볼 엔드밀의 경사면 가공에서 공구경로와 절삭속도에 따른 공구수명의 특성 (Characteristics of Tool Life according to the Cutting Direction and Cutting Speed in Machining on Inclined Plane using Ball End Mill)

  • This paper deals with the establishment of the cutting direction on inclined plane by using ball end mill. Ball-end milling is widely used for free form surface die and mold. In these machining, the cutting parts vary because the tool tip is hemisphere shaped. The cutting characteristics, such as cutting force, surface roughness and surface profile are varied according to the variation of cutting directions. The effective tool diameter was calculated on different tilt angles and tool-path. Tool life and cutting characteristics were estimated on variation of cutting directions in the same cutting speed. In this paper, the optimal cutting direction which can be applied 3-D sculpture surface cutting is suggested.

SCM415강의 원형포켓 가공시 직각도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Squareness of Circular Pocket Machining of SCM415 Steel)

  • In this research, we try to study the change of squareness in the cutting process while changing cutting conditions such as feed rate and spindle rotational speed with chromium molybdenum steel (SCM415) material and TiCN, TiAlN coated end mill tool. The TiCN coating tool had the best straightness at 4,000 rpm at a feed rate of 200 mm/min. The TiAlN coating tool was best measured at 3,000 rpm at a feed rate of 200 mm/min. TiAlN coated tools had excellent dimensional tolerance when comparing the coating tool specifics.

  • In this study, we study the change of surface roughness during cutting machining by changing the cutting conditions such as feed rate and spindle velocity with chromium molybdenum steel (SCM415) material and TiCN and TiAlN coated end mill tools. The surface roughness value of the test specimen for SCM415, was found to be 3,000 rpm in TiCN coated end mill and $0.634{\mu}m$ in surface roughness at a feed rate of 100 mm/min. In the TiAlN coated end mill, 300 mm/min, the surface roughness was the best at $0.699{\mu}m$. The overall average surface roughness of each coating tool was better than that of TiAlN.

  • 기술과 과학이 끊임없이 발달되고 있는 가운데 생산기술과 생산공업도 비약적으로 발달되고 있다. 공작기계에 대한 요구사항은 일반적으로 고정도화, 고속도화 그리고 고능률화 나아가서는 자동화이다. 다시 말해서 더욱 좋은 품질(고정도화)과 저렴한 가격(고능률화)의 제품을 빨리 사용자에게 공급(고속화)할 수 있고, 다양한 제품을 만들 수 있는 공작기계가 요구되는 것이다. 고능률화 또는 고속화를 위해서는 고속절삭가공을 실현해야하며 그러기 위해서는 Spindle(주축)의 회전수를 높이고 각 축의 이송 속도가 빨라야 되며 절삭 이송을 고속화하여야 한다. 그리고, 머시닝센터에서는 공구를 자동으로 교환하는(ATC)을 신속히 해야 한다. 이와 같은 고속 공작기계에 대한 요구는 점점 많아지고 있으며 공작기계전시회가 열릴때마다 고속도화는 점점 진전되고 있다. 최근에는 주축의 회전수가 10,000$min^{-1}$은 보통이고 최고 40,000$min^{-1}$이상에 도달하고 있다.

탄소공구량에 대한 세라믹공구의 초기파손 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Early Fracture Characteristics of Ceramic Tool for Carbon Tool Steel)

  • Early fracture and cutting force of ceramic tool for hardened STC3 steel was investigated in this study. It was found that early fracture of ceramic tool was mostly occurred before normal wear was progressed beyond a critical cutting speed and normal wear was performed under the critical cutting speed. The relationships among critical cutting speed, which was a cause of early fracture, suggested cutting cross section, that is, maximum thickness of cut and width of cut, and cutting force were examined. The following conclusions were obtained: (1)Critical cutting speed showed a high value in the case of small maximum thickness of cut and large nose radius, but was not influenced by width of cut, (2)Principal, feed and radial force, respectively, showed the proportional value to constant cutting area, width of cut and maximum thickness of cut orderly, (3)Occurrence of early fracture was dependent upon radial force.

  • There and two important variables in machining process control, which are feed and cutting speed. It is possible to improve the machining accuracy and the productivity by maintaining the optimal feed and cutting speed. In this work, a controller is designed to achieve on-line cutting force control based on the modeling of cutting process dynamics established through step response test. Two schemes are proposed and implemented. The first is feed control under the constant spindle speed and the second is spindle speed control under the constant feed. Finally, both are proved to work properly through simulation and experimentation.

  • 컴퓨터 지원 설계 및 제조 기법(CAD-CAM)은 치과 영역에서 급속도로 발전해온 분야로, 다양한 보철 치료 영역에 적용되고 있다. 이 중 절삭형 방식(Subtractive Manufacturing)으로 분류되는 절삭가공 기법을 이용한 의치 제작은 상용화된 디지털 총의치 제작 방식 중 하나이며, 동시에 첨가형 방식(Additive Manufacturing)으로 분류되는 레이저 소결 혹은 용융 기법을 활용하여 피개의치를 위한 금속구조물을 보다 효율적으로 제작할 수 있게 되었다. 본 증례에서는, CAD-CAM을 통해 절삭형 방식으로 제작한 상악 총의치와 3D 금속 프린팅을 이용한 금속구조물과 절삭형 방식으로 제작된 인공치를 접목한 하악 임플란트 피개의치를 제작하였다. 이를 통해 기능적, 심미적으로 적절한 임상적 결과를 얻었으므로 이를 보고하는 바이다.

  • Al2017 is typical Duralumin of self-hardening aluminum alloy. It is lightweight, formability and machinability so throughout the industries have widely used automobile, electronics, semiconductor and aircraft as material. A variety of CNC machine tool processing technology, scientific principles and experience have been studied in order to increase accuracy and productivity. Using a machining center is to constant amount of side step and cutting characteristics studied changing depth of cut, revolution per minute and feed rate.

  • Studies on the optimization of machining process can be divided into two different approaches: off-line feedrate scheduling and adaptive control. Each approach possesses its respective strong and weak points compared to each other. That is, each system can be complementary to the other. In this regard, a combined system, which is a feedrate control system for cutting force optimization, was proposed in this paper to make the best of each approach. Experimental results show that the proposed system could overcome the weak points of two systems.

  • 가장 오래된 금속성형법 중의 하나인 열간 단조는 재결정온도-고상선(강재의 경우, 일반적으로는 1,200-l,28$0^{\circ}C$)의 온도로 재료를 가열하여 간단한 형상의 소재로부터 하나 또는 둘 이상의 공정을 통하여 최종제품을 생산해내는 소성가공법이며, 이것은 절삭 가공에 비하여 재료의 손실이 적으며, 생산속도가 빠르고 또한 단류선(flow line)의 방향으로 인장강도, 충격강도 등의 기계적 강도가 커야 할 필요가 있는 제품의 대량 생산에 적합한 가공법이다.
