Energy Efficient M2M Communication for Bidirectional AMR Systems (양방향 원격검침 시스템을 위한 저전력 M2M 데이터 송수신 기법)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존 원격 검침 시스템의 불필요한 전류 소모를 줄이고 실시간 유지보수를 실현하기 위한 효과적인 M2M 데이터 송수신 기법을 제안하였다. 명령에 따른 수행시간을 예측하여 통신이 이루어지지 않는 구간에서 CDMA 연결 해제 및 Sleep 전환을 탄력적으로 수행함으로써 전류소모를 최소화 하였으며, 근 실시간 메시지를 이용한 양방향 M2M 기법을 실현하였다. 실험 결과 기존 시스템에 비해 전류소모가 약 17 배 감소하였고, 근 실시간 명령 요청에 대한 빠른 응답을 통해 기존의 단점을 보완한 제안 기법의 우수성을 입증 하였다.

Wave Propagation Characteristics for Mobile Communications beyond 3G in Microcellular Environments (마이크로셀룰라 환경에서의 차세대 이등 통신을 위한 전파 전파 특성)

  • This paper presents the a measured path-loss characteristics for mobile communications beyond 3G in microcellular residential area and street microcell at 3.4, 5.3, and 6.4 GHz band signals. The residential area is divided into two sections, one of which is composed of fifteen-story appartment buildings. The other section comprises four-story houses. The street microcell is classified line-of-sight(LOS) and nonline-of-sight(NLOS) areas. Both residential areas have standard deviations independent of the residential area classification, whereas the path loss exponents in the apartments is higher than those in area for same frequencies. A two-ray model is applied to analyse the path-loss charateristics in LOS areas. In LOS areas, an empirical breakpoint, whose distance is 6 percent shorter than a theorical breakpoint, is founded. Further, a sudden power level drop occurs at a transition point from LOS region to NLOS area. Path loss exponent is found to be significantly higher for non-LOS region than for LOS region. The power level drop due to corner loss and path-loss exponents both increase as the distance between the transmitter and the corner increases.

  • Among tile traffic safety facilities, median barriers are installed above 4-lane national roads due to the awareness of haying an effect on preventing the front collision. Studies about the installation effect analysis of median harrier have been carried out through both at home and outside, mainly indicating total accident reduction effect on pertinent sections. In sum, study about how the accident occurrence form is changed at the point classified by the accident type or severity is insignificant. In the case of outside the country, calculating the accident reduction effect according to the type of median barriers is main research and in domestic, though there is a part of researches assessing reduction effect by accident types, it is not reliable in the view or statistics because of using only 1year's before-aftev data installing the facility, So in this Paper. it is the main purpose to presume the accident conversion effect. For this, we conduct an investigation and collect data about 7-year's accident data containing before-after Project, safety facilities foundation records and index of road alignment on the subject of 4-1ane national roads(108.6km) existing median barrier. Next. using the empirical bayes method, we estimate a model construction and accident conversion effect of accident type severity. We expect the result or this Paper will be applied for a policy execution and Presentation of facility standard related to median barrier from now on.

Spatial Factors' Analysis of Affecting on Automated Driving Safety Using Spatial Information Analysis Based on Level 4 ODD Elements (Level 4 자율주행서비스 ODD 구성요소 기반 공간정보분석을 통한 자율주행의 안전성에 영향을 미치는 공간적 요인 분석)

  • Since 2021, government departments have been promoting Automated Driving Technology Development and Innovation Project as national research and development(R&D) project. The automated vehicles and service technologies developed as part of these projects are planned to be subsequently provided to the public at the selected Living Lab City. Therefore, it is important to determine a spatial area and operation section that enables safe and stable automated driving, depending on the purpose and characteristics of the target service. In this study, the static Operational Design Domain(ODD) elements for Level 4 automated driving services were reclassified by reviewing previously published papers and related literature surveys and investigating field data. Spatial analysis techniques were used to consider the reclassified ODD elements for level 4 in the real area of level 3 automated driving services because it is important to reflect the spatial factors affecting safety related to real automated driving technologies and services. Consequently, a total of six driving mode changes(disengagement) were derived through spatial information analysis techniques, and the factors affecting the safety of automated driving were crosswalk, traffic light, intersection, bicycle road, pocket lane, caution sign, and median strip. This spatial factor analysis method is expected to be useful for determining special areas for the automated driving service.

