Study on the Single-Point Statistical Analysis Techniques to Generate the Composite Material Allowables (복합재 허용치 생성을 위한 점추정 통계분석기법에 관한 연구)

  • 원재료 성분, 프리프레그 제작공정, 재료 취급, 부품 제작 기술, 적층순서, 환경조건, 그리고 시험방법 등 여러 요인으로 인해 복합재 물성치는 일반적으로 금속재에 비해 변동성이 높다. 따라서, 이러한 높은 변동성을 고려하기 위해서는 엄격한 통계분석기법을 적용하여 복합재의 기계적 물성에 대한 설계 허용치를 계산해야 한다. 1990년대 후반 미국에서는 FAA와 NASA를 중심으로 표준화된 절차에 따라 항공기 설계에 적용가능한 복합재 물성 데이터베이스를 구축하고 공유하기 위한 프로세스를 개발하기 시작하였고, 현재 NCAMP를 중심으로 복합재 데이터베이스 구축 작업이 진행되고 있다. NCAMP는 기본적으로 CMH-17에서 채택한 통계분석기법을 이용하여 허용치를 계산하고 있으며, 본 논문에서는 복합재 허용치 계산 기법 중 점추정 방법을 이용한 통계분석 기법과 그 적용에 대해 논하고자 한다.

  • 우리나라 연간 총수자원 1240억$m^3$ 가운데 42%에 해당하는 517억$m^3$는 증발산을 통해서 하늘로 올라가고 나머지 58%인 723억$m^3$는 하천으로 흘러간다(국토해양부, 2008). 이와 같이 증발산량은 지구 표면에서 대기로의 수증기 이동 현상으로 강수와 더불어 대기의 물 순환 및 수분 이동의 파악에 매우 중요한 지표로 사용되고 있다. 현재 기상청에서는 세계기상기구의 관측 기준에 따라 증발산량을 측정하고, 점추정 자료를 내삽법을 이용하여 유역면적 전체에 적용시키고 있다. 그러나 자연상태에서 증발산에 영향을 주는 요인이 매우 다양하기 때문에 점추정 자료를 통해 유역면적 전체에 대한 증발산량을 추정하는 방법은 많은 오차를 가져올 수 있다(유진웅, 2003). 이를 극복하기 위한 방법으로 RS 기법에 의한 증발산량 추정 방법과 함께 위성으로부터 획득할 수 있는 지표 및 대기 정보를 이용하여 광범위한 지역 내에서 공간적으로 불균일한 수분 분포를 추정하기 위하여 많은 알고리즘이 제안되었다. 본 연구에서는 위성영상을 이용하여 증발산량을 추정하는 모형가운데 SEBAL(Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land) Model을 상용소프트웨어에서 구현하고 충청북도에 위치한 미호천 유역에 대해 모형을 적용하여 증발산량을 추정하였다. 위성자료로는 2006년 9월 22일의 Landsat 5 TM 영상을 사용하였으며, DEM은 USGS DEM, 기상자료로는 청주시 기상연보를 활용하였다.

Evaluation of Travel Time Reliability using Daily Traffic Volumes (일교통량을 이용한 통행시간 신뢰도 평가)

  • This paper is to introduce methodologies of travel time reliability evaluation using daily traffic volumes. The methodologies include desirable speed concept, the relation between averaged daily speeds and daily traffic volumes, the standardized way in integration of travel time deviations obtained from continuous highway sections. The study began with traffic data collection from a freeway line with long lasting congestion. And then, provided establishment of the relation between averaged daily speeds and daily traffic volumes, and usability of Point estimate method (PEM) to integrate travel time deviations of sections. Based on the relation between averaged daily speeds and daily traffic volumes, it is identified that travel time reliability begins to decrease around LOS (Level of Service) C even before LOS D or F. It may be concluded that travel time reliability could be evaluated based on daily traffic volumes in highway sections using standardized PEM. The methodologies introduced in the paper, could be useful in practicing evaluation of travel time reliability during the works of highway operation or highway planning.

Approximate Reliability Analysis Model for R.C. Bridge Superstructures based on Systems Reliability Methods (체계신뢰성(體系信賴性) 방법(方法)에 기초(基礎)한 R.C. 도로교(道路橋) 상부구조(上部構造)의 근사적(近似的) 신뢰성해석(信賴性解析) 모형(模型))

  • This study is intended to propose a system reliability analysis model for R.C. bridge superstructures based on the systems reliability theory. Approximately assuming that the ultimate capacity of the superstructures is reached, when two adjacent girders fail subsequently, a practical system reliability model is proposed, which is based on a point estimate for Level II parallel-series system modelling. The sensitivity analysis of system reliabilities for the variation of the coefficients of correlations between the failure modes is performed by applying the proposed model for R.C. T beam bridges. It is observed that the point estimate method for the proposed model corresponds to the average value of the Ditlevsen's bound, and the system reliability index, ${\beta}_s$, varies quite sensitively according to the variation of the cofficients of correlations. Systems reliabilities of a few existing T beam bridges are analyzed by applying the proposed practical system reliability method of this study, and, in addition, the preferable direction of the development of the reliability-based code calibration using the system target reliability index concept are suggested.

  • This article basically considers the calibration problem with censored data from the Bayesian point of view. The Gibbs sampling method is discussed to solve the difficulty encountered in computing the posterior distribution. Also presented is an approach for impementing the Gibbs sampling in actual data situation with the estimation procedures.

  • This paper presents a new test technique for evaluating performance of vehicle detectors with interval estimation, not the conventional point estimation, for presenting statistical confidence interval. The methodology is categorized into three parts; sampling plan, analysis on the characteristic of evaluation indices, and the expression of evaluation results. Even though many statistical sampling plans exist, stratified random sampling is regarded as the most appropriate one, considering the detector performance characteristics that varies with traffic, illumination, and meteorological conditions. No magic bullet exists for evaluation index for detector evaluation, hence the characteristics of evaluation indices were thoroughly analyzed and a reasonable process for choosing the best evaluation index is proposed. Finally, the methodology to express the result of detector evaluation for the entire evaluation period and individual analysis interval is represented, respectively. To overcome the existing drawbacks in point estimation, interval estimation by which statistical confidence interval can be represented is introduced for enhancing statistical reliability of traffic detector evaluation. This research can make vehicle detector scheme improve one step forward.
