The accurate measurement of center position and orientation of SMD VR by using machine vision (머신비젼을 이용한 SMD VR의 중심위치와 홈방향 정밀계측)

  • The automation of final inspection and tuning process in the manufacturing of electric products is hot issue now, because it is the only part that has not been wholey automized yet, mainly due to the difficulties to handle so small size of VR which is the final tuning point in the most of electric products. For the automation of this process, at first the accurate measurement of position and orientation of SMD VR on PCB in real time is strongly needed. In this paper, a new image processing algorithm to detect the center position and orientation of target VR by using machine vision is proposed for automatic final tuning of the 8mm camcoder's performance. In the method, the outline feature of object is used actively. The usefulness of the proposed methods were tested by several experiments, and the results showed enough accuracy for both of position and orientation. Additatively, we discussed about the total visual system construction and preprocessing of image.

Robotic Assembly Using Configuration and Force/Torque Information of Tactile Sensor System (접촉센서의 형상과 힘/토크 정보를 이용한 로봇조립)

  • A robot assembly method which uses configuration and force/torque information of tactile sensor system and performs chamferless peg-in-hole tasks is suggested and experimentally studied. When the robot gripes the peg with random orientation, the realignment of the peg to the hole center line is successfully performed with the gripping configuration information of the tactile sensor and the inverse kinematics of the robot. The force/torque information of the tactile sensor makes it possible to control the contacting force between mating parts during hole search stage. The suggested algorithm employs a hybrid position/force control and the experiments show that the algorithm accomplishes well peg-in-hole tasks with permissible small contacting force. The chamferless peg-in-hole tasks with smaller clearance than the robot repeatibility can be excuted without any loss or deformation of mating parts. This study the possibility of precise and chamferless parts mating by robot and tactile sensor system.

맥동관 냉동기 크라이오펌프 기술 개발 연구 및 상용화

  • 최근 선진국의 산업구조는 반도체, 디스플레이, IT 제품 등 고부가가치 산업으로 재편되고 있으며, 이에 따라 핵심 공정장비인 고진공펌프의 수요가 급격히 증대하고 있다. 고용량/대면적/초정밀 제품을 지향하는 개발추세에 따라 핵심 공정 장비로서 크라이오펌프의 활용도가 크게 증가하며 LCD 분야 등과 같이 수소 분자와 물 분자 등의 배기가 중요한 응용분야에 크라이오펌프의 수요가 대부분을 차지하고 있다. 또한 도래하는 한미FTA 체결에 따라 반도체, IT, 디스플레이 제조 장비용 고진공펌프의 수입이 급증할 것으로 예상되어 국내 진공업체에서도 크라이오 펌프의 개발이 진행되고 있다. 국내에서는 크라이오펌프 뿐만 아니라 핵심부품인 극저온 냉동기에 대한 기반 기술이 낙후되어 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 지식경제부 지원 사업인 제조기반산업원천기술개발사업에 참여기관으로 수행하여 한국기계연구원과 급속 재생형 저진동 크라이오펌프의 기술 개발을 통해 전량 수입하는 고진공 펌프인 크라이오펌프를 국산화를 도모하고자 한다. 또한, 맥동관 냉동기는 기계적 구동부가 없어 구조가 간단하여 운전이나 보수가 용이하고, 장시간 운전에 신뢰성이 높으며 제조비용이 저렴하다. 이에 (유)우성진공에서는 연구 개발을 통해 상용화 단계에 있는 맥동관 냉동기 크라이오펌프를 소개하고자 한다.

  • 본 연구는 발포수지 공정에 사용되는 가스벤트를 신발중창 금형에 자동으로 교환하는 장치에 관한 것이다. 가스벤트는 폴리우레탄과 같은 소재를 이용한 신발 미드솔 발포시 발생되는 가스를 제거하기 위한 다공질 소자로서 신발금형 상부에 삽입된다. 가스벤트는 소모성 부품으로 일정주기마다 교환이 필요하나 작업공정상 수작업에 어려움이 많아 자동화된 교환시스템이 요구된다. 하지만 삽입되는 신발중창 금형과 가스벤트간은 유격이 거의 없으므로 본 연구에서는 신발 중창 금형의 손상을 방지하고 보다 신속한 교환을 위해 가스벤트 삽입 및 추출 홈의 위치정보를 영상을 통해서 구하고, 얻어진 영상에 대한 위치 데이터를 기계적 위치 추적 시스템의 데이터로 피드백 하여 홀의 중심 위치에서 가스벤트를 삽입 및 추출하여 자동으로 교환하는 장치를 구현하였다. 영상 처리는 패턴 매칭 기법을 이용하여 홀의 중심점을 구하였고, 이를 PLC로 전송하여 기계 작동 제어 및 XY플로터를 정밀 제어하여 공정이 진행되게 하였다.