  • VMS(Variable Message Sign) which makes the traffic flow smooth by providing traffic information to road users in real-time has been being installed or operated on the road as part of the detailed ITS system. However, some problems were found as a result of survey on express way currently. In the part of the phase operation, the message interpretation time wasn't defined so that the phase operation was difficult. In the part of the information service, not considering characteristic of the VMS section caused the confusion to drivers. In the part of the message exposure, font, alignment, conversion and composition of the information were not consistent and use of superfluous words and inconsistent use of word having the same meaning brought about the problem on information communication This study established the detailed exposure method based on instructions relative to VMS operation. The method established by defining the number of appropriate phase and setting required function of each individual VMS installation location. The method is as follow. the font type is the GULIM, the message conversion method is simple conversion method, the alignment method is centering alignment method and the color is defined according to each situation. In this study, the preference survey was performed to review the validity of the proposed improvement through the common driver. The results were similar with the pre-study except for the font type. This study established the detailed exposure method based on instructions relative to VMS operation. The method established by defining the number of appropriate phase and setting required function of individual VMS installation location. For the evaluation of status and improvement, preference survey of ordinary drivers and statistics analysis was carried.

On-line Prediction Algorithm for Non-stationary VBR Traffic (Non-stationary VBR 트래픽을 위한 동적 데이타 크기 예측 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we develop the model based prediction algorithm for Variable-Bit-Rate(VBR) video traffic with regular Group of Picture(GOP) pattern. We use multiplicative ARIMA process called GOP ARIMA (ARIMA for Group Of Pictures) as a base stochastic model. Kalman Filter based prediction algorithm consists of two process: GOP ARIMA modeling and prediction. In performance study, we produce three video traces (news, drama, sports) and we compare the accuracy of three different prediction schemes: Kalman Filter based prediction, linear prediction, and double exponential smoothing. The proposed prediction algorithm yields superior prediction accuracy than the other two. We also show that confidence interval analysis can effectively detect scene changes of the sample video sequence. The Kalman filter based prediction algorithm proposed in this work makes significant contributions to various aspects of network traffic engineering and resource allocation.

  • A digital video is a very long data that requires large-capacity storage space. As such, prior to watching a long original video, video watchers want to watch a summarized version of the video. In the field of sports, in particular, highlights videos are frequently watched. In short, a highlights video allows a video watcher to determine whether the highlights video is well worth watching. This paper proposes a scheme for creating soccer video highlights using the structural features of captions in terms of time and space. Such structural features are used to extract caption frame intervals and caption keyframes. A highlights video is created through resetting shots for caption keyframes, by means of logical indexing, and through the use of the rule for creating highlights. Finally, highlights videos and video segments can be searched and browsed in a way that allows the video watcher to select his/her desired items from the browser.

  • In order for a Power Assisted Wheelchair (PAW) to maintain a straight driving direction, the same force must be delivered to both wheels. However, a human has different strength between the right and left arms, and cannot control the force uniformly at all times. Therefore, appropriate assist torque shall be generated from unbalanced human torque inputs by detecting the user intention, in order to maintain direction uniformly in straight sections or change direction quickly in curved sections. In this study, a special function is proposed to detect the intention of drivers on the basis of temporal similarity between the input torque signals, and a torque balancing technique based on this function is proposed. In the experiments, the effectiveness of the proposed torque balancing method are verified.

Biomechanical Analysis of Throwing Movement between Skilled and Unskilled High School Students (남자 고등학생 숙련자.비숙련자의 던지기 동작에 대한 운동역학적 비교 분석)

  • This study was conducted to compare biomechanical differences in throwing movement between skilled and unskilled high school students using three-dimensional analysis system with a force platform. The findings indicated that skilled students showed shorter throwing time, faster horizontal speed of (1) the center of mass at heel contact of left foot, (2) the forearm throughout swing phase, (3) the hand after heel contact while unskilled students showed faster horizontal speed of, (1) the center of mass after heel contact and (2) the hand at heel contact of left foot. Skilled students showed greater (1) shoulder angle during throwing, (2) elbow angle after take off of foot, (3) peak vertical ground reaction force during throwing and (4) peak anterior-posterior ground reaction force at heel contact of right foot. While skilled students showed leaning backward of the trunk during throwing, unskilled students showed leaning forward during release phase with leaning backward before release.

  • Toxicity of 3-MCPD that comes from food manufacture and processing is well-known. Recent studies reported that 3-MCPD fatty acid ester which is formed by metabolic material was 10~2000 times as much as 3-MCPD in food. This study made analysis method of 3-MCPD fatty acid esters by recent research and laboratory work, and determined the content of 3-MCPD and 3-MCPD fatty acid esters in sources and meat processing products. 3-MCPD fatty acid esters were analysed by GC/MS, which were hydrolyzed from fatty acid and then transferred 3-MCPD was extracted and reacted with derivative subject. As a result of analysis method validation, LOD was 5.4ppb, LOQ was 9.0ppb.
