The purpose of this study was to estimate the resistance capacity of a traditional wooden house with shear walls made of wood panel. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the load - displacement test was carried out and the resistance moment values of the shear walls were proposed. The shear walls were made by placing studs with a nominal dimension of $38mm{\times}89mm$ at intervals of 600 mm, and attaching 12 mm thick plywood with 8-d size pegs at intervals of 150 mm. The type of traditional building wall was classified and showed the moment resistance ability of each wall type. This value is expressed as a proportional value divided by the moment resisting capacity of the standard size shear walls not divided into the divided small frames. Although some frames have proportional values larger than 1.0 even though they have openings, most of them show values smaller than 1.0. Also, even without the openings, it showed a smaller value than 1, such as 0.84 and 0.67.

In this study, the royal protocols of the Joseon Dynasty, known as uigwes, were reviewed to clarify the materials and structure of Korean traditional walls. For this, the Yeonggeon-and Sanreng-uigwes were thoroughly reviewed, and then the names, materials, and construction methods of the traditional walls were systematically organized. In addition, mix proportions of plastering materials used in the walls were estimated based on the records in the uigwes; these were compared with the ratios specified in the current specifications. As a result of the comprehensive review, it was found that the mix proportions of the plastering materials varied depending on importance of buildings, type of walls, and the raw materials. Based on this, it was concluded that the characteristics of each uigwe should be considered when studying the mix proportion of materials for the traditional walls. It was also found that there were differences between the traditional and modern specifications for the wall constructions. That is, historical records and the specifications currently used were different in terms of constituent materials, construction methods and mix proportions. As a cause of the difference, the disconnection of the traditional methods and the introduction of foreign plastering techniques during the rapid social change in the 20th century were suggested.
Traditional wall is ground coat, twice plater, last plaster by such a process has made a wide variety of used materials and techniques are accordingly diverse. These traditional techniques handed down the traditional walls of the techniques, rather than coming to the lowered cut off at any moment from now when the technique is used, not knowing whether to be used. Repair and restore cultural property maintenance work, it is not only the outward form hiding inside it is a technique to keep the preservation of cultural assets can be called true. When viewed from the side walls of these conventional techniques to reveal changes in the traditional process by looking at the changes in technology with traditional techniques for cause shall be made in stock. This paper is from the late Joseon Japanese occupation of techniques ranging from traditional wall to reveal the change process to its current significance of cultural property repair method to be helped.
In this study, the physicochemical properties of 21 wall fragments and rooftile pieces excavated from Jeseoksa Dump-site were analyzed, and the possibility of heat exposure, such as the fire reported in the literature, was investigated by estimating the firing temperature. From the results, it was estimated that the rooftiles were composed of refined materials, and the walls were composed of materials having different particle sizes depending on the layer. Unlike ordinary rooftiles and walls, they exhibited an uneven surface with traces of bloating phenomenon in the cross section. It was estimated from the blackening of some portions that firing was not performed in a controlled state in a constant firing environment. In addition, the estimated firing temperature showed that the non-overfired rooftiles had endured a firing temperature of 900℃ or less, but the over-fired samples were subjected to a temperature of 1,000℃ or higher and were fired at a temperature higher than the manufacturing temperature at that time. Additionally, the rooftiles probably became defective during firing or molding at the time of production, but the non-overfired rooftiles exhibited an intact shape and showed the possibility of heat exposure due to fire. Therefore, the analytical results of this study confirm that the defective architectural components damaged by the fire, as reported in the literature, were discarded in the Jeseoksa dump-site.
This study is about fire resistance performance of wood framed lightweight wall including a middle lintel as a traditional wall form in Korea. The target wall is non-loadbearing system which constructed with $38{\times}89$ mm ($2"{\times}4"$) wood frame and fireproof gypsum board covering, including a middle lintel made of $150{\times}150$ mm section glue-laminated timber. As a test results, all specimens have showed fire resistant performance over 90 minutes and tests were maintained until flame occuring on Specimen-l, 2, 3 at 91 min, 97 min and 98 min respectively. Fire resistance of the heat side gypsum board was 45 minutes and charring rate of middle lintel was equivalant with that of usual timber. The wood stud inside wall system showed relatively quick combution characteristic when exposed to high temperature with no temperature rising delaying time caused by moisture evaporation because of the dehydration preceded during the early period of fire side gypsum board resist to heat.
Korea's traditional house type, the Hanok, has been the essence of Korean domestic culture for hundreds of years. However, Hanok, have begun to disappear as result of urbanization. Because mud walls are crude and weak in water walls are also easily broken by impact. There are further problems in that construction cost is expensive and takes more time than modern house construction, and that the maintenance of Hanok is more difficult than people sometimes predict. Despite much interest in Hanok construction, there is a lack of in younger generation. Thus seeking new ways of maintaining Korea's traditional housing culture and extending Korean traditional houses is important. This study proposes directions for creating new residential environments for the future generation of Korea. A Dry-wall alternative to the Korean traditional mud wall is particularly needed. Dry-walling, made by sustainable materials such as mud board and wood, can strengthen the advantages and make up for the weaknesses of the Korea traditional mud wall. In this study, both wall types underwent various evaluations in terms of their performance in insulation testing, freezing and thawing testing, impacting testing and weight measuring (the size of material in this experiment was $69cm{\times}105cm$). On all of these tests, findings revealed that the dry-wall alternative performed better than traditional mud wall.
This study employs traditional statistical auto-regressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) and deep learning-based long short-term memory (LSTM) models to predict the deformation of earth retaining walls using inclinometer data from excavation sites. It compares the predictive capabilities of both models. The ARIMA model excels in analyzing linear patterns as time progresses, while the LSTM model is adept at handling complex nonlinear patterns and long-term dependencies in the data. This research includes preprocessing of inclinometer measurement data, performance evaluation across various data lengths and input conditions, and demonstrates that the LSTM model provides statistically significant improvements in prediction accuracy over the ARIMA model. The findings suggest that LSTM models can effectively assess the stability of retaining walls at excavation sites. Additionally, this study is expected to contribute to the development of safety monitoring systems at excavation sites and the advancement of time series prediction models.

Wall of hanok is related to exterior, inner environment, and the period and cost of construction. This study analyzes traditional wall execution method and suggests improved one. The characters of the improved execution method are use of ready made goods, application of dry and prefabricated method and improvement of airtightness and insulation capacity etc. The result of this study needs production of pilot productions and tests of capacity. But this new method will be useful to save the period and cost of hanok construction.
Purpose : This study is to develop walls using wall recording technology applied on roofs to prevent fire spread in traditional markets. Method : The spray head installed on the developed wall was designed so that the fire does not spread to adjacent buildings after being used for plants. In addition, a spray head was attached to the upper section and some sections for the growth of plants planted on the wall to prevent the spread of fire. Results : These technologies suggested the development of walls that can be installed at the upper level of buildings, such as traditional markets, and separate isolation facilities were not necessary because they are integrated with structures and sprinklers. In addition, sprinklers can perform both the plant spray and fire spread prevention functions. It is believed that this is the only alternative technology proposed in Korea to prevent the spread of fire. Conclusion : In this study, the wall design, designed directly to derive the quantitative performance of the fire spread reduction effect, demonstrated the fire suppression method of the wall system, the durability of the wall itself, and the flame retardability performance.
