of static pressure drop because of its bended shape, radish showed less static pressure drop than other vegetables because its large sizes of voids. When cucumber and spinach were stacked vertically and horizontally to air flow, a much greater static pressure drop was shown in vertical than in horizontal type, therefore static pressure drop was affected not only by void fraction but also by void shape. Also, in packed-beds of fruits and vegetables, static pressure drop could be estimated very well by Ramsins equation.

The Effect of Air Vent Holes and Stacking Methods of Fruits and Vegetables Boxes on Static Pressure Drop in Pressure Cooling System (청과물상자의 통기공 및 상자적재방법이 정압강하에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of air vent holes, stacking methods of boxes and clearance between boxes on static pressure drop, were measured to design of pressure cooling system. Static pressure drops in air vent hole of carton box were measured for different hole opening ratio from 1% to 5%. Static pressure drop was expressed as a function of superficial velocity as second-degree polynomial. At given static pressure in plenum chamber, static pressure drop in boxes was shown as second-degree polynomial of the number of carton box in series stacking method, as first-degree polynomial in height and parallel stacking method. In pressure cooling of 24 boxes of Tsugaru apple, air flow rates through clearance between the boxes were shown 1.27 and 1.65 times than those of through the inside of boxes at the plenum pressure of 10mmAq and 20mmAq, respectively.

  • IN 617의 시편으로 1073K의 온도와 107과 180 MPA의 응력에서 $\varepsilon$=0.18까지 정압크\ulcorner을 한 직후 107 MPa로 응력을 낮추고 (응력강하시험), 또 다른 시편에는 180 ↔ 0.2 MPa의 응력으로 각각 17초씩 반복주기변형을 수행하여 정압크\ulcorner 변형시의 크\ulcorner곡선과 비교를 하엿다. 그 결과 IN 617 의 반복주기변형에서는 변형속도둔화(CCD)가 발생함을 알 수 있었고, 응력강하와 반복변형시험은 모두 거의 같은 모양의 회복 크\ulcorner곡선을 나타내었다. 이러한 회복 크\ulcorner은 아결정립크기와 자유전위밀도로서 그 회복기구를 설명할수 있었다.

Estimation of the Effective Hydraulic Conductivity in the Granite Area as an Equivalent Continuum Medium (등연속체매질로서의 화강암지역의 유효수리전도도 산출)

  • This study is focused on the characterization of an effective hydraulic conductivity in each hydrogeologic unit assumed as an equivalent continuum medium in the granitic area. Four boreholes of 3" diameter were installed and a Multi-packer system was facilitated in the selected borehole. Various in-situ tests including the fracture logging, constant injection and fall-off tests, slug and pulse tests were carried out. A hydrogeologic unit was defined into the upper and lower zones based on the variation of fracture properties and hydraulic conductivities. The difference of the result obtained by the various hydraulic tests and the effective characterization techniques on rock mass permeability are also discussed. The effective hydraulic conductivity of the upper unit was measured by two times(5.27E-10 m/s~7.57E-10 m/s) that of the lower unit(2.45E-10 m/s~6.81E-10 m/s)through the constant injection and fall-off tests.

  • A "two-fluid" equation model has been applied for predicting gas-solid suspension flows through a Venturi tube. In the "two-fluid"equation model, the bulk motion of the particles is considered as a continuum whose governing equation is obtained by averaging the conservation equations over a volume and expressing the equations in differential forms. Closure of the time-mean equations is achieved by modeling the turbulent correlations with an extended mixing-length theory. Proposed closure model is found to aptly simulate the dependency of the static pressure drop on the particle size, flow rate and the loading ratio.d the loading ratio.

  • This study was conducted in order to design a piston, part of a shock absorber, and the findings after examining the features of the velocity distribution and the static pressure distribution of oil on a low-velocity piston are as follow. The compression speed of oil passing through an 0.9 mm orifice was 0.0156~0.0642 m/s, and the velocity vector of the velocity distribution and the static pressure distribution had a greater tendency to rotate when the velocity increased. In case of the velocity vector of the velocity distribution and the static pressure distribution with an 0.8mm orifice, the speed changed secondarily, the second pressure-drop was observed and as for the distribution of the streamline around the orifice, a vortex was produced around the center. As for the velocity distribution of oil passing from the compression cylinder to the compact pipe, the velocity was greater in orifice of small diameter. Also, the greater the pressure difference was between the compression cylinder and the compact cylinder, the greater the force it was upon the piston.

  • Hydraulic Transients would be occurred since pressure is increased or decreased when water speed inside of pipeline is rapidly changed A study on water hammer has become more important because the pumping stations were big and the systems conveying the fluid through the large and long transmission pipelines were complex. In this study, the method of characteristic line was adopted to evaluate the valve-induced water hammer phenomena in a pumps feedwater system.

Venturi Effects Induced by the Local Ventilation Fan in Large-Opening Room-and-Pillar Mining Sites (대단면 갱내 국부 선풍기의 벤츄리(Venturi) 효과 연구)

  • In large-opening room-and-pillar mining sites, particularly without the devices for the ventilation control, the airflow pattern created by the local fan operation is too complicated to quantify and also shows low ventilation efficiency. This study aims at performing a series of CFD analysis for the so-called venturi effects of the local fans; the effects of increasing airflow rate along the axis downstream of fan resulting from increased kinetic energy and subsequently decreased static pressure in the downstream. Effects of the fan type and installation height are compared. 1 vane-axial fan and 2 propeller fans are analyzed for their venturi effects, while the vane-axial fan was installed at the height of 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0m for comparison. The results can be applied to improve the economy and efficiency of local fans for securing better air quality and work environment management.

A High Power SP3T MMIC Switch (고출력 SP3T MMIC 스위치)

  • The monolithic single-pole three-throw(SP3T) GaAs PIN diode switch circuit for the broadband and high power application was designed, fabricated and characterized. To improve the power handling capability, buffer layers of the diode employ both low temperature buffer and superlattice buffer. The diode show the breakdown voltage of 65V and turn-on voltage of 1.3V. The monolithic integrated switch employed microstrip lines and backside via holes for low-inductance signal grounding. The vertical epitaxial PIN structure demonstrated better microwave performance than planar type structures due to lower parasitics and higher quality intrinsic region. As the large signal characteristics of the fabricated SP3T MMIC switch, the insertion loss was measured less than 0.6dB and the isolation better than 50dB when the input power was increased from 8dBM to 32dBm at 14.5GHz.
