A Prediction of the Behavior in Normally Consolidated Clay with Application of Isotropic Single Hardening Constitutive Model (등방단일경화구성모델에 의한 정규압밀점토의 거동 예측)

  • The results of a series of triaxial compression tests on remolded normally consolidated clay are compared with the predictions .by the isotropic single -hardening constitutive model, which incorporates eleven parameters. The parameters can be determined from undrained triaxial compression tests on isotropically consolidated specimens of remolded clay. The model with the determined parameters is applied to predict the stress-strain and pore pressure behaviors for untrained triaxial compresion tests on anisotropically consolidated specimens. Also the model is utilized to predict the stress strain and voltmetric strain behavior for drained triaxial compression tests on both isotropic and anisotropic specimens. The predicted response agrees well with the measured behavior for undrained triaxial compression tests on not only isotropically but also anisotroically but also anisotropically consolidated specimens. The initial volumetric strain is, however, predicted to be less than the measured value from drained triaxial compression tests, while the predicted volumetric strain close to failure is greater than the measured value. Nevertheless, it may be stated generally that overall acceptable predictions are produced. Therefore, the results of this study indicate that the applicability of the model on prediction of the behavior of normally consolidated clay is achieved sufficiently.

Quantization Method for Normalization of JPEG Pleno Hologram (JPEG Pleno 홀로그램 데이터의 정규화를 위한 양자화)

  • In this paper, we analyze the normalization that occurs when processing digital hologram and propose an optimized quantization method. In JPEG Pleno, which standardizes the compression of holograms, full complex holograms are defined as complex numbers with 32-bit or 64-bit precision, and the range of values varies greatly depending on the method of hologram generation and object type. Such data with high precision and wide dynamic range are converted to fixed-point or integer numbers with lower precision for signal processing and compression. In addition, in order to reconstruct the hologram to the SLM (spatial light modulator), it is approximated with a precision of a value that can be expressed by the pixels of the SLM. This process can be refereed as a normalization process using quantization. In this paper, we introduce a method for normalizing high precision and wide range hologram using quantization technique and propose an optimized method.

Sensitivity Analysis of Ordinary Kriging Interpolation According to Different Variogram Models (베리오그램 모델 변화에 따른 정규 크리깅 보간법의 민감도분석)

  • This paper comprises two specific objectives. The first is to examine the applicability of Ordinary Kriging interpolation(OK) to finite element method that is based on variogram modeling in conjunction with different allowable limits of separation distance. The second is to investigate the accuracy according to theoretical variograms such as polynomial, Gauss, and spherical models. For this purpose, the weighted least square method is applied to obtain the estimated new stress field from the stress data at the Gauss points. The weight factor is determined by experimental and theoretical variograms for interpolation of stress data apart from the conventional interpolation methods that use an equal weight factor. The validity of the proposed approach has been tested by analyzing two numerical examples. It is noted that the numerical results by Gauss model using 25% allowable limit of separation distance show an excellent agreement with theoretical solutions in literature.

  • The efforts of reflecting the system's uncertainties in design step have been made and robust optimization or reliabilitybased design optimization are examples of the most famous methodologies. The statistical moments of a performance function and the constraints corresponding to probability conditions are involved in the formulation of these methodologies. Therefore, it is essential to effectively and accurately calculate them. The sensitivities of these methodologies have to be determined when nonlinear programming is utilized during the optimization process. The sensitivity of statistical moments and probability constraints is expressed in the integral form and limited to the normal random variable; we aim to expand the sensitivity formulation to nonnormal variables. Additional functional calculation will not be required when statistical moments and failure or satisfaction probabilities are already obtained at a design point. On the other hand, the accuracy of the sensitivity results could be worse than that of the moments because the target function is expressed as a product of the performance function and the explicit functions derived from probability density functions.

A Method to Compare Images for Managing Tools to Repair Ships (선박 수리장비 관리를 위한 이미지 비교기법)

  • The existing ship repair tool management system based on hand writing has many problems such as frequent loss of tool and overdue. To solve this problem, same systems have adopted the bar-code system. However, the systems can't cope with a problem to substitute spurious tool for genuine one on bar-code damage. Therefore, additional validation steps are necessary in order to manage expensive ship repair tool. In this paper, we propose an image comparison method for ship repair tool management. To be more concrete, we propose a normalization method and determination conditions for image comparison to use characteristics of mobile device. The normalization method makes use of the characteristics of mobile device that provides functions of real time recording, overlapping and cropping images. The proposed method applies three conditions(sum of inner angles, size of angle, position of corner coordinates) into the comparison module. The implemented system shows good performance on change direction, lighting, size and etc. The accuracy is more than 95%.

A Study on the Policy Demand for Population Inflow in Population Reduction Areas (인구감소지역의 인구유입을 위한 정책 수요에 관한 연구)

  • This study empirically analyzes the policy demand for population inflow in Hongcheon-gun, a region that has experienced population decline over the past decade. The results of this study based on the multinominal logit model provide the policy implications as follows. First, due to the differing factors influencing the demand for population inflow policies among the young and the elderly, local governments should clearly define the policy targets for population inflow. Second, in the context of policy demand for population inflow through corporate attraction, we identify statistically significant and positive effects of the length of residence for both young and old people, and the level of formal education for the elderly. These results emphasize the importance of formulating population inflow policies distinctively targeted for the young and the elderly generations, respectively, thereby increasing population inflow in the population reduction area.