  • The mechanical limited slip differential (LSD) in vehicles is being replaced by the electromagnetic LSD because of its fast response and better active control characteristics. The coil housing made of STS 304 is one of the most important parts in the solenoid assembly of the electromagnetic LSD. High geometrical accuracy is a prerequisite for the manufacture of such coil housings, but precision machining is difficult because of the use of STS 304 thin plate and the variance in machining variables. The aim of this study is to optimize the mean and variance of the shape accuracy in the coil housing by finding a robust solution for the machining process conditions. The mean and standard deviation of the jaw contact pressure, cutting speed, and feed rate are considered to be the major parameters for minimizing the geometrical mean and variance. The response surface model based on the second-order Taylor series is combined together to minimize the mean and variance of the shape accuracy of the coil housing.

  • Because satellites operate in space, it is impossible to repair them when they malfunction. Therefore, to ensure the normal function of the payload used in the satellites, accurate assembly and installation of parts are crucial. To prevent abnormal functioning in the extreme environments during launch and in space, it is essential to test changes at the parts and system levels by performing alignment measurement before and after the launch environment test and the space environment test. Recently, noncontact three-dimensional precision machinery for medium- and large-sized parts has been developed. One of these is the theodolite measurement system, which is widely used in the aerospace industry. This study measures the angle of the dual thruster module that is used to control the attitude of KOMPSAT by using a theodolite, and alignment measurement and a reliability analysis are performed.

  • The precision hydraulic valve is widely used in various industrial field like aircraft, automobile, and general machinery. Servo actuator is the most important device for driving the precise hydraulic valve. The reliable operation of servo actuator effects on the overall hydraulic system. The performance of servo actuator relies on frequency response and step response according to arbitrary input signal. In this paper, we performed the analysis for the components of servo actuator to satisfy the reliable operation and response characteristics through the reliability analysis, and also induced the design parameters to realize the reliable operation and fast response characteristics of servo actuator for hydraulic valve operation through the empirical knowledge of experts and electromagnetic theories. We suggested the design equations to determine the values of design parameters of servo actuator as like bobbin size, length of yoke and plunger and turn number of coil, and verified the achieved design values through FEM analysis and performance tests using some prototypes of servo actuators adapted in hydraulic valve.

  • The process of microelectromechanical system (MEMS) fabrication involves surface treatment to impart functionality to the device. Such surface treatment method is the self-assembled monolayer (SAM) technique, which modifies and functionalizes the surface of MEMS components with organic molecule monolayer, possessing a precisely controllable strength that depends on immersion time and solution concentration. These monolayers spontaneously adsorb on polymeric substrates or metal/ceramic components offering high precision at the nanoscale and modifying surface properties. SAM technology has been utilized in various fields, such as tribological property control, mass-production lithography, and ultrasensitive organic/biomolecular sensor applications. This paper provides an overview of the development and application of SAM technology in various fields.

  • Recently, terrestrial photogrammetry has been applied effectively to data acquisition in GIS and to monitoring precise machinery for simulation test. Because 3-D coordinates of many object points can be quickly measured with constant accuracy and easy modeling by this method. In this study, the composition concerned with multi-camera system which simultaneously analyzes structure from multi-station using various cameras was developed. The errors of results were analyzed to investigate the accuracy of the system, error of unknown points and control points, convergent and strip adjustment for optimal network design also. As results of this study, the efficiency of multi-camera system developed here was proved through application to monitoring the entire area of the precise model ship. We could also acquire 3-dimensional coordinates with good accuracy by arranging pass points. Therefore, possibility of measurement of instantaneous deformation as well as precision analysis of structures can be suggested.
