대학에서 실행되고 있는 정보활용능력 교육에 따른 학습자의 정보활용능력에 대한 자가인식의 변화는 학습자의 특성에 따라 차이가 나타날 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 정보활용능력 교육의 효과에 영향에 미치는 학습자의 영향 요인을 조사 분석하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 위해, D 대학의 한 학기 교양과목으로 개설되고 있는 정보활용능력 교육 프로그램을 대상으로 해당과목 수강생 47명의 정보활용능력에 대한 자가 인식을 교육전과 교육후의 질문지법을 통해 그 변화를 조사 분석하고 이들 학습자의 개인적인 특성을 파악하였다. 학습자의 특성에는 인구통계학적인 특성 이외에 유사 교육 프로그램 경험 유무, 도서관에 대한 인식 등이 조사되었다. 정보활용능력에 대한 자가 인식을 측정하기 위한 문항들은 ACRL의 고등 교육자를 위한 정보활용능력 평가기준을 참조하였고 사용된 분석도구는 Excel과 SPSS 17.0이다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference of economic condition of students, that is, the difference of basic information utilization ability stemming from education gap. First, we investigated information literacy for high school freshmen who can control the difference of information utilization education experience by school. In doing the research, 629 high school students in the metropolitan city were surveyed using web. we analyzed the educational gap between schools depending on their economic conditions and analyzed the correlation between education gap and basic information utilization ability. As a result, it was found that there is a very significant negative correlation between the ratio of students who get support for school expenses and basic information utilization ability. Second, regression equation was produced through regression analysis of information literacy regression to analyze the effect of educational gap on basic information literacy. In addition, it seeks to consider alternatives that can improve the inequality of information literacy which is derived from education gap.

Information literacy(IL) is the essential skill in the knowledge information society in the 21st century. Spreading the awareness of importance of IL across the world, the efforts to develop and implement IL standards or instructions are expanded around United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. In this study, Author extracts the core elements of IL from domestic and foreign IL standards and integrates those with Kuhlthau's Information Search Process(ISP) Model in order to develop the curriculum model of IL for undergraduates. The curriculum model has been constructed by consideration of capability of application to practice and expressed as the syllabus for the structure of university education. In the curriculum model, major instructional contents are extracted from 6 core elements of IL and the contents are organized by 6 ISP stages. Author suggests some successive studies based on the curriculum model for expansion and advancement of IL instruction.

This research has been done to evaluate a curricular model for the information literacy course and verify its effectiveness in a regular class. The pretest and the post-test which comprised the same 47 questions were executed to 135 students in an information literacy-related course. On the basis of the results, some general conclusions and suggestions for improving the quality of information literacy course were made.

An aim of this study is to analyze status of information literacy and propose some ways strengthening its role as a cross-curriculum. Analyses show that information literacy is a basic competency of creative person composing the educational human figure under the national curriculum in Korea. In the school knowledge, its position is a procedural knowledge to create new ideas, also it is a interdisciplinary thinking skill under the instructional method. Therefore, information literacy instruction covering media and ICT literacy should exist as a main cross-curriculum to be a selective subject in the national curriculum. And finally, one of learning skills, its definition should be cleary stated such as information research and access, information analyses and interpretation, information synthesize and presentation.

The major aim of this study is to discuss the possibility whether the merging of Information Literacy and rhetoric will be able to have essential elements for being a general education subject in universities. The characteristic of rhetorical information literacy (RIL) is organized as follows. Situated literacy using heuristic method, process oriented literacy attaching importance to research, and literacy relevant to ubiquitous environment. So, it is argued that rhetorical information literate citizenry is essential for a modern democratic society. As the information literacy instruction program can be various, for example, technology oriented instruction is needed to be compared. For the practical execution of the RILI program, 'asking situated questions to discover problem', 'selecting and writing review of meta study books', and 'writing visiting report of library', and 'instruction of information ethics for democratic citizens' have been proposed.

This study investigated whether information literacy education contributes to change and improvement in university students' self awareness of information literacy and libraries. The pre-test and the post-test which comprised the same questions on information literacy and libraries were executed on 47 students in an information literacy-related regular course at D University. The information literacy-related questions in the questionnaire were based on ACRL Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education. The collected data were analyzed using Excel and SPSS.

To measure the state of instructional programs in school libraries revitalized by the MEST project, teacher-librarians who are members of a provincial library education research committee were asked to respond to a survey and phone interview. The results illustrate that both teacher-librarians and classroom teachers lack a comprehensive understanding of information literacy(IL), and that information literacy instruction(ILI) was implemented in less than half of the surveyed schools. Even in those schools where ILI was implemented, the curriculum was underdeveloped, frequently consisting of little more than basic library orientation programs. The lack of understanding regarding ILI by classroom teachers was specified as a major barrier.

The purpose of this study is to reveal how undergraduate students' computer literacy and library knowledge can affect their frequency of library material use and information literacy, and analyze the correlations between frequency of library material use and information literacy. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to students of 7 universities in 8 credit-given user education courses, and correlations with variables were analyzed through hypothesis testing. It was suggested that with strong support of university administration, user education should be taught by using more of scholarly library material.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of education for information literacy by measuring information literacy of selected experimental group and controlled group from university students. Information literacy of each group was measured through structured questionnaires before and after taking the instruction course. The result showed there was a significant difference between two groups after the instruction. and the effectiveness of information literacy showed especially high in the area of information ethics and information analysis. It was also revealed that the education for information literacy is not affected by basic environmental factors at all. Also. students taken the course showed strong self-confidence and positive recognition in information literacy and library use, thus proved that education of information literacy is highly effective both in cognitive and attitudinal side for university students as a liberal arts course.
