Comparisons of the Particle Emission Characteristics Between GDI and MPI Vehicles (GDI와 MPI 자동차의 미세입자 배출특성 비교)

  • As the regulations for Particulate Matter (PM) and Particle Number (PN) emissions from Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) Vehicle stringent recently, a lot of studies have been made on the emission characteristics of PM and PN. In this study, PM and PN emission characteristics were compared to GDI and Multi Port Injection (MPI) Vehicles using the Condensation Particle Counter (CPC) measurement equipment. And driving mode is divided into normal driving mode (CVS-75, NEDC, NIER 6, NIER 9) and a constant speed driving mode (10 km/h, 35 km/h, 80 km/h, 110 km/h) to evaluate the characteristics in the various operating conditions. In the results, most of the driving mode, PM and PN were emitted from GDI Vehicle more than MPI Vehicle. However, in the constant speed mode of 110 km/h, PM and PN from MPI Vehicle were also a lot of emission. It is determined to cause a difficulty in the fuel injection control of the MPI Vehicle.

  • The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has introduced low-floor buses, which are convenient for passengers getting on and off the bus and for the handicapped. The standard bus model is 11 m long and uses compressed natural gas (CNG). However, this model has drawbacks in narrow rural road conditions such as those in farming and fishing villages and mountainous areas, as well as difficulty in refueling since CNG facilities are not readily available. In this study, running resistance values were obtained by coasting performance tests on actual roads using a Tata Daewoo LF-40 model with three different weight conditions: curb vehicle weight (CVW), half vehicle weight (HVW), and gross vehicle weight (GVW).The test methods include WHVC, NIER-06, and constant-speed driving at 60 km/h. These tests were used to measure the fuel economy of vehicles other than the target vehicles to obtain the combined fuel economy. The energy efficiency was highest in the case of CVW. In the WHVC mode, the fuel consumption rates of HVW and GVW were typically 3.5% and 12% higher than that of CVW, respectively. In constant-speed driving, the fuel efficiency of HVW was higher than that of CVW. Further research is required to analyze the exhaust gas data.

Prediction of Vehicle Acceleration Performance and Fuel Economy (차량의 가속성능 및 연비예측)

  • 여기서는 차량의 구동 성능을 예측하기 위하여 대우자동차에서 최근에 개발한 프로그램에 대하여 설명하고자 한다. 이 프로그램의 특징으로는 기능의 다양화 및 사용의 편리함을 들 수 있다. 이 프로그램은 수동 및 자동 변속기 장착 차량의 가속 성능과 연비를 예측할 수 있게 하였다. 정속 주행 시험과 같이 일정 속도의 주행 상태와, 가속 성능 시험에서와 같이 정해진 드로틀개도 변화에 따르는 주행 상태뿐 아니라, LA-4모두, Tokyo-10모드와 같이 시간에 따라 변화하는 속 도에 따른 주행 상태의 시뮬레이션도 가능하게 하였다. 주행 저항 계산방법으로는 풍동시험을 이용한 방법뿐 아니라 타행 (Coastdown) 시험을 이용하는 방법을 추가하였다. 예측 결과의 정 확도에 별로 영향을 주지않는 부분은 단순화시켜 모델링함으로써 입력 데이터 수를 작게 하였고 이로 인하여 사용자의 편리성을 높게 하였다.

  • 최근의 차량 연비는 고가의 연료 가격과 환경 규제 등으로 인하여 중요한 문제로 대두되었다. 전기, 전자, 반도체, 기계 등의 기술 발달은 연비 개선에 많은 공헌을 하였다. 그러나 연비 측정은 현재도 주어진 모드(LA-4, FTP-75 등)에서 컴퓨터 모의시험 및 다이나모에서 수행한다. 이렇게 측정한 연비는 실제 도로 주행 연비와 차이가 발생하는데, 그 주요 원인중의 하나는 도로의 경사를 고려하지 않았기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 경사가 심한 영동고속도로를 정속 주행하여 연료 소모량을 측정하고 연비를 계산한다. 또한 같은 도로를 경사가 없다고 가정하여 주행한 연비와 비교 분석한다. 이때 두 경우를 비교하여 경사에 의해 소모된 연료량 차이를 계산하고, 이 타이어 구동력과 엔진에서 소모된 연료량과의 관계를 검증한다.

Evaluation of Fuel Consumption Models for Eco-friendly Traffic Operations Strategies (친환경 교통운영전략을 위한 차량 연료소모량 예측모형 평가)

  • As the necessity of the evaluation of environmentally-friendly traffic operations strategies becomes obvious, the characteristics of fuel consumption models should be comprehended in advance. This study selected three fuel consumption models developed in Korea and another three models widely used in North America, and compared their applicabilities. Specifically, the national institute of environmental research (NIER) drive modes and the VISSIM software were utilized to model various driving patterns, and their fuel consumptions were estimated using the fuel consumption models. Based on the results, all the models showed the similar results in the analysis of the most fuel efficient cruising speed. On the other hand, caution should be taken when using the KR-1 and KR-2 models in microscopic analyses because they are not sensitive to instantaneous power requirements of vehicles.