  • 최근들어 하천내 식생이 차지하는 비율이 크게 증가하고 있으며, 이러한 현상은 하천의 규모나 위치, 댐 유무에 관계없이 전국적으로 발생하고 있다. 식생 면적 비율의 증가는 하천의 육역화로 이어질 뿐만아니라 홍수위를 상승시켜 홍수 안전에 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 2020년 8월 섬진강에서 발생한 홍수를 대상으로 식생이 홍수위에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 섬진강에는 초본류 뿐만아니라 버드나무류의 목본류가 상당히 분포하고 있으며 이와 같은 식생이 홍수흐름에 큰 영향을 미친 것으로 보인다. 분석을 위해 홍수 이후 섬진강 현지 답사를 통해 식생분포 현황 및 홍수로 인한 영향을 조사하였다. 섬진강의 식생분포 조사를 위해서는 2020년 4월 조사된 유럽 우주국 Sentinel-2 위성영상을 사용하였으며, 정규식생지수(NDVI)와 정규수분지수(NDWI)를 이용하여 하천내 식생밀도를 단계별로 구분하였다. 군집된 식생지수에 따라 USGS의 매닝계수 산정표를 기본으로 식생분포 군집별 조도계수를 산정하여 대상 구간내에 2차원으로 분포시켰다. 수치모형은 NAYS2D 모형을 사용하였으며 대상구간은 섬진강 고달교에서 구례교까지 21.5km이다. 계산조건은 2020년 8월 홍수중 구례교 수위관측소를 기준으로 최대수위가 발생한 시점의 자료를 활용하였다. 고달교에서는 홍수통제소에서 제공하는 홍수량을 상류경계 조건으로 입력하였고 구례교에서는 해당 시각의 수위를 하류경계조건으로 입력하였다. 모형의 검증을 위해 대상구간의 중간에 있는 압록수위관측소 수위를 활용하였다. 식생 유무에 따른 홍수위변화는 조도계수 값에 의해 반영되도록 하였는데 식생이 있는 경우는 현재 상태, 식생이 없는 경우는 모든 지점에 모래와 자갈이 분포하는 것으로 가정하여 계산된 홍수위를 비교하였다. 분석 결과 대상구간에는 전체 면적중 약 56%를 식생이 차지하고 있으며 이로 인해 0.5~1.0m의 홍수위 상승이 발생하는 것으로 분석되었다. 수목으로 인해 2020년 8월과 같은 큰 홍수시에도 홍수위가 크게 상승하는 것으로 분석되었는데 이와 같은 점을 고려하면 하천내 식생이 홍수위에 미치는 영향을 감안하여 적극적인 식생관리 방안이 시행될 필요가 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 수문모형은 많은 물리적, 식생적, 기후적, 인위적 요소들의 결과로 기인하는 수문학적 특성을 나타내는 유역의 복잡한 시스템을 현실적으로 표현하는 도구로써 인식되어 왔다. 공간적으로 분포된 수문모형들은 1960년대 처음으로 개발되었으며, 수문학과 수자원관리 분야에서 원격탐사데이터와 지리정보시스템의 그 역할은 급속도록 증가하였다. 비록 원격탐사자료가 수문학분야에 실제 적용된 경우는 매우 적지만, 그 효용성은 크다고 할 수 있다. 수문 모델링과 모니터링분야에서 원격탐사 자료를 이용함에 있어 가장 큰 장점 중의 하나는 시공간적인 정보를 지속적으로 생산할 수 있게 되었다는 점이다. 이와 같은 능력은 성공적인 모형의 분석과 예측, 검증을 위한 작업에 필수적이다. 본 연구는 준 분포형 수문학적 모형인 SLURP 모형을 경안천 유역을 대상으로 적용하였으며, MODIS 위성영상을 이용하여 제작한 엽면적지수(LAI), 정규식생지수(NDVI)를 수문모형의 입력자료로 활용하여 경안 수위표 지점에서 일 유출량 모의를 실시하였다. 또한, 각각의 원격탐사 자료가 모의된 증발산량의 민감도에 어떤 영향을 미치는 가를 분석하였다.

A Measure for Travel Time Reliability (통행시간 신뢰성 지표 개발 및 산정에 관한 연구)

  • The term, travel-time reliability, refers to variations in journey time that travelers cannot predict. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a standard way to measure travel time reliability. A modified buffer time indicator is proposed. The index is represented by the difference between planned and actual travel times based on lognormal type travel time distribution. Using this framework, a constant function for railways and a negative parabola function for roads are discussed. The model developed is applied to the real data of Korean road and rail usages to empirically verify the methodology proposed. In this process, the unit value of travel time reliability for each group is estimated. The result of this research is expected to be helpful of conducting more cautious economic feasibility studies of transport.

Feeature extraction for recognition rate improvemen of hand written numerals (필기체 숫자 인식률 향상을 위한 특징추출)

  • Hand written numeral is projected on the 3D space after pre-processing of inputs and it makes a index by tracking of numerals. It computes the distance between extracted every features. It is used by input part of recognition process from the statistical historgram of the normalization of data in order to adaptation from variation. One hundred unmeral patterns have used for making a standard feature map and 100 pattern for the recogintion experiment. The result of it, we have the recoginition rete is 93.5% based on thresholding is 0.20 and 97.5% based on 0.25.
